Vom Workawayer (Moritz) für Host
I had a wonderful stay with Deborah and David! They made sure I felt at home and included and enabled me to explore the city. Thank you for everything! Also they're dogs are very cute and I loved taking them for walks.

We loved having Moritz to stay. He has great practical handyman skills, and he is hard-working, conscientious, and able to get on with the chores without needing supervision. He fitted into our household very well, and our dogs completely adored him.

Kristah was a delight to host - very conscientious and skillful with our paint preparation and cleaning chores, and able to see what needed doing and just get on with it, without needing constant supervision and feedback. Victoria was one of our best ever workawayers. I spent five days with Deborah and David, which were my last days in New Zealand before returning home. I couldn't imagine a better ending to my two-month Oceania Workaway experience than the opportunity to participate in David and Deborah's dance club Christmas party on the last evening. … read more dances for four hours straight. Thank you, Deborah, for lending me shoes and a dress for the occasion! And thank you, David, for introducing me to sequence dances and for allowing me to dance line dances in your course one another day.
Before that, we prepared for the party together: we made many different buffet dishes and decorated the hall. At this place in Wellington, I had the opportunity to do also work I hadn't done before my workaway time: I adjusted (sewed) some jeans and a curtain, also I cleaned the kitchen.
These five days also included walks in the Wellington hills, a visit to the botanical garden, evening dinner conversations, and of course, petting the lovely Harry and Angie. With David and Deborah, it's incredibly easy to feel at home because they are a lovely couple who genuinely care for each other, enjoy joking together, and are very active. You immediately feel very comfortable there. They live their everyday life, and you can simply join in.
I had a great time with Deborah and David in beautiful Island Bay, Wellington for about a week in March. I was set to work with Deborah clearing out and reorganising the garage with its tools, materials and items for garage sales in aid of a local charity, which culminated in having enough space to store their kayak (which I promptly took out for

The pair were kind and open, with David taking me along to a fortnightly ballroom dance club which was super fun and Deborah being insistent that I have a bed at theirs if I ever need it. They have two small dogs, Harry and Angie, who can bark and jump up, but they are cute little beings who love to go on walks on the beach right opposite the house.
