Hello! We are a small family with me and two kids at ages 4 and 8 living on a farm just 30 min drive from Lillhammer, Hamar and Gjøvik (three major cities in Innlandet county). This is a place where you can both enjoy the peace and quiet at our farm and explore cities and nature.

I work from home with yoga for womens health, moon ceremonies, womens circles, pregnancy and birth support and online courses.

This is the first season we have on the farm and our goal this year is to get started with growing food and creating the fundation for a retreat center. We need some extra help with both cooking and pracitcal work outside.

Staying with us means that you’ll get to experience developing a farm into a community/retreat center. This is the first season and there is so much we don’t know yet and need to explore. And you will be a part of this!

We are used to having people of other nationalities and cultures visit and staying with us. Also we enjoy sharing about our culture and answer questions you have. Including the more fundamental ones, not just the touristy joyful ones.

Extra help with the household. This includes preparing healthy meals from scratch, cleaning, organizing, taking care of indoor space and prepare our tinyhouse for guests (we rent it out on airbnb). Baking sour dough bread (I can teach you), fermenting vegetables, cooking broth. We are a meat eating family that also enjoy vegetarian food.

In addition to extra help with household this summer the first priority is to paint the house and chop wood.

*Other things I plan to get done*
Developing the garden and growing vegetables to store for the vinter. This includes both creating hugelkultur areas for growing, taking care of the garden, harvesting, perserving and preparing for storing.

Rehabilitating a timber house. The first step is to tear out the old wooden floor and start heating the house again. The goal is for this house to become a space for yoga, community space for peolpe living at the farm and to host a few people in rooms.

Creating adventourus places for kids in the garden and on the farm land. Zip lines, tree huts, sand box and much more. Perhaps you have some ideas too?

Maintanance projects, both small and big on the farm. Depending on your qualifications and how long you’d like to stay. Building a chicken house, smoking hut (smoking meat), painting, creating outdoor spaces and more.

I am considering getting a few pigs this season to start preparing the soil for next year. And to get some hens to become self sufficient on eggs.

If you have skills with developing self sufficiency at a farm, herbal medicine, are a carpenter or love to cook please tell us and we can adjust to fit your interest.

You will stay at the farm in your own room. In this room you have a double bed. My oldest son goes through this room to get to his, so it isn’t 100% private. If you want you can also stay out in the forest by our farm.

Dinner is the most important meal in our family and we do our best to eat it together. When you stay with us you will count as part of our family. This means you too join in and share how your day has been.

Depending on the time of year there are great opportunities for skiing (cross country and downhill), hiking, swimming in fresh water and finding places where you can be completely alone in nature.
