This is a not for profit project started by Sue and Jeff in the beautiful foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Tulameen British Columbia. As an energy healer, Sue has been helping people heal for more than 20 years. A few years ago, she and Jeff started the gardens and retreat centre as a place for people to come and experience the healing power of nature and spirit. The garden has a variety of spaces - lily pond and waterfall, Chakra Gardens, Earth energy vortex, Labyrinth - designed to heighten the connection to the energy both from the earth and from Spirit.

The gardens are set in a beautiful and wild natural setting in the Tulameen river valley. Our 200 acre property is surrounded by the wilderness and forests of the Cascade Mountains. Coming here will give you a chance to experience the wilderness and natural beauty of a wild part of Canada. Sue and Jeff are natural history filmmakers and have a long career making wildlife films for television companies like the BBC, PBS, CBC Discovery channel, Netflix and more. Their work has been seen around the world in over 80 countries. So they have a strong understanding and connection to the natural world and the plants and animals that live there. Getting a chance to experience the wild outdoors of the Cascade mountains is a big part of the experience if you come here.

But there is another very different side to the experience, there is also a chance to experience more spiritual practices. Meditation, psychic and mediumship readings and energy healing are part of the retreat experience and its possible for workawayers to be experience some of this as well if they are interested. The gardens are all about the connection between the natural energy of earth and the healing energy of spirit.

Most of the work will be outdoors in the beautiful surroundings of the garden. We need help with the garden – watering, mowing and help with planting early in the season.

We have an old horse, baby doll sheep, free range chickens and ducks that live on our pond. Workers can help with care of the animals as well if they like to interact with animals. These animals are all pets and are part of the experience of people coming to visit the gardens.

As well, we will have various building projects that we could use help with. Workawayers with building skills would be greatly appreciated.

There will not be any work associated with any paying guests that come to the retreats - no cleaning or maintenance on retreat buildings nor any building projects for the retreats themselves.

    Alojamiento

Sleeping accommodation is a self-contained private log cabin on our property. Your own home in the wilderness. If a quiet, beautiful forest in the Canadian wilderness is your cup of tea then this is the place for you. There are incredible views up the valley to the mountain peaks. It sits in the middle of our property on the mountainside above our house and gardens about 20-minute walk or a 5minute quad ride. (workawayers will be able to use our quad to get up and down the hill to the cabin if they prefer). The cabin has its own wood stove for heat, if needed, and propane stove for preparing hot drinks and breakfast in the cabin on their own. It’s off grid so there is no power or running water. All meals can be taken down at the house or with the guests during retreats but there is the option to make your own breakfast at the cabin if you prefer. Showers and bathroom facilities are available at the retreat buildings or in the main house. The only other thing to mention is that all meals are vegan. We don’t eat meat or dairy on our property.

There may also be the option to stay in a sleeping cabanna at the retreat center. This is close to the main house and the retreat shower and bathroom facilities.

We live about 3 kilometers outside of the small recreational community of Tulameen, BC. And 30 kilometers from the town of Princeton BC. We would be able to pickup workawayers from Princeton and get them back there as well. We make regular trips to Princeton for groceries, the mail and other supplies and the opportunity to come along is always open. Tulameen has a small convenience store, gas station and restaurant as well. We have mountain bikes that can be used to ride on the many forestry roads in the area. And kayaks for paddling around on the local lakes and rivers.

The gardens are set in a beautiful and wild natural setting in the Tulameen river valley. Our 200 acre property is surrounded by the wilderness and forests of the Cascade Mountains. It is a natural undisturbed forest that is home to many wild animals and travellers will have the opportunity to explore the land and surrounding wilderness. Our home is the last private land in the valley and connected by road, fibre internet and telephone to the rest of the world but it feels like living on the edge of the wilderness when you are here. The Cascade mountains provide opportunity for beautiful day hikes and the Tulameen river that flows out of them is pure and clean and perfect for a refreshing dip during the summer months. Our place is an idyllic oasis surrounded by the rugged wilderness of the mountains. If you love the outdoors and wilderness of Canada then this is the perfect place for you. But please note that we only provide vegan meals. We have been vegans for close to a decade now and Sue is an excellent vegan cook. As well during retreats we will have a chef preparing top quality vegan meals.

There is bus service to Princeton – twice a week from Vancouver. its called Mountain Man Mikes Bus Service
The bus arrives from Vancouver on every Sunday or Thursday at 10:40Am and departs to Vancouver every Saturday and Wednesday at 1PM. We will pick you up in Princeton from this bus and take you back here when you are ready to leave. We would like our workawayers to stay at least a week but if you get here and it’s not right for you then we would be happy to take you back to Princeton so you could depart early.

We have farm animals like ducks and chickens that are free range and run around the place. As well we put the sheep out on the lawns to graze. We could welcome workawayers with pets as long as those pets are well trained, mannered and controllable so they don't harass or chase our animals and get along well with other dogs - we have 3 dogs ourselves and 2 cats in our house.
