Vom Host für Workawayer (Chiara)
Chaira has a fantastic personality.
Chaira works on her own initiative, she see exactly what she needs to do, and when to do it.
Chaira is honest, trust worthy and above all a very caring person.
A excellent person all around.
I can't wait to have her back in my home.

I stayed with Anne and Paddy for two weeks. It was my fourth workaway experience and Anne and Paddy are that third pair of (Irish) grandparents you didn't know you had - sweet, caring and ready to make you feel like you've always been part of the family. Their place feels just like home, especially when their kids and grandchildren are around.
… read more Helping around the house, sharing meals and chats makes you feel like you belong. They have a fascinating knowledge of the history and customs of the island and I've tried helping with the book Patrick is writing about it. Work needed is varied and light but make sure you're proactive because even if you'll never be asked for extra, there's plenty to do and that's the least you could do to repay their hospitality. I loved bottle-feeding the lambs and working in the vegetable gardens, serving breakfast to and chatting with their guests. I also helped Anne around the house and the guest rooms, and I was amazed to see how well organised and efficient she is! Taking care of the kids was not requested, but they are so nice and bright I couldn't help but spending time with them drawing, exchanging Italian and Irish and going swimming! The island is a beautiful, remote and unspoilt place. Getting there by the small ferry was fun and exciting, just as exploring the hills and cliffs with the sheepdog Captain. People are friendly and laid back, and you'll easily engage in conversation whenever you visit the local pub. The club also provides meals, but Anne is so good when it comes to baking and cooking you wouldn't really want to go dine out. She taught me how to made scones, soda bread and gravy. The last night she made me Colcannon and taught me to set dance while Patrick was playing the fiddle! Leaving was pretty heartbreaking, so if you get a chance to go, just do, cause you'll rarely find more open, supporting, trusting and trustworthy people around. But please make sure you'll take good care of them, they really deserve it!
Paddy and I have no words to actually describe Valentina, excellent, brilliant, amazing, caring, understanding, all this and more.
When Valentina arrived off the Ferry in Inishturk I had a feeling like I knew her all my life.
Valentina settled in straight away.
Valentina worked on her own initiative, she didn't count her hour's.
Paddy and I

She worked in the vegetable garden, flower garden and cleaning, tidying, cooking and organising in the house while I was away on holidays and my husband remained at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Valentina. I have no hesitation in recommending her and wish her well in everything she does. Feel very grateful she stayed with us.
Thank you 💚
I've spent three amazing weeks with this marvellous family and couldn't ask more from this experience. Finding such warm, kind and welcoming people has been a blessing. They have treated me like a part of the family since day one, the environment was so healthy and cheerful, and, speaking of cultural exchange, the amount of subjects you can

I've gained a lot of knowledge about Irish history and traditions, and every day I've had the chance to have lengthy chats about anything interesting, from the environment to technological development, from gardening to philosophy, and so on.
The experience of helping with the garden, house, and kitchen is fulfilling to me, especially because the hosts have always made me feel valued in any way they can.
The house is cosy and comforting, and the Island is just magical. With its breathtaking landscapes and unspoiled nature, Inishturk will surely steal your heart, as it has stolen mine.
I'll definitely come back.

Staying on Inishturk with Anne and Paddy was a wonderful experience and one I would not want to have missed. The island is a little gem on the Irish West coast and great for walks and swimming (if it is not too cold). Anne and Paddy were also great hosts, caring and ready for good conversations. And although I am not too used to handling dogs, I

Sometimes I was also helping with the sheep when their son was around. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to everyone who likes to spend time in rural, peaceful places.
