Our stay with Damien and Evelyn was only a week, but even this short time was a great one. The work could be quite hard, but was never too much, and working outside was always nice. The food was incredible, and Damien and Evelyn's stories from a lifetime of travel were always inspiring. We really enjoyed our stay here and recommend it very much.
Rory and Tom are very kind, ready to learn, following the explanations well. Strong young men with a good level in french. Tom cooked a tasty meal.

My stay at Damian and Evelyn's was a really good experience. Durtal is a beautiful city with a charming castle just in front of the house and the Loire flowing in the back yard. The work was interesting and I wish I would've the time to stay longer and finish the project we started.

They are both very flexible with when you want to work and when you want to rest, so long as it is for 4 hours a day. I was able to visit a friend while staying with them and it made my trip very fulfilling :)

… read more travels made me want to keep exploring the world, and seeing how they live trying to minimise waste has certainly made an impact on the way I see the many things which go to waste in my own country. I was a bit surprised at how things were done around the house at first, but I got used to it and it really made a lot of sense to change my way of living.
The work was physically demanding, but a 4 hour work day gives you plenty of time to explore the surrounding area, try out the kayak, etc!
I had a nice place to sleep too, an entire room to myself with a view of the Durtal Chateau.
