We spent almost a month at Colette's beautiful house, and it went so fast! It was really the perfect Workaway. Work was interesting and varied, we always chose projects together with Colette, and the workshop being very well equipped jobs could be accomplished at a good pace, and the most rewarding part is that Colette knows how to show her appreciation. During free time, we had great discussions with Colette who is open minded and warm, being excellent company but also knowing to give privacy. She cooks really well, and we were happy to prepare a few meals too, and that was also appreciated. The area is also exceptional. We were lucky to have a car, so we could enjoy everything the Jura has to offer: the views, the rich history (castles and medieval cities) the gastronomy. So Tami and I want to thank you Colette for this great experience, and also thank you Rahel who was also Workaway during our stay, thank you for your good mood, hard work and positive thinking.

We were extremely fortunate to welcome Issy to our school for a month. She is a very skilled communicator and gave her energy and enthusiasm to our program. She encourages everyone to learn, practice and expand horizons as she has done. In addition she quickly assimilated with other volunteers and became key in accomplishing our objectives, sharing English language skills with students and assisting teachers as requested. Best wishes Issy on your upcoming travels. Come back to Casablanca any time.

Veronika spent a month on our small farm. She was always eager to try new things and activities. She got along well with our neighbors and friends and spent a lot of time visiting with them. Veronika was always willing to tackle any task given to her. We all learned from each other during the last month. Enjoy being home again.

Was a pleasure host Zoe and Elliot. They are a very young couple from Sweden but they are very responsible and good to take care of a big house. They stayed here helping me in the house, also painting two doors in the garden, helping me to clean the garden, helping with my daughter. They loved my dogs and they loved to cook a good food. The also stayed in the house 3 days as house sitting. Thank you so much 🌈

Maja, Keta and Adam came to stay with us for two weeks. We really enjoyed their visit! They were happy to help with everything that needed doing and showed loots of creativity. Whenever a problem arose, they solved it themselves. They were great at playing with the children, doing crafts, painting walls and renovating furniture (the bench we brought into the room 😊). Not to write only in superlatives, their stay was definitely too short! Thank you so much :))

Ken and Connie were the most amazing hosts! Felt like home the moment I arrived. They make you feel like you're part of the family 🤍 Their place is so beautiful and tranquil, and working with their horses was so much fun! Truely a time I'll treasure forever.

I had the chance to spend 2 months with Keith and the dogs at the shelter. The accommodation on the grounds quickly felt like home, thanks in large part to the other volunteers who made my time there so special. Whenever I had questions or needs, not only was Keith always there, but also Anna and Christina. They truly cared about our well-being. Keith is a wonderful person with a great sense of humor and a relaxed manner. Thanks to his flexibility in everyday life, I could easily borrow his car on my days off or also in between to explore the island. When there was time, it was always lovely to sit and chat with him in his caravan, while cuddling with the dogs. The amount of work shouldn’t be underestimated. There’s always something to do, and it’s important to take good care of yourself and make sure to take breaks. Working hours can also shift sometimes, for example if vet visits or emergencies come up. Otherwise, there’s a clear daily routine: in the mornings, cleaning and disinfecting the entire shelter, refreshing the water buckets and pools, and feeding the puppies. At midday, all the dogs are fed, and medications are given. I was amazed at how incredibly sweet and people-oriented the animals are. No matter what their story is, almost every dog asks for cuddles, wants to sit on your lap, in your arms, or sometimes even in bed with you. I miss the dogs and people I got to know during my stay every single day, and I truly hope I’ll get the chance to return.

I volunteered almost a month at Thomas' place during April and I left full of lifelong memories. The tasks vary from gardening to contruction and DIY, depending on the project that Thomas is carrying one. He will try to give you the task that best suits you which is somwthing to not leave out as the tasks may be demandings, be ready to get your hands dirty. You will do also some maintenance of the volunteers accomodation which is gonna be your shelter when the crazy azorean weather will decide to show its eclecticism (be ready to run inside also if the sun is shining, clouds travel fast over that island...). Thomas has spirit and a unique character, he is definetely part of the experience and you will understand his ways. He is also a an excellent chef and we where invited multiple times to have dinner and play cards. The cats will just spice things up, each of them has a different personality and watch out from the dark folk, he likes to steal pens. Around povoaçao there are many hikes but my suggestion is to also try to meet the locals which are amazing people, full of stories from around the world and giving you the greatest welcome you could get while travelling. Azores is not just nature but also a land of people ready to leave everything to seek opportunities around the world, with all the good and bed consequences that this woul lead to. I would definitely recommend this volunteering if you are travelling to discover the world from its most real side; and, if you are gonna be lucky like I have been, you may meet the greatest person you ever ecountered that would affect your future forever. Not everyone goes spontaneously in the middle of the atlantic ocean to eat tofu and reshape ground terraces ;)

Aytach stayed with us for about a week – unfortunately much too short, since she had to return home. We can wholeheartedly recommend her to any host. She has an incredible work ethic and brought professional-level skills with her. She did sewing work for us – in true tailor quality. She created covers for our outdoor couches, repaired trousers, and even adjusted suits to measure. On top of that, she also cooked very well for us. Beyond the practical side, the cultural exchange was wonderful and truly enriching. Although her stay was brief, we would have loved to get to know her even better. She is very attentive, calm, and easy to talk to. She also enjoys joining in when you go out somewhere. Any host can consider themselves lucky to welcome her. Dear Aytach – all the best, and if you ever come back to Austria, you are always welcome here again, of course also with your family.

Spending two months at the house was much more than just our first Workaway, it was an unforgettable experience. We felt welcomed, comfortable, and part of a family from the very beginning. The work in the kitchen was enjoyable and rewarding, especially learning directly from Dietmar, a fantastic chef always willing to teach. Christine, the house manager, kept everything running smoothly and supported both the team and the guests while making sure every day was fun and meaningful. Fanie put together a wonderful team was very flexible in adapting to our needs, and always stayed in close contact to ensure we had everything we needed. Sharing this adventure with Estelle and Marine, the other Workawayers from the team, made it even more special. Always smiling, eager to help and ready to share stories or play card games. The surroundings were incredible: beaches, forests, lakes, sand dunes, long promenades for biking or walking, and even Poland just a short bike ride away (the Haus has 2 bikes available to use in your free time). The accommodation was excellent, and the breakfast buffet every morning was delicious. This experience went beyond our expectations: we gained skills, friendships, and memories we’ll always treasure. A heartfelt thank you to Fanie, Christine, Dietmar, Estelle, Marine, and Martina for such a fantastic summer! We hope to come back soon and truly recommend this project to anyone interested.

Silvana is a great host and lovely person, I totally recommend staying with her if you're interested in doing some creative renovation work and if you want to learn more about life in Tenerife generally. I mainly helped her adding beauty to her very cute house, with mosaic art and crafts and painting work, and also supported by coordinating the construction of a metal fence for the window with a blacksmith. We had interesting conversations and often did different activities together in the evenings & the weekend. I'm glad I could stay with her during my first week in Tenerife, it was a memorable experience!

It was the first time for us hosting a family and we absolutely loved it! Lenka and Lukas have a lot of skills and are very motivated to work. Kids were great too, even our kids didn't always see it that way :-) We also enjoyed having a lot of great talks about life and the world in general! We would immediately host them again ;-)

Tobias is a truly wonderful volunteer! He has returned to us three times already, and each time he brought not only his great cooking skills but also his energy, smile and dedication to help with manual work and in the countryside. Reliable, kind, and always ready to contribute, Tobias has been a real asset to our Glamping. We are always happy to welcome him back and we sincerely hope to host him again in the future.

Jules was such a joy to host! He is such a wonderful and talented guy. We loved hearing his musical talents, and he was always up for an adventure, whether it was hiking or just doing a random job. Whatever he does, he does it whole-heartedly. It was a blessing to have him volunteer with us and I know he'll have many more adventures ahead of him!

Marc was such an asset to us while he was here. He planned to come for only a few weeks, but ended up staying for almost 2 months! Marc is willing to jump intto any project - we had him doing all sorts of things from cleaning to woodworking to researching accessible doors. He always put his best foot forward. Beyond work, Marc is a kind, welcoming, and fun-loving guy who goes out of his way for others. Any place would be lucky to host him!

I felt welcome right from the moment I arrived. The volunteers were friendly and Robert helped set up my tent and was attentive to my enquiries. The daily work isn't very strict and regimented, which allows for more freedom given we've communicated. I had no prior expirence working with earth or doing natural building but I received guidance from others as well as Robert and I managed to feel more comfortable doing the work. There is a dog at the village which takes some using to as it still needs training and a cat that is on the lookout for food, but nothing seriously troubling. It was a great expirence. Next year hopefully I'm coming again with my car. Thanks Robert for the opportunity

From the moment Tessa, a strong, tall, and beautiful woman, stayed as my guest, I felt lovingly accompanied and wonderfully supported with my many, sometimes overwhelming tasks. Whenever I asked her for help, she had usually already done it. She is independent, practically skilled, and never hesitates to lend a hand. One night, she even drove rented film equipment back to Berlin on her own and returned it to the rental company. She really enjoyed cooking and preserving food. The passion for savoring the delicious results was something we gladly shared together. She always approached everything with great care and cleanliness. Thanks to her, my cellar is now filled with delicious treats. Thank you, Tessa – I truly hope you’ll come back soon!

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend 2 weeks with Nirmal and Sid on the most gorgeous piece of land. You can tell the amount of love and passion sid has put into creating his farm and farm stay. I learnt so much from the both of them and Nirmal kindly let me join in on her permaculture course with was very insightful. The work was very hands on and it was amazing learning new skills from the local workers. I had a really nice time here, (and not to mention the food was amazing!!!!)
