My wife and I had the pleasure of staying with Edgar and Vanisa for two weeks. All the work we did was very rewarding, as we were able to see the bigger picture they’ve been creating over the years. We formed lasting friendships, enjoyed amazing food, and helped contribute to the creation of a beautiful space at their home. We truly enjoyed our time there and wish nothing but the best for these two!

Pasé 9 días con Aleja, Cristian, Evan y los animales, y fue una experiencia buenísima - me hubiera gustado quedar más tiempo. Son personas muy abiertas, acogedores, y generosos compartir su hogar y proyecto. El lugar es hermoso, el trabajo fue interesante (trabajar en el huerto y plantar café), la comida muy rica, y mucho tiempo para descansar. Me gustó que a veces Aleja cocinaba y a veces nosotros, siempre habían muchas verduras y Aleja siempre atenta que tengamos todo lo que necesitábamos en la cocina. Disfruté mucho del salón inti donde hay hamacas y espacio para hacer yoga o disfrutar la vista del valle, y también de la caminata de 15 minutos al río donde hay cascadas. Ojalá poder regresar un día!

What an amazing experience!❤️ I spent a month with Julia and Jackie back in july, I was originally meant to stay for 2 weeks... but they couldn't get rid of me! :D Julia and Jackie are both such wonderful and authentic people! Seeing what they have built from scratch and hearing their future project plans is inspiring. They care so deeply for everything they’ve created, and their love for every one of their animals is so clear to see. Staying with them and learning their way of life was a pleasure and I loved every second! I spent a lot of time with Julia, building and helping bring their new project in the mountains to life! And although some things took...way longer than we planned haha, seeing it all come together was a very rewarding feeling! Even with the many mistakes we made a long the way (both of us...but somehow always my fault 🤣🤣🤣) Working with Julia was always a laugh! She is an incredible, hardworking person, who's strong-willed and full of fire and i think most days we made a great team! Being here felt very homely and I quickly felt a deep care and connection to their projects and their farm and wanted to work with them as if it were my own! There were always special moments, full of great conversation and lots of laughing! They have also been incredibly supportive as I will be adopting an abandoned kitten I found during my time there! With travel plans I had I have been gone for some time and it woudln't have been possible without them! They have gone above and beyond for me and I cant express how much I appreciate them for everything!! Thanks for taking care of spud! Who I see has captured the hearts of other volunteers too! <3 I came for a short experience and ended up with so many wonderful memories and a real sense of simple living and building a self-sufficient life! This time has been a huge highlight of my travels! Thanks again for everything! 🥰 I’m so excited to come back soon and see all the changes since I’ve been gone!

I actually still miss Ozzie and Emma :) They are the sweetest dogs with such distinct personalities. My job consisted of taking them for walks in the woods (which was so lovely), cleaning the chinchillas (who were so cute) and cleaning up different areas. The work was fair and pretty easy. the area was calm and quiet and really beautiful. On my days off I got to see different parts of Switzerland and Giny was nice enough to take me and pick me up from the train station. During my free time, I went to say hello to the sheep :) and went for runs. She provided plenty of food. It was really nice to spend some time in nature ! Thanks for everything!

Gabriel was great help around our place. Always worked well and helped in any way he could. It was a pleasure to host him for the short time he was here. Hope to catch up again in the future. I wish him all the best.

I really enjoyed my stay (3 weeks) with Dirk in his cottage on beautiful Bitter Lake. There was never a shortage of projects to do and Dirk let us decide how many hours we want to work - super flexible and easy-going. The tasks I did included painting, splitting and stacking firewood, organizing, gardening and building projects. He is a great cook and provided us with wonderful meals. After work we were able to use his kayaks, start campfires on the dock, swim & fish in the lake and just in general explore the area. Bitter Lake has a good community and Dirk introduced us to many of his friends and always made sure we had a good time. He even took us on evening boat rides and to Toronto. I'm really thankful for the experience I had with him in Ontario.

I loved staying with Kate, Alex, their children, Bounce and the cat! The property is beautiful, in a beautiful location and it was a pleasure to discover the region around with them. I really enjoyed helping working on the house, there is always something interesting to do. And I also appreciated all the time I spent with the family, all our talks about travels and wine, it was such a lovely time. Thank you for everything.

I've had a great time staying with Steve and Gabrielle! Such a lovely and kind couple with big hearts. Really enjoyed my stay here. Their property is like paradise with a wonderful garden, full of beautiful plants and lots of wildlife! It was a nice exchange. Gabrielle has a really big knowledge about the beautiful plants. And Steve is an amazing cook! He makes really delicious food :). Thank you a lot. You are amazing! I wish you well and take good care of you! Would love to see you one day again!

Gabrielle stayed with us for 2 weeks. She's very intuitive, responsible, helpful and productive. We had good exchange and sharing on culture, history and art project. Recommended.

Teina was fabulous..the perfect workawayer! He was friendly, helpful and a great asset around the house. He helped with our dogs and cats, cooking and cleaning and moved furniture around. Everyone enjoyed his company and we were sorry to see him go. We recommend Teina 100%.

Sloanne & Kevin were excellent workawayers. Their participation is our tasks were extremely helpful. Sloanne helped in the woods routinely. She followed instructions perfectly and was a joy to work with. Kevin was a regular contributor to house duties, helping in the Kitchen, emptyin the garbage and playing with the dogs. Like many of our experiences we miss Sloanne and Kevin.

I stayed with Siri for about two weeks together with a friend. Our stay was very good, we taught English and did paint work for some hours a day. In our free time we visited the beautiful city of Kamphaeng Phet or just stayed home in a comfortable room. We both felt very welcomed and I would recommend such an experience to everyone.

I was in Long Pa'Sia at the beginning of July 2025 and I had such a memorable experience. I helped with fish pond restoration. Being on the farm was such a unique one in a lifetime experience. Pangiran and Jeuan are so LOVELY, incredibly welcoming and kind. I felt at home. thank you for hosting me. thank you both for all your doing for the protection of the forest, your community, the river and Mother Earth. many blessings from Canada.... ❤️ Elizabeth

I had the most magical month in Sharon’s jungle paradise. Staying in a beautiful casita with hummingbirds, monkeys and butterflies around my balcony. We worked on different garden projects like cutting back bamboo and building structures with it. I was also able to teach a few classes in the beautiful yoga Shala. Sharon is one of the most inspiring women I have met - ask her for her stories if you get the chance ☺️ Mary and Javi and all the others were also super helpful und lovely to work with. I can’t recommend this place enough - it will forever be in my heart ❤️ thank you!

Vincent stayed with me in Toronto. He is a mature and responsible young guy who's eager to explore and learn. He helped with house chores, followed my house rules and also spent time with my dad at the hospital. We also hung out, danced at the bars, swam at the pool, shared many stories and experiences about life and travel. He is very friendly, easy going and is generally a fun guy to hang out and host. I recommend him to future hosts and is a great addition to the workaway community. Good luck and safe travels Vince! Thanks for your visit. We appreciate it!

My time volunteering at the cortijo was extremely rewarding and memorable to say the least! First, I will forever be spoiled by the wine and can confidently consider myself a wine snob now. Helping produce the next round of wine (a record amount!) was such a rich experience, as I got to partake in every step, from picking the grapes (and eating many) to processing them to pressing them. We also did various other tasks like harvesting figs, almonds, and apples, and working in the garden. I learned a lot about self-sufficiency during this experience, and I really admire Sarah and John's lifestyle. The countless conversations we had were also a part of the rich experience, and I am impressed by how many topics we covered :) Sarah and John are vibrant, hilarious, thoughtful, and hard workers. I really appreciated their clear communication and expectations. I can tell they learn something new from each Workaway experience and always make sure it's a rich experience for every volunteer. I also really enjoyed bonding with my co-volunteers, as we had lots of great laughs. And of course, I will always miss sweet Shep and the kittens. I visited the kittens every day during my stay and it was very therapeutic for me :) Thank you Sarah and John for this incredible volunteer experience! I hope to return <3

It was lovely meeting Jacob & Dan. Nothing was too much trouble for them . They cooked us a beautiful meal from the Netherlands, We hope you have some wonderful experiences on the rest of your trip. Who knows we may meet again Thank you again for your help Maren & Ian 🤗

We had a great experience at Mihkel’s and Beatrice’s orchard! We got in touch with the whole family easily and enjoyed talking to Mihkel and Beatrice and playing with their two lovely boys. The food provided by them was great! The tasks we had were easy to adopt and we had the chance to learn a lot about apples and how to use them to create great and tasty products. The area around their orchard is beautiful and they gave us two bicycles to go to the two small villages around. If you would like to discover a wider area you need a car as there is no public transport. The room we stayed in was large and clean and we had our own bathroom and living room. Thank you for the great time and new experience Mihkel and Beatrice!!

I stayed for a week in a lovely house in Terrigal. Anja and Alberto were very warm and welcoming, and I was truly happy to be there. Their dog, Pipo, was always hungry and would adorably beg for food whenever I was eating. The nearby beach had a beautiful view and a refreshing breeze. I wish both of them all the best in the future.
