Beschreibung
We bought a farm (in late October 2023) and could do with some extra hands! Plenty to do for experienced or non-experienced. We offer you a tent with blow up mattress or small caravan (with 2 singles), or parking space for your own van or tent and excellent food - mostly organic and local where possible. Compost toilet and shower is cold water although hot bath just installed! Living in a tiny house. Solar power, but you will need your own data plan for internet. It is a sheep farm, but only small flock to begin with. We are only 7.5km from Tuatapere town that has all amenities. Invercargill is about 75km. You can go to the beach or bush or mountains on your time off.
We are passionate about permaculture and can talk about it while having breaks and working. See our website for more info. Tasks could include construction, digging, cutting wood, weeding, planting, making biochar, building, and all sorts of basic DIY work for getting a homestead going. Have to build a market garden, greenhouse, plant lots of trees, and so on. Also, a tree nursery and more worm farms. We work with helpers side by side most of the time (90%+) and will vary work tasks so you learn plenty.
Helpers should come for 1 week or more. We reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are not working well enough. Helpers are treated really well and learn alot! We cannot cater for vegans as there is no such thing as vegan food, vegetarians are fine to apply. We'll ask for 3-5 hours of work 6 days a week, but this depends a bit on what tasks we are doing and how fast you work. We provide food on your day off as well. Organic is expensive in NZ!
Please give us a day or two to reply before requesting to others - there is no point us replying and you reply back to say someone else replied first! This is NOT people care... as it wastes our time. If you have a fully complete profile preferably with a good reference, and you write us a decent request, there is no reason for us to say 'no thanks' - we are usually able to fit in anyone who is offering great help.

We have both lived and worked overseas and are from different cultures. Asian as well as western cuisine. Learn about life, learn about taking care of yourself and the environment. Learn about Permaculture, biochar, healthy eating, weaving, and more!

We often take helpers to other Permaculture related events (that's our social life mostly) and to bush for a walk or to the beach for a swim or to catch a wave. We can pick you up from local town or even from Invercargill.
