Hi! I am a Portuguese language teacher in my late 50s. I have taught English and German for over 30 years in Portugal in middle schools. I love my job, especially the challenge of motivating students, so I always get involved in many projects.
I also love traveling, meeting people and cultures.
I am married and have 3 grown up children, so lots of experience with kids!
I care a lot about the environment, recycling and reusing are for me big priorities.
I don't smoke, drink alcohol or eat meat and am very interested in vegetarian cooking. I get along well with cats and dogs. I am quite good with handwork.
I may be a good help with taking care of children, teaching languages (Portuguese, English, German, French), doing hostel tasks, helping with computer work, general housework like cooking, cleaning. Farming and gardening also interest me.
I don't like the heat.
I think this big adventure of volunteering abroad, meeting and helping people, exchanging ideas, learning new skills is soooo amazing!
I have been gathering memorable experiences with workway and hope to keep on doing so!😍

This was the last workaway experience in my sabbatical year and it couldn't have been better. I had an amazing time with the kindest people, Lourdes and her friends in this fairy tale place! I learned a lot and loved the garden, the forest, the river...all so peaceful and unspoiled. Thank you so much!

Here I met a nice, cool couple and the sweetest baby! Work for them was a pleasure. I looked after the baby for about 3 hours and did some house chores. I could also go for long walks with the baby and help at the biofarm (from where we got all the awesome vegetables).

I called it Raspberry Paradise! In the quietest countryside of Belgium, beautiful garden full of berries, the best decorated and comfy house i've been to and a lovely host! Maria spent two weeks with us, it was a real pleasure to welcome her. In two years, we have welcomed around 20 volunteers, Maria is the one who best participated in the many tasks in the field. Her smile, her availability, her kindness and her tolerance warmed our hearts. We will be very happy to welcome her back to our home if she wishes.

This is the perfect person to meet the first time you come to Índia. Rajesh knows a lot about Índia and Kerala and is willing to explain and take you to the best places in Kochi. His apartament is right in the center and I could go everywhere on foot alone or with him on his bike! He is a great masseur!
