For a first Workaway experience, I couldn't have asked for a better host. Christine and her family welcomed me warmly and integrated me straight away by inviting me to see a football match of their hometown team.
I'm very thankful that Christine put in the effort to integrate me as much as possible in their everyday life. The tasks were varied
… read more and interesting: We pull out weeds at a farme field and did gardening in the family's garden too.
The kids were great fun and very kind. Always happy to play and exchange.

Mathieu is a kind-hearted, generous, and open-minded young man who provided invaluable help around our house and with our children. He showed great initiative, always thinking ahead and offering support whenever it was needed. His versatility is impressive; whether it was painting our foot licence, playing football, doing handicrafts with the
… read more children (Birthday preparation, painting Easter eggs), Mathieu approached every task with enthusiasm and dedication.
His fluency in three languages allowed him to communicate effortlessly with our family and the wider community. Mathieu is also very sporty, serving as an inspiring role model for the children. His energy seemed limitless as he engaged in running games and outdoor activities with them.
Besides playing and crafting, he also contributed significantly to household chores, taking care of the garden, setting the table for meals, and cooking for/with us. We are deeply grateful for Mathieu‘s support and positive spirit. We are certain that, with his outstanding personality, he has a very bright future ahead.

Matuxa and Herna stayed at our house for almost three weeks and helped out a lot. They are two reliable, open-minded, tidy and so friendly young persons who we loved to have around our house. They helped us greatly with cooking (yummy!), gardening (in our own garden and at the community farm) and childcare (played soccer with Janosch, puzzling,
… read more playing boardgames, looking after them for half an hour so I could run errands). It never felt as if they were here to work but rather as if they were the older cousins of our kids who took the initiative and offered to play with the kids naturally. Our children loved them!
We wish the two all the best in life and hope to see one day again!
It was very, very, very, really, really nice to stay with Christine and the family. They treated us like part of the family and really took care of us. We did everything together, they taught us German......
