Greetings,
We are a Guesthouse directly on the beach in Santa Marianita, 20 minutes south of Manta, with a lot of happy cats and dogs.
Santa Marianita beach is long, sandy and safe to walk day or night at your own discretion. This is not a party beach and is known for its kitesurfing.
We are seeking mature, low-drama travellers, with good morals and drug-free volunteers who love animals, will help caretaking and maintain them, are ready to work with a smile and have fun meeting people from all over the world.
We do appreciate our wonderful volunteers dressing appropriately as we are a guesthouse, not a hostel.
Our volunteer rooms are usually shared with a maximum of 2 people and each room has its own bathroom including hot water. The kitchen is shared and fully equipped. We also provide a laundry service for our volunteers. There is wifi throughout the property.
Sometimes we cook together, and sometimes friends of the community share food with us, otherwise, you mostly cook for yourself.
The shifts are 5 hours a day, either from 7 am to 12 pm or 12 pm to 5 pm, 5 days per week with two days each week off to explore and enjoy this wonderful area in Ecuador. Our minimum stay is two weeks.

Being a small guesthouse and like a community center, we have visitors from all over and because we are in a small active fishing village you will have endless opportunities to mingle and help the locals if you so desire. The choice is yours. In addition we have 3 professional kite schools for anyone interested in learning kite surfing.

My experience was excellent with both Ivana and Sasa. Sometimes when you have a couple, one of Them is a good volunteer while the other is not. Not this case. I wouldn't know how to start to describe how much I liked this place. I stayed for 1,5 months and enjoyed every minute of it. The work you have to do is quite easy and fun and after your shift you have time to spend at the beach, with the dogs& cats or relajado in one of the hammocks. This is a lovely spot in the town of Santa Marianita. I stayed here for a month but could of easily stayed for longer. The breakfast is next to none and the family evening meals provide you with foods from all over the world. I met some amazing people here who I wont forget and would recommend this place to anyone. I had an amazing stay in Santa Marianita! I was only going to stay for two weeks but I ended up extending to stay almost a month. I worked with a great group of people and everyone was incredibly helpful with anything I needed. Breakfast is amazing and my room was great, and my favorite part was our family dinners every night! :)

We spent a month here and had such a great Time with Cheryl and the staff. The place is very nice, breakfasts excellent and It was great to mette and share Time with the guests.

This is a fabulous environment to volunteer at. Working with Cheryl and the other volunteers has been an absolute blast and there is always plenty of time for the beach or the hammocks. it is enough to say that we stayed five (5!) months in this hostel. that says it all. we even overstayed our visa for two months and were illegal, just to stay there a bit longer.

We had a wonderful time with Linda, Steffi and Danny. Once you get there you don't wanna leave again. It was very motivating to see so many guests having an outstanding time. We enjoyed being part of it.
