Vom Workawayer (Hannes) für Host
The time with Gaby was wonderful. The accommodation is a dream and the work is fun!
Gaby cooked delicious meals for me every day and I did the washing up to make up for it.
Even after work, Gaby is a super sociable person, so we went surfing together, went for a walk and had a beer.
I can only recommend everyone to spend a few days or weeks with

Hannes is smiley and easy going. He knows his way around power tools and helped me knock together a little firewood shelter without much trouble.
He is easy and pleasant to work with, but also seemed happy working independently. He was very layed back and discreet, an easy (and helpful!) person to have around. Not a keen cook, but happy to wash up

Gaby took us in at a last-minute request. Originally planned just for a week, we ended up staying one month! Our camper van had an engine problem, and it took way longer to sort this problem than we anticipated. Luckily, Gaby let us stay and helped us where he could. And in the end, we actually didn't mind being stuck in this tiny village near

The property is beautiful, lush and green and the house(es) are enchanting and crafty. Picking fresh avocados, oranges, and lemons every day was a real treat!
We did some building work for Gaby, repairing his deck and building some drawers. We could work on our schedule, working some days extra hours, so we could go surfing or tending to our van on others.
Gaby showed us the surf sports, and it was great fun to spend the day at the beach together.
In the evenings, we would cook and eat together, play dice games, or chat.
Gaby is very relaxed and easygoing, sometimes a bit unorganized but all the more caring. He is very welcoming, and we quickly felt at home.
Paul isn't a profesional carpenter, and him and Silvana have no idea about building or working with wood. They didn't make some nifty drawers and definitely didn't make a beautiful chestnut deck with just enough of an incline for the rain to roll off whilst still being the flattest surface on the property 🤫 Despite the initial disappointment, they

They were extremely hard working, cooked nice food, chopped firewood, fixed doors, and were super fun and easy to get along with. They are terrible at dice games though and I won every time. If you are able to overlook this small shortcoming however, I couldn't recommend them enough. If they come knocking, crack open a cheap sweet bottle of white wine and let them in, it's not everyday one gets to win the workaway lottery. Please please come and breakdown here again one day! 🙏
Valentina and Jessica were the best house sitters I could have hoped for! Super nice, friendly and communicative at all times. They sent me regular updates and photos of some very happy looking animals. They got the hens laying eggs over a month earlier than usual, seemingly by pampering them silly with leftover rice and pasta and letting them out

When I got home the garden was looking great, everything alive and well just as I left it, but with fewer weeds. The house too was spotless, and they left me some natural homemade cleaning products as a gift. Best of all though, they seemed to really enjoy themselves and were as happy and grateful with the arrangement as I was. Thank you again! Looking forward to your next visit already xWeitere Bilder

Vom Workawayer (Milena) für Host
I had a really great time with Gaby! He is a great host! He always made a big effort to accommodate to my needs and made sure that I feel ok. He also prepared really delicious food and took me and the other workawayer to one of the beautiful beaches nearby one afternoon. The place itself is very beautiful and peaceful. I just stayed for a week, but it was a really nice time. Hope to come back again!
Gracias por todo y mucha suerte con tu proyecto:)Vom Host für Workawayer (Milena)
Milena is a very nice, reliable and chatty person, who speaks excellent Spanish, as well as English, German, Italian and who knows what else. She helped me dig up a couple of beds and plant out the winter vegetable garden, and must have done a good job as right now it's thriving! She kindly offered me a yoga class that I sadly missed, did some

Vom Host für Workawayer (Sophia)
Sophia was a great help and great company! She was up for anything, whether weeding, clearing or more weeding. I didn't make the most of her architectural or drafting skills, but should one have a need for them, they would surely struggle to find someone more qualified. She shared lots of fun stories from her travels, shyly played the guitar from

She was easy to please, cooked nice creamy food, and got along well with everybody (everybody being Emi the other volunteer, dog, cat and myself). She was a great fit and I got the sense she would probably be one almost anywhere. My only complaint is that she was conspicuously unimpressed by the exceptionally warm autumnal Andalusian weather we were having, but I guess that's what you get when hosting an Australian :) Thanks again and happy travels!
Vom Host für Workawayer (Lukas)
A late reference for superstar Lukas. He and his friend Daniel lent a big big helping hand for a week. I still feel a bit bad because, although I was upfront about the work I needed doing, it was particularly hard physical labour. It consisted of moving a mountain of manure from halfway down the track where the lorry dumped it, up over and down a

They also helped out with a community mural painting project and were generally a pleasure to have around. They were a funny duo, with contrasting personalities and a very nice energy. Lukas has a healthy appetite ;) and a serene calm way about him that was nice and soothing at a time when I was feeling a bit stressed. Thank you again to the pair of you, you shall forever be remembered as the best shit-shovelers to grace the gardens of Santa Lucía!
Vom Host für Workawayer (Sophie)
Sophie is a super knowledgeable and dedicated gardener, a godsend for me just now with my garden in disarray. She is motivated and hard working. She put a lot of care and effort into the tasks I suggested and would also notice all sorts of other little jobs that needed doing and just do them, such as repotting, mulching, clearing... She, without a

I feel like I've made a good friend :)
Vom Workawayer (Sophie) für Host
I enjoyed my stay with Gaby a lot! He was the best host I could have wished for, very kind, funny and considerate. The garden and houses are super pretty and unique! And I loved cuddling Maggie the cat and Tinka the dog.
For the work, Gaby suggested different tasks, so I could choose what I wanted to do. I was able to work independently but got help and advice whenever needed. I enjoyed doing some creative tasks as well, like choosing plants for different flower beds and arranging them.
Feeling super grateful I got to spend time on this beautiful piece of earth, hope to come back soon! :)Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Vom Host für Workawayer (Mina Marlene & Svenja)
Svenja, Mina and Emil were great guests. They were easy going but hard working and their carrot cake is the best. They got a lot done.
