The three-week stay with Tim and Cathrine was my first experience as a volunteer. It was a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The accommodations were very comfortable. I had my own room in a separate guesthouse. The guesthouse also had a modern bathroom and a nice common room. My responsibilities included cleaning the chicken coop, feeding the chickens and collecting eggs, trimming hedges, watering the sheep, and much more. In the morning, the tasks were discussed and assigned. There was never too much work; especially in the afternoon, I had plenty of free time. Then I cycled to a nearby lake or visited the pretty town of Kolding. I would also like to particularly mention the really good three meals a day. I really enjoyed my time there and will miss the sheep and the friendly dogs.

Sergio was very flexible and understanding with little to no expectations, which was amazing. We enjoyed each other company through boardgames mostly, because it was raining a lot and although we didn't spend a lot of days together, nor we did a lot of work, he had the initiative to be helpful and active whenever he could help out. He is definitely a workawayer that I would recommend. ATTENTION: He is really allergic to olives and he might forget to tell you! 😆

Vincent was my very first WorkAway guest, and I was curious to see how we would collaborate—both in the house and with the various tasks I needed help with. From the start, Vincent proved to be a kind, polite, and genuinely helpful person. He showed great initiative, assisting with gardening and painting the house, and even took care of the dishes without being asked. I truly appreciated his ability to notice what needed doing and step in naturally 👌 Vincent has a lovely balance of being both talkative and a bit shy, which made our time working together enjoyable and relaxed. Outside of work hours, he liked to go for walks, bike rides, or simply unwind in his room. All in all, Vincent was a pleasure to host, and I’m grateful for the positive experience he gave me as a first-time WorkAway host.

esther is a brave heart ready to help where ever help is needed. i am very lucky that she found a long way from hellsinki to saulxures. what a journey. her presence is quiet, tres agreable and sweet in its intention. her view on the world is very interesting, in german we say: stille wasser gründen tief. which means the quiet people have a special depth to ad to the world. that s a fine offering you will get if you meet esther. her help was impecable, trustworthy, clean, tidy. she brought me candys from finland and i am still enjoying them. pipparminttusuklaakaramelli! all the best to you esther, thank you so much! hope to cross path again.

Jo is a truly wonderful and welcoming host — kind, understanding, and always ready to help. She made me feel at home from the moment I arrived, and working with her was a real pleasure. She is patient, cooperative, and positive, which made the work enjoyable and fulfilling. The only bad part was having to leave such a warm and peaceful place. Thank you so much, Jo, for your kindness and generosity — I would be delighted to return one day!

Wow what to say to this amazing place and people? After two summers here, this place has a big piece of my heart. It is a second home for me and Davide and Linda incredible friends! Be at this place a is a truly special experience. Davide and Linda are incredibly warm, caring, and welcoming — they make you feel part of their family from day one. There’s always something meaningful to do and learn, from cooking delicious traditional Italian recipes (from their grandmas too) to gardening, DIY projects, or chopping wood, so you never get bored, but you never feel pressure either — only support, kindness and a lot of fun. Davide and Linda are incredible, very hard-worker and open-minded and always trying to adapt to your needs — from food requests to different time schedules. The refuge is magical: fully off-grid but still comfortable. There are many hiking trails around this place and Azadì (after stealing your heart) will be your best companion on your explorations. The view from the refuge is simple but beautiful, different and magical every day. Perfect place for nature and mountain lovers! I can’t wait to return! ❤️ Grazie Grazie Grazie! 🥰❤️❤️

After spending nearly 3 weeks at this place for my first workaway in Turkey, I have to say I couldn’t have picked a better place to ease into volunteering in Turkey. The staff at the farm were all very friendly and helpful, as have been commented on by most of the other reviewers here, especially Burak, the head honcho, and Berk who had the unenviable task of organising the volunteers, sometimes numbering 28! They were both always available, whether around the farm or via text messages. Thank you, Burak for taking me on though I had not even done my first workaway when I first contacted you. Thank you Berk for being so patient with someone who has little knowledge of farming, and who is a little more ‘mature’ than the mostly younger volunteers, explaining clearly (more than once at times) how the task was to be completed. I won’t describe what work is required as other reviews are very clear about this. Just would like to add that it is a commerical farm, so while the tasks are relatively simple, there are times when they require a bit more effort and diligence. Saying this not to discourage anyone, but rather, for potential volunteers to remember that we are not purely on a holiday. As part of our Workaway travels, we offer a bit of our time to our hosts who in turn provide us food and lodging, so when it’s time to work, we really should put in the effort to get the task done accordingly. There is plenty of down time after work, which typically takes up only half a day, plus 2 days of rest on the weekends. Finally, thanks to the other volunteers who made my stay memorable. It was quite an experience (yes, you can still teach an old dog new tricks) to learn to live with people (most quite a lot younger than me!) from so many diverse countries and cultures, professional and personal interests (many very talented folks when I was there!)….most eye-opening was discovering the different reasons and ways people are travelling. This allowed for a wonderful exchange of ideas and tips, and was a source of inspiration for all of us who are on the road right now. There are many long-term (like more than a month), and repeat volunteers at this farm. There’s a very good reason for this. Go check it out yourself!

Lino and Bea are genuinely such kind and joyous people that my stay here with them was wonderful, it felt like we have met before and they treated me like their close friend and I got to meet their other friends and family who were all amazingly wonderful. My stay was right after the Sicilian wildfires so my main jobs were to do with watering and general maintenance of the land, even with the past wildfires though I could see how tranquil and serene the land and area itself was, truly a relaxing and magnificent experience thanks to Bea's and Linos kind characters!

As this is the first place I have visited and lived in Europe, it is warm and comfortable, offering delicious food, and everyone is very friendly and approachable. Mukiti is very enthusiastic. I love her and everything in her life. Her life experiences are so rich, and they have brought me one unforgettable, interesting, and memorable story after another. I will tell these interesting stories to my friends. I also made many interesting friends and heard more interesting and unforgettable stories. In summary, this was a very perfect and unforgettable life experience. I hope that in the future, there will be more people who love life and have talents coming here. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to come here. I hope we can come here again in the future, and I also hope that we can go to India with you to make interesting documentaries.

My experience at Villa was very special. I learned a lot about Argentinian culture, the area around Necochea and el campo, myself and Spanish :). But what made this experience unforgettable were the people. I was a bit scared at first because it was my first time solo traveling and my Spanish is not the best, but Agustin made me feel very welcome! Together with Joni and Seba they are creating a very inspirational place at the countryside. Villa has beautiful green land with nice look-outs on the environment. Furthermore, it consists of and elegant old farm with multiple bedrooms, a living, kitchen and bathroom. Sometimes it was cold because it was winter when I arrived, but for me this was not a problem because of the fireplace. I slept amazing because of the peace surrounding me and it was really nice I had my own room. We passed the days with planting, cleaning, cooking, laughing, weeding, cuddling with Marea, Olive and Chapu (the cats and dog:)), some yoga, some wine and talking (sometimes with a translator hahaha). I had a lot of time to think, enjoy the nature and do things I normally don’t make time for (such as reading and drawing). If I could have prolonged my stay I would have, but now I just now I need to come back;)! Would 100% recommend!

Another well-traveled soul who brought us all the positive vibes she collected along her journeys. Sweet, quiet, always neat, and with a constant lovely smile. She agreed to join us just for accommodation since our daily chores only took about two hours. She helped with cleaning and took care of our cats — feeding them, cuddling them, and keeping their space tidy. We had plenty of free time, so we explored the island together, walked around, laughed, played, and enjoyed every moment. Thank you so much, my dear Anita, for spending time with me I really hope our paths cross again someday. Wishing you all the best!

I stayed 2 weeks with Fleur and Neil on their beautiful property doing some building and gardening work. They always made sure I was comfortable and well fed throughout my stay. They are in interested in cultural exchange and conversation and also respect space. I really enjoyed spending time in the garden, in the home and exploring Eindhoven and the surrounds. They also cooks very nice seasonal food from the garden. It was a lovely stay and would stay again :)

Sebastian and Helen are hard-working and very capable. They are good timekeepers and always willing to learn new skills. Sebastian is very handy and works well with Helen. They had their own car, so were able to be really independent, and I loved that they were so willing to include the other workawayer who was travelling solo. I think any host will be very happy to have them help, and I will be looking forward to hosting them again in the future.

I loved my experience at this p;ace. If you really care about horses, it’s really endearing to be able to help them. As other workawayers have said, the daily routine consists of a morning walk with the tourists that come and visit the place. We go to the beach and bathe the horses, all the while educating about the situation of the horses, that has really been improving since the sanctuary has been established 10 years ago (you’ll see by yourself, an overwhelming majority of the working horses on Gili T are in excellent shape). We usually finish this walk around 8:40, and then we can do as we want for a bit. Most workawayers do diving lessons at the place we’re staying at. Otherwise you can always shop, rent a bike and go around the island, snorkel, sleep, really the life is great there. Then at 4pm we go back to the stable, or to the paddock for a second walk (it depends whether there are tourists or no), and we get to feed and groom the horses. It was personally my favourite time, because you get to really enjoy your connection with the horses. You see new ones come in, some that were in bad shape initially get progressively better, the foals playing with their moms, all the horses socializing. Usually we end this routine at around 5:30pm, and once again we’re free to do as we please after that. There is a really nice open air cinema not even 100m away from the hotel, which was really the best. And of course, you get to meet awesome other workawayers with whom you are sharing the room. It was my first workaway and I still think about how nice it was of an experience ! Thanks again for having me !

Initially we only planned on staying one week, but we ended up extending our stay for another week with Marco after having such a wonderful time. We enjoyed his beautiful home, the surrounding nature, walking to the sea nearby, and swimming in the pool every day after completing our work for the day. We become a family while sharing stories over delicious fresh food from the garden and wine from Marco's vineyards. This Workaway is perfect if you want to experience local Turkish life in a gorgeous region of Türkiye. Marco's generosity and friendly approach made us feel so at home and we left with the best memories. The tasks depend on the season of your arrival. You can experience the olive and grape harvests as well as many other fruits like avocados and figs that are in Marco's garden. We helped with making wine, uncovering/ covering fruit trees and grape vines, sanding, and painting as our work. We were also able to visit the surrounding towns, see stunning viewpoints of the sea, dive for fish, go snorkeling, and explore a nearby castle on an island. No matter what we guarantee you will have an incredible time here helping. Marco is such a kind and thoughtful person.

Alessandro spent two weeks at my garden, and he is a really hardworking and nice guy. We had a great time together and he always did everything with a big smile! 😊 He helped with many different tasks, like chopping firewood, building a dead hedge, painting, building paths in the garden, helping with constructing my roof, reorganizing my whole compost area, and even participate in a YouTube video for my channel. He also cut the hair of one of my other workawayers - and I can see that he is a really good barber! All in all I only have positive things to say about Alessandro, and I very much hope he comes back another time.
