Nous avons accueilli Luna pour un séjour prévu de trois semaines. Elle est finalement partie au bout de quelques jours, expliquant d’abord qu’une autre ferme l’attendait en Espagne. Elle avait donc déjà joué double jeu avec nous en s'engageant pour trois semaine alors qu'elle attendais soit disant une réponse... Nous lui avions donc demandé de partir samedi car nous passions devant la gare et cela facilitait l’organisation, ce qu’elle avait accepté. Au dernier moment, elle a demandé à partir le dimanche, alors que c’est notre jour de repos, ce qui nous obligeait à nous lever tôt pour faire 40 minutes de route. Elle a insisté et a fini par imposer ce départ, refusant l’idée de faire du stop pour rejoindre la gare. Son départ anticipé nous a pénalisés, car nous avions refusé d’autres candidatures pour lui donner sa chance car elle répondait aux exigence de l'annonce, finalement pour nous faire plaisir et être acceptée. Malgré plusieurs tentatives de dialogue, il a été difficile d’obtenir des réponses claires. Elle nous avait assuré que son départ n’était pas lié à notre accueil, avant de reconnaitre plus tard qu’elle partait en vacances à Montpellier, ce qui expliquait l’absence de réponses cohérentes durant ces quelques jours. Sur les aspects positifs, elle est souriante, agréable, ponctuelle et volontaire lorsqu’elle travaille accompagnée. Situation de travail en binôme ou nous avons été pleinement satisfait d'elle. En revanche, elle est addicte à son téléphone et interrompt régulièrement son travail dès qu’elle se retrouve seule, ce qui a rendu la collaboration compliquée. Nos conditions d’accueil sont décrites de façon très claire et précise sur notre profil, et rappelées systématiquement lors de l’échange téléphonique avant acceptation d’un workawayer. Nous appliquons exactement ce qui est annoncé et restons disponibles pour clarifier tout point si nécessaire. Nous aménageons autant que possible les tâches et horaires en fonction des capacité et intérêt des volontaires. Ce n’est pas la première fois que nous rencontrons ce type de situation, mais c’est la première fois que nous choisissons de laisser un avis. Dorénavant, nous continuerons à le faire, car c’est important pour les autres hôtes et pour préserver l’esprit d’entraide de Workaway. Nous sommes déçus lorsque nous avons le sentiment que notre lieu sert de simple base de vacances. Ce qui crée systématiquement une situation désagréable pour nous comme pour le volontaire. Nous sommes déçus de cette expérience, car elle a occupé la place de volontaires réellement motivés, et son comportement ne correspond pas aux valeurs que nous défendons. Accueillir un volontaire demande du temps et de l’énergie, et nous espérons que cet avis sera utile à la communauté mais aussi à toi pour un engagement plus sincère lors de tes prochaines expériences ou de choisir un autre mode de voyage qui te conviendrai mieux.

Nico is an awesome, awesome human being. We became good friends with her, and are so, so glad she came to volunteer with us :) She cares deeply and authentically about people and animals, and she took it seriously to commit to our project - to do a great job and to help wherever and whenever help was needed. Besides our work on the farm, she was lovely to get to know. She's funny and quirky and full of interesting life experiences. And on top of all that, her skills as an osteopath are incredible! She helped realign our bodies (and sometimes minds, hehe), and provided some great insight into how to keep the good habits going. We miss her and can't wait to see her again! Hopefully soooooon. Julia: "You still owe us a clown performance with a tadpole." Hugs!!! :D

Linde & Waldie received me warmly during busy times at the farm. I was able to give a hand in the house & garden & orchard & banana fibre project during three weeks in October. Beautiful rooms and lovely garden setting!

I volunteered at a hostel in Jaisalmer and had an amazing experience. The host, Talab, was incredibly nice, supportive, and always helpful. The rest of the staff were also very kind and guided me whenever I needed anything. The kitchen team cooked delicious meals, which made the stay even more special. Overall, it was a wonderful volunteering experience where I learned many new things, met great people, and truly enjoyed my time. Highly recommend this place to future volunteers!

I really enjoyed my time at Sally’s place. The tasks were straightforward and usually a mix of light gardening, small house chores, or whatever needed attention that day. Sally was welcoming and easy to be around, she even took me out to an All-you-can-eat restaurant that was delicious. I appreciated the calm rhythm of the days, the cute dogs and of course shy Mr. Darcy. I miss all of the 8 dogs but especially Fiz, Topaze, Sparkle and of course my girl Seren. Thank you for having me, Sally!

Stacy & Sebastian and their 3 lovely kids stayed with us this autumn at our farm, and it was completely wonderful to have them stay with us. First of all they are just lovely people who felt like old friends from day 1. Stacy is an excellent cook and took it on to cook for one of our events, which was amazing. Sebastian is very handy and helped to build a new cabin. They were helping out further with cleaning, fixing, tidying up and keeping the farm neat. We loved their whole family presence, their kids kids are super well behaved and helping their parents with cooking or building and more, it was a big joy to have more kids around to play with our kids also. I hope they come back to our farm, anyone who gets to host them is very lucky!

Sam has been staying with us since early summer of 2025, in a total of around 6 months so far. He is a wonderful person to have at the farm, he is the rare kind that sees what needs to be done and takes responsibility and just gets it done. He always complete his task 110 % and exceeds all expectation by always doing more than asked, upgrading and fixing and building and just over all taking care of everything and everyone. He is a lovely, kind and warm man who has become a brother to us and a part of the family. He is 100 % reliable and solid, trustworthy and honest. Whoever gets Sam on their team is very lucky! We cannot recommend him enough.

I stayed with Adriana for two weeks this summer. It was a wonderful experience for me. She is a truly amazing psychologist and educator. My work was only a few hours each week. I actually learned much more just by watching her work. Adriana and her husband are both kind and very welcoming. They are open minded, supportive and positive people. I learned a lot about the history of Romania and its beautiful natural and historical attractions. They were kind enough to give me a ride the first day, and an unlimited public transportation pass which made everything really easy for me. My whole stay went perfectly smoothly.

I stayed with Lina and Sergio for 10 days, and they are such a warm and kind family. I felt relaxed and comfortable throughout my stay. Their daughter, Elodie, is playful, funny, and full of charm — we spent lots of time playing together, and I truly enjoyed every moment. The house is beautifully decorated with Lina’s wonderful sense of style, and the whole space feels very cozy. Their two cats are also incredibly cute. It’s an easy walk to the train station, so getting to Turin is simple as well. There’s also a good amount of private space, so I was able to enjoy my own time when I wanted to. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay❤️

Long overdue post, but I had such a fantastic time with Janik and Laurent! They were very accommodating, helpful, and welcomed me into their home. Staying in the yurt was a once in a lifetime experience, and I still think about it often. I enjoyed some autonomy in my free time, and enjoyed even more the time we spent eating and working together. The meals were unforgettable. I got to try caillette, delicious cheese, and so many more dishes and foods. Everything was so fresh, I loved the food so much. The work was delightful, Janik and Laurent's property is so gorgeous! I lose track of the time just walking around and gazing at the wonderful landscape. Despite my lack of French speaking I still manage to make a connection with Laurent which was so significant to me, he was very patient with my learning and slow speaking -- and he was always willing to teach! I learned how to use a tronçonneuse and at the same time I learned how to say tronçonneuse. I had many meaningful conversations, many skills and lessons learned, and felt some of the many joys of the Ardeche region. This was a great experience, I recommend to anyone. To Janik and Laurent - a plus tard!

Wir haben im Herbst 3 ½ Wochen bei Isabella und Christian verbracht und hatten eine unglaublich schöne Zeit. Die beiden sind so herzliche und offene Menschen und haben uns wie einen Teil der Familie aufgenommen. Wir waren bei allem dabei und haben viele Menschen kennenlernt. Ein Highlight war zum Beispiel das Wochenende in Wien mit Weihnachtsmarkt und mehrere Ausflüge nach Linz. Unsere Zeit bestand aus einer Mischung von Kochen, Wandern, Tiere versorgen und bei Dingen helfen, die im Haus und Garten so anstanden. Insgesamt war es mehr ein Unterstützen als Arbeiten und wir haben von Christian und Isabella sehr viel gelernt. Jeder Tag wurde mit einem Spiele- oder Filmeabend beendet und es wurde nie langweilig. Die Stimmung war immer locker und irgendwie familiär und es gab immer etwas zu lachen. Wir haben uns immer wohl gefühlt. Die Zeit verging einfach viel zu schnell und wir wollten beide gar nicht mehr nachhause fahren. Danke für diese unglaubliche Zeit Christian und Isabella, wir freuen uns schon auf euch, Chilli und die anderen 22 Tieris im nächsten Jahr. PS: Danke auch an Andrea und Nicola für die tolle erste Woche zu sechst. Grazie mille;) Bis bald!

It was my first workaway experience and this hostel was the best place to have it! I've spent only two weeks volunteering there and I cannot wait to come back as a volunteer or as a guest :)) I've met so many interesting, warm and welcoming people and I've made some amazing international friendships. Autumn there was a pretty chill time with a lot of volunteers and some guests, so you it was kind of like living with buch of people from all over the world in a cozy home in the middle of Georgia. Volunteer schedule was consulted with other people, which was super convenient- you could plan things outside your working shifts. I was doing mostly cleaning, everything was explained perfectly to me (big shoutout to Lukas who was super helpful with that :)). The owners are super kind, very interesting people. I loved the food served there, every day volunteers would prepare breakfasts and dinners, which were vegetarian and absolutely delicious. I loved every second spent here and I reccomend this place to everyone :)!

David stayed with us for a little bit under two months. He was a big help with DIY projects in the house and around the house. He has experience using tools, and gets things done as agreed. Communication was easy, and it was nice debating about things, going to walks and cycling with him. We are glad that he succeeded finding work and accommodation in Denmark, as well as getting residence permit, so we are looking forward to see him from time to time.

Gina is the dream work-awayer. She can help with just about anything. She can do farm/ gardening work, is an amazing cook, awesome with kids and babies (and is a swimming instructor AND certified diver!) She is incredibly strong, super hard working, learns fast, pays attention to every detail, and she is the kindest and most caring person you'll meet. Her "can-do" attitude is infectious. Everything is possible (and easy!) with Gina around!

I had a great stay here. The house and the surrounding area are really beautiful, and the food was honestly amazing — you will be well fed! Working with Michael is simple and straightforward, nothing complicated, and easy for anyone to handle. They also help a lot with planning your travels to and from the island, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a very good experience, especially for my first Workaway. Fully recommended!

Truly one of the best experiences of my life. The lodge is situated beautifully with amazing views and easy access to the ocean, as well as a short kayak or hike from a wonderful beach. The people and volunteers there quickly became family, one that I was so sad to leave behind. Thank you so much to everyone that made my 5 weeks so incredibly special - I hope to be back!

Nick and Lou were a lovely couple and we enjoyed hosting them. Nick was great with gardening chores and DIY whilst Lou was brilliant with some marketing advice and implementing some new ideas. They both fitted in well and the staff here enjoyed their company. Best wishes for your onward journey and come back soon.

Calm and quiet, observing people before engaging in deeper relationship. Easy to get along. She shared her artistic gifts even in the most basic everyday tasks. Attentive to others and to the service she is doing.

Julia joined our family in the autumn of 2025 for 24 days, but it feels like we spent much more time together, so quickly and intensely she won a place in each heart of us. Her extraordinary empathy immediately made her a special friend for the children, with whom she always interacted with admirable cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and sensitivity. Her sincere desire to help others made her invaluable in the home in every way: she always offered her support in household needs with diligence, going far beyond what was required, always with a smile. She cooked excellent cakes for us until the last day and a complete Polish meal with fantastic homemade pierogi. Our deep and never banal conversations with her revealed a profound spirituality and a sweet but also determined and mature character, even beyond her young age. Her knowledge of the Italian language is excellent, her vocabulary various and her speech fluent and confident. She kindly accepted our invitation to extend her stay by one week to train our newly arrived workawayer, establishing an excellent relationship with him and helping him settle into the family. We can definitely recommend Julia's help to anyone, and for us she deserves not 5 stars but a GALAXY of stars! She will remain in our hearts forever as a dear friend and we can't wait to see her again.
