**We would love a workawayer or two to stay with us this summer. Our 16-year-old son would love a workout buddy and he and his 15-year-old sister would love to learn the guitar. Other work will involve help around the house and garden**
Our home, a beautiful farmhouse in the southwest of France with amazing views of the Pyrénées, is on the ancient pilgrim path, the Chemin de St Jacques (Camino de Santiago).
We are a family of four who moved to France from Norfolk, England in July 2012. Kate teaches yoga classes in French and English (which you are welcome to attend) and Chris is a pool-cleaning guy. Our two children are now 14 and 16.
We currently have two dogs, two cats and seven chickens. We also have a large potager (vegetable garden).
We speak English at home but there are lots of opportunities to improve your French with our friends . There are also opportunities around here for people with TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualifications. We often have French children staying who love to learn English, so experience of teaching English is always appreciated.
There is always yoga going on if you would like to have a go. No previous experience necessary.
We are happily very busy but still make time to enjoy this amazing part of France, where there is so much going on. We work hard but we also play hard so a sense of humour is essential ;) We all love playing and listening to music so musicians and performers are always welcome.
Workaways love joining our family for a while (check out our reviews) :)
We look forward to hearing from you.

We love meeting people from all over the world and trading customs and traditions with them. You will be treated like part of the family here - we have been welcoming workaways since 2013 and our little community now stretches right across the world. Working together is an important part of our life here - come and be part of it 🙂
Dieses Projekt schließt möglicherweise den Umgang mit Kindern ein. Mehr Informationen findest du in unseren Verhaltensregeln und Tipps hier.
Help is varied and depends on the time of year. We may need help in the garden or on building projects (there is always work to do on the house and we are turning our barn into a yoga studio and chillout space). Or we might need help in the house or looking after all the people who pass through!
Previous experience is always appreciated but not essential. It is more important to be willing to get stuck into anything! As we often have guests, being able to clean up after yourself is an essential requirement. And we may also need help cleaning the accommodation. You don't need to be an expert but we do ask for things to be cleaned properly. We will help you learn how and your future partners will love us forever ;)
Our children, Tana (boy) and India (girl), are 16 and 15. Tana loves working out, trampolining and backflipping off bridges and is learning to skateboard. He also loves making and editing videos. India adores horse-riding, training her puppy and playing piano. Both Tana and India would be interested in learning to play the guitar.
Workaways must be flexible as that is the nature of life here. If we have a really busy time, we might all be working flat out for eight hours but you will ALWAYS get the time back. Our most successful workaways are not clock-watchers. They are people who want to help us do what we are doing. And this kind of attitude is ALWAYS rewarded.
We prefer workaways to stay for a minimum of two weeks, as that is how long it takes for you to settle in. When we are all sure that we can live and work happily together we encourage workaways to stay as long as they can as that is when the real magic happens. Lifelong friendships are formed and you get the chance to really be part of the place, to see what it's like to live in rural France and really get to know the local people and area.

We have a room inside the farmhouse or a bell tent with double mattress (weather permitting).
This is a wonderful area to visit, especially for people who enjoy a beautiful, simple, outdoor life. There are amazing walks right from our door and we have bicycles you can borrow. We ourselves are still exploring the area so you will get to explore alongside us.
We eat meat but enjoy vegetarian and vegan food, especially when other people prepare it ;)
We don't mind people smoking outside.
