Asha and Lily are a lovely couple and si easy to have around. They're adaptable, independent and sociable. They also work well as a team so it was no drama leaving them to do their tasks. They were also super considerate to us and Teo and really made an effort to maintain a concsiencous effort in everything they helped us with. Thanks so much for all your help and times we shared :) Teo missed you when you left!!

I was very fortunate to have Riccardo come visit my garden for a week. He is a super friendly and really amazing person in so many ways. He is a very talented and all tasks were completed to perfection. Riccardo is also quite talkative, so communication was very easy and we had some great conversations too. Some of the tasks he helped me with were sawing wood, building the dead hedge, cooking, cutting hedges, picking up gravel, removing dandelions from the lawn, organizing the compost area and even participate in a YouTube video for my channel, plus many other things. He is welcome back any time, and I can highly recommend him to other hosts! :-)

I had such an Amazing time at the surfers and backpackers lodge! The house keepers , guests and management team made it feel like home full of laughter, kindness and community. The food was delicious, and I loved the cultural exchange of sharing and learning new meals. Being just a 2 minutes from the beach made everyday special. I'm truly grateful for the experience, the people and the peaceful energy of the place .

Out of all my workaways so far I spent the longest time here in Ventotene, the experience was genuinely once in a lifetime, there was around 15 fellow volunteers and every day and night we spent together it was truly a de facto family experience, the work here was super enjoyable and varied and when I wasn't working we were either partying, socializing or just hanging around the island and the super cool basecamp (which had so many activities like a climbing wall, ping pong, trampoline etc, some of which we worked on and made while I was there) the people I met here treated me like lifetime friends and I had some amazing memories with the lot of them, if you're a social person I cannot recommend this little island enough!

I would like to warmly thank Daria and all the team at the horse farm for giving me the chance to discover how to interact with horses and to experience traditional Turkish cuisine. It was also a rich human experience sharing moments with local people, exchanging ideas, and exploring the stunning Cappadocia region. The hikes through the unique rock formations of Göreme were unforgettable, as was the spring weather, shifting between snow and chill in the morning and evening, and sunny, mild temperatures in the middle of the day. A truly unique experience, full of discoveries and wonderful encounters. 🌿🐎✨

Sophie and George were a lovely couple to host. They stayed for just over a week and helped out with both outdoor work and with cleaning and domestic work to fill in the work schedule during one or two rainy days. They happily undertook the variety of tasks given to them, and were keen to gain new experiences. They are an easy couple to get along and socialize with and we really enjoyed having them around. As such, we would strongly recommend them to any future hosts looking for dependable, adaptable, and friendly Workawayers. We wish them all the best in their future travels would welcome them back anytime.

What an adventurous time I had staying with Ankaret. Every day was exciting and unpredictable. I have never seen a 93 year old which so much positive energy! Although Ankaret had some health issues during my stay, we had a lot of fun together. We went out for delicious coffees, cinnamon buns and world famous "Wheelers Pancakes". We explored an old mine together and almost run out of gas on our trip back. At the weekends we visited some local country fairs, which really gave me an insight in daily life in southern Ontario. Ankaret also introduced me to family and friends which were all very welcoming and interesting characters. During the lovely summer afternoons I loved sitting in the garden under the big tree next to the museum, having the obligatory tee or a glas of wine. Ankaret's two lovely cats would already wait for us either sleeping in the sun or demanding their daily cuddlings. In addition to all that, we did, what I actually came for, we completed an inventory of Ankaret's basketry museum and collected many ideas for the museum's 10th anniversary in 2026. I also helped her, if problems with her ipad occured or if she had trouble reading something because of her eyesight. During my stay Ankaret taught me, how to make two different baskets and I'm pretty sure I've found a new hobby I could go on and on... I can't imagine, I only stayed for four weeks. I can assure you, there's definitly much more to do in the Lanark Highlands area then you might think (e.g. bingo, euchre, concerts, baseball, pottery...). To explore most of it, I highly recommend to have your own car, which I gladly had. Thanks Ankaret for sharing your life with me and giving me a new hobby! All the best for you and your museum! We see eachother next year for your anniversary!

Marie has been an outstanding addition to our housekeeping team since starting three months ago. She brings a truly positive and energetic attitude to the role every day, which is infectious and helps lift the spirits of her colleagues. Marie excels in her core duties of cleaning and preparing guest rooms. She is efficient, maintains high standards of cleanliness, and quickly learned our hotel's specific procedures. I hope to see you again!!

Very nice experience here. Kate is a hand work woman, being busy all day. She looks strong, with soft and warm heart. She takes care of all there. The first time I take care of puppies, soooooo cute and adorable. Since I arrived, 15 puppies there, cleaned the puppies’ beds, cleaned shit, fed them, accompanied them, just like looking after kids. Digging garlic, replanting garlic, collecting onions let me learn a lot. Placing cardboard is to stop weeds growing and cultivating the distance between the garlic, I enjoyed it in the sunny days. Making bee food and feeding them, Kate shared beekeepers’ tips and knowledge with me. I also shared how to make sushi with her, we cooked together with pleasure, healthy and tasty sushi’s night, unforgettable.

I spent almost two months in June and July volunteering at Cynthia and Geronimo’s community farm, and it was such a special experience. From the very first day, I felt completely welcomed, not just by Cynthia and Geronimo, but also by their family and the other volunteers. There’s something truly genuine about the way they open their home and share their way of life. Cynthia and Geronimo are incredibly warm, generous, and down-to-earth people. I learned so much from them, about vegetables, sustainable living, and what it means to be part of a small, close-knit community farm where everything and everyone plays a role. Almost everything grown and produced on the farm is shared among those who live there, which makes every meal feel meaningful and connected to the work we do. One of the unique things about the farm is the roses, and if you’re lucky enough to be there at the right time, you’ll get to see and smell! something truly magical. I won’t spoil the surprise, but it’s an experience that stays with you. Right after the roses came the cherries, harvesting them is a lot fun and you won’t go hungry picking them. Just be warned; if you’re bringing the cherries back to the house, keep an eye out for the Cherry Queen herself (Cynthia)! She’ll fight you for every last one… all in good fun, of course. The accommodation is charming, it fits perfectly with the countryside atmosphere and makes you feel like you’re living a storybook version of rural life. The meals shared around the table, the laughter, the peaceful surroundings, all of it added up to a time I’ll always remember fondly. I’d absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking to reconnect with nature, community, and themselves. I’d go back in a heartbeat to spend more time with Cynthia, Geronimo, and everyone who makes this part of Switzerland so special.

We found the family easy to work with. They have a wide variety of tasks that can be done and you can suggest a task / project you want to work on. This includes regular farm chores - help with animals or gardening or the many things to keep a farm going including DYI projects. As well as some household chores. They didn’t ask you to do something outside your skillset or something you hated to do. They discussed beforehand what they wanted and are fine if you have suggestions or want clarification. Tasks didn’t have to be perfect but if you were good at something they were very grateful for a job well done. We were invited (our choice) to come to Emily’s events (sports or showing farm animals) and we enjoyed those. They are about a 15 min drive from a small town that has some cute coffee shops and a variety of restaurants and basic stores. There are plenty of outdoor things to do on the property and nearby (berry picking, hiking, nearby creek). We became friends and will certainly stop by when we are in the area again and they have an open invitation to join us on our explorations. We were there with our RV and they provided services.

Paolo was a wonderful volunteer at our hostel. From the first day, he showed great enthusiasm, responsibility, and a positive attitude. He was always ready to help with any task — from welcoming guests and keeping the space tidy to assisting with daily activities. He got along very well with everyone, bringing good energy and kindness to the team and guests alike. His reliability and cheerful personality made a real difference during his stay. We highly recommend Paolo to any future host — he is hardworking, respectful, and a pleasure to have around. Thank you, Paolo, for all your help and good vibes!

Staying with this family was an amazing experience, we honestly couldn’t have hoped for a better first Workaway! The family was incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous. We immediately felt at home and learned so much from them. They made us discover Norway in such an authentic and beautiful way, and we’ll never forget all the great moments we shared together. Thank you so much for everything, we truly recommend this family to anyone looking for an unforgettable Workaway experience! ❤️

I had the best time volunteering with the family. I was there from August 16 to September 5 (3 weeks). Every single day was a great experience. Tatsuya is such a wonderful human with so much zeal for life and always full of energy. We had some deep and meaningful conversations. Akane is truly a wonderful mother. Watching her care for Haru-chan was such a joy. She is also a wonderful cook and I had a chance to eat so many Japanese delicacies. And sweet little Haru-chan was so much fun to be with. I loved watching her grow, expressing her emotions, learning new things everyday and interacting with the world. Overall, I was able to get a true perspective on how a Japanese family's day to day life looks like which was one of my purpose of doing this workaway. The room was super comfortable and my day to day was fun and I'm glad I got to help in a meaningful way and be a part of Haru-chan's childhood. Additionally, I feel like I gained a true friendship with them. I can't wait to visit them again and hope to always keep in touch. I cannot recommend them enough for anyone who wants have a beautiful volunteering experience in Japan.

The days flew by at Liza's place, and we were able to enjoy our first workaway assignment with her. Liza made it very easy for us with her relaxed manner and her exciting stories about her life. We were able to do whatever we enjoyed: repair fences, build a big fire in the garden, cut wood with a chainsaw, etc. And the animals were of course a highlight, not only for the children. The dogs and ponies, and of course Bobby the cat, are super sweet and very cute. The walks were always great, and the children had a lot of fun riding and grooming the Shetland ponies. The dogs quickly got used to us and loved being petted. Overall, it was an exciting insight into a small Bulgarian village and we were very happy to meet Liza. When we are in the area again, we will gladly come back.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to the lovely hosts, Pantila, Mae Ni, Jell! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Kadsala gave me a quiet, peaceful environment near to nature, where my mind could be undisturbed. I helped out with teaching and various other tasks, and at the same time had enough space to work on my own projects . Teaching English to the kids was the main work, and I have to say I found it very nourishing. I really learnt a lot from this - being with around 15 young kids can be steep learning curve, but you grow a lot from it. You have to think on your feet sometimes! But they are the most adorable children. The hosts are experienced with having volunteers, and took us to various markets around the area. we also learnt how to cook Thai food, which was great! I wish the very best of luck to the whole Kadsala family, and great success with all the projects!! Thanks again, Vlad
