David stayed with us for a little bit under two months. He was a big help with DIY projects in the house and around the house. He has experience using tools, and gets things done as agreed. Communication was easy, and it was nice debating about things, going to walks and cycling with him. We are glad that he succeeded finding work and accommodation in Denmark, as well as getting residence permit, so we are looking forward to see him from time to time.

Gina is the dream work-awayer. She can help with just about anything. She can do farm/ gardening work, is an amazing cook, awesome with kids and babies (and is a swimming instructor AND certified diver!) She is incredibly strong, super hard working, learns fast, pays attention to every detail, and she is the kindest and most caring person you'll meet. Her "can-do" attitude is infectious. Everything is possible (and easy!) with Gina around!

I had a great stay here. The house and the surrounding area are really beautiful, and the food was honestly amazing — you will be well fed! Working with Michael is simple and straightforward, nothing complicated, and easy for anyone to handle. They also help a lot with planning your travels to and from the island, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a very good experience, especially for my first Workaway. Fully recommended!

Truly one of the best experiences of my life. The lodge is situated beautifully with amazing views and easy access to the ocean, as well as a short kayak or hike from a wonderful beach. The people and volunteers there quickly became family, one that I was so sad to leave behind. Thank you so much to everyone that made my 5 weeks so incredibly special - I hope to be back!

Nick and Lou were a lovely couple and we enjoyed hosting them. Nick was great with gardening chores and DIY whilst Lou was brilliant with some marketing advice and implementing some new ideas. Julia joined our family in the autumn of 2025 for 24 days, but it feels like we spent much more time together, so quickly and intensely she won a place in each heart of us. Her extraordinary empathy immediately made her a special friend for the children, with whom she always interacted with admirable cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and sensitivity. Her sincere desire to help others made her invaluable in the home in every way: she always offered her support in household needs with diligence, going far beyond what was required, always with a smile. She cooked excellent cakes for us until the last day and a complete Polish meal with fantastic homemade pierogi. Our deep and never banal conversations with her revealed a profound spirituality and a sweet but also determined and mature character, even beyond her young age. Her knowledge of the Italian language is excellent, her vocabulary various and her speech fluent and confident. She kindly accepted our invitation to extend her stay by one week to train our newly arrived workawayer, establishing an excellent relationship with him and helping him settle into the family. We can definitely recommend Julia's help to anyone, and for us she deserves not 5 stars but a GALAXY of stars! She will remain in our hearts forever as a dear friend and we can't wait to see her again.

Full of joy and laughter, Erica was a great team member. She does have a talent of relationship and getting people together. Very attentive to people around her and curious about things happening around. Engaged in learning French during her stay and we all noticed her improvement. We still appreciate so much the cards she prepared for each one of us individually!

Manuel spent three weeks with us, and he quickly became an member of our extended family. He’s calm, steady, and genuinely generous. He loves the outdoors, he loves helping people, and it shows in everything he does. Practical Contributions: He tackled several hands-on projects with care and initiative. He refinished our outdoor wood couch with a professional touch. He cleaned and refreshed our outdoor furniture. He handled a mix of landscaping jobs without hesitation and kept everything tidy. Household Support: He helped maintain the house and kitchen consistently. He’s responsible, organized, and easy to live with. He even treated us to delicious homemade Kartoffelpuffer. Family Support: He provided excellent French tutoring for our son, patient and structured. He also offered fitness and nutrition coaching to members of our family, tailoring guidance to each person’s needs. Manuel also became a trusted friend to our boys. Final Thoughts: Manuel is kind, thoughtful, and trustworthy. He fits in naturally. By the end of his stay, he wasn’t just a Workawayer Guest. He was family. He has an open invitation to return anytime. If Manuel contacts you, don’t hesitate. You’ll be lucky to host him!

Perfect place and perfect job! Christina is such a friendly, welcoming person. The communication with her was always easy and fun. I enjoyed so much the village, the mountainious atmosphere, contecting with local people... In the end it was so hard to leave the cats and turtle behind, but I hope I'll see them again in some future. Mach's gut, Christina!

I stayed at Louise’s home for two months, and I am truly grateful for the experience. They are a wonderful, warm, and lively family. As an only child, I always dreamed of living in a big, loving household—and my time with them felt exactly like that dream come to life. Louise is incredibly kind and speaks many languages, and her husband Sam cooks amazing meals. I will never forget the delicious Senegalese dishes, mafe and yassa. Their four children are all so adorable and talented. I only wish my English had been better so I could have communicated more, but I am deeply thankful for the time we shared. They often baked bread, cookies, and cakes for me, which made every day feel special. My Workaway tasks mainly included household help—cleaning, washing dishes, sewing, and taking photos for an online marketplace. Louise kindly taught me even the tasks I had never done before. The house and garden are beautiful, and with easy access to Copenhagen, I was able to enjoy a very fulfilling stay. They have many friends and often host them at home, so there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy different conversations and warm gatherings. I have so much respect for Louise, and I hope to create a home like hers someday when I return to Japan. I wholeheartedly recommend this Workaway family and wish them all the happiness in the world. We stayed with Sofie and Tim for one week and really enjoyed our time there. They are both incredibly kind people who always cared a lot about our well-being and gave us also inspiration for our free time. They even gifted us a tent for our next adventurs and a lot of camping tips. The tasks were always manageble and we could work flexible with our working hours, so we could plan our free time in Dunedin really good. We really appreciated, that we were always able to complete the work together with the other Workawayers, so work never gets boring. Sofie prepared food for us every lunch and dinner and baked super good bread herself. If we hadn’t already had plans afterwards, we definitely would have stayed longer. We can only highly recommend Sofie and Tim! 🌟 Thank you for having us here and good luck with your projects in and around your historical house.

This was my first Workaway, and it truly was a wonderful experience. From the very first moment I arrived, Claire and Michiel made me feel completely part of the family. Claire, with her smile, her beautiful voice, her amazing cooking, her kindness and her huge heart; and Michiel, with his steadiness, his work ethic, his patience, his warmth and his ability to make you laugh. The atmosphere in the house is something special: calm, welcoming, and full of cooperation between everyone. The work is varied and always well explained (Michiel is a pro and really knows what he’s doing), and at the same time there’s plenty of space to enjoy, have conversations, learn, and compete to see who would win the next board game. Living with the other volunteers was also a great experience, it really felt like all of us, together with Claire and Michiel, formed a small team. The girls, Fleur and Perle, are an absolute delight: open, fun, and full of energy. They bring so much joy to the house, and spending time with them was one of the most beautiful parts of the experience. I’m leaving with the feeling of having found a home away from home, and with so much gratitude for how well I was treated. I can only recommend this experience 100%, and I’m sure I’ll be back as soon as I can.

If I had to describe the time with Kelly in one word I would choose Her project in Chiang Mai amazed me because she created a very special education space. Knowledge transfer away from performance pressure. The children can get creative and grow with joy in this free space. For that she invites constantly native speakers. During my time there I teached a boy german by playing cards, building airplanes out of paper and made contest of letting them fly. A very special and talented kid. In addition to this Kelly held a team building event for a company, which I was allowed to participate in. Very generously she shared all her knowledge about facilitating with us and build up such a strong team which was even able to communicate even they spoke completely different languages. Amazing! She is really living what she preaches about Teambuilding. Never had such a nice boss who put the needs of the group first, super open and transparent in the communication and very considerate about the mood and needs of every single one in the group. Through the atmosphere in the group she is building, every of her event will be a success. Kelly impressed me with her open, curious and very respectful way of being, never forget to enjoy life deeply. I wish you the best personally, for your present and all future projects. Having Mia stay with us was truly a wonderful experience. The time we spent together and all the activities we shared left a deep impression on me. I was especially amazed by the quality of her work Mia helped bring every task to perfect completion in such an incredible way. I can guarantee that anyone who hosts her will never be disappointed with the project they have in mind. Mia is remarkably gentle and kind with animals, and this truly stood out. Kimmy is a great person to have around. She is kind, caring en thoughtfull. She helped us around the house, played with the kids, took them treeclimbing in the forrest. Which was a blast. Coming as a workaway-er, leaving as a friend. We (me and my dog) had the most wonderful time. Right from the start it felt so welcoming and warm. There was plenty of work and lot of appreciation for everything that was done. The area is beautiful, the possibilities plenty. We had way too little time for everything we wanted to do/ experience. Elke and Edward are kind, fun, helpful, generous and open. I had a hard time leaving and really made new friends. The pets should not be forgotten, they were super sweet too. Hope to come back again.
