Hey guys!
I'm Alicia en Oz an urban artist living in Puerto Rico.
For the last 16 years I have travel the world staying everywhere and had many good experiences.
Now that I'm finally back home, I'm working on transforming and renovating my old abandon family homes into a colorful, good vibe, warm library houses.
There are a few family houses that need love and we just bought three trailers that are in Santurce and need work too!!
The houses are in Santurce, Bayamon and Maunabo.
The Maunabo house is in the middle of 3 acres of land full of mango, breadfruit, avocados, plantains and I don't know what else but you are welcome to explore! We have a modest wooden house there where you can stay.
We are looking mostly for workaways construction/cleaning experience. We do video interviews via whatsapp.
We don't have schedules, we work with task and monitor those task. We provide private rooms (we just open new rooms!! They are still a work in progress), weekends off (unless there's some kind of agreement or emergency), basic groceries (workaways have to cook their own food), sometimes we give u a bottle of rum or wine for the weekend (depends of how was your performance during the week:), and if u want to, we can help u organize your free time to see or visit different parts of the island.:)

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THIS WORKAWAY
***If this is your first Workaway experience, the first time that you live abroad, your first "job" or the first time that you are on your own, this workaway is not for you. We want workaways with experience and independent.***
● Minimun age 25 years old. We may do exceptions and we accept couples profiles.
●You need to have a USA visa to come to PR. We do not provide work visa.
●English or Spanish is a most.
●You would stay in one location and we provide transportation between the houses (depending of the house it ranges from 7min to 18min).
●The one in Maunabo on the other side of the island. Is in a 3 maybe four acres of land full of fruit trees. You can stay in there for a weekend or for a few days while working. We provide more details during the interview!
●Two weeks minimun stay (it can be extended)
● Once you confirm we make arrangements for your arrival. It's your responsibility to notify us is there's a change or cancelation at least ONE WEEK before your arrival. In case you don't cancel on time we will write a "NO SHOW" on your profile.
●If you want to volunteer in other parts of Puerto Rico (beach or mountains areas) we can refer you to other projects (private or non profits) that are looking for volunteers.:)
● If you apply as a couple you will get one room with a full bed. If you want to have separate rooms you would have to send separate applications.

Its a tropical island and you will be staying in a private (o shared) room for free!
Beaches, museums, street art, theathers, old san juan is less than 30 min away (by bicycle or car).
Here in Puerto Rico everyday is a perfect day to go to the beach. It's always sunny, the ocean is a pretty clear blue and the water is warm.
There are kite surfing, snorkeling, sightseeing, shopping, camping, salsa concerts, reggaeton, la placita bars, paint, surf, the rainforrest, take a ferry to Vieques and check out the bioluminescense bay or just enjoy the beach.

Ali is an amazing person with a wonderful attitude! I stayed in San Juan working for her for 3 weeks and had an awesome time! She went out of her way to make sure me and the other volunteers had everything we needed and she helped organize lots of fun trips around the island based on everyone's interests.
