Although they were with us for only a short time, it still became clear that Noemi and Paul are a very kind young couple, radiating curiosity for knowledge and a thirst for adventure. They are good-hearted, peaceful people who can find their footing anywhere. It’s wonderful to see how, at such a young age, they dare to think so differently from the average person.

We had a really great time staying with Dalibor and Marina ! They were very open and welcoming from the start and made us feel comfortable right away. We learned a lot from them about permaculture, they took the time to explain things and share their knowledge. The food was absolutely delicious (seriously, every meal was amazing!), and we really appreciated their kindness and generosity. Their dog is super friendly and added even more joy to our stay 🐶 We definitely recommend this Workaway experience to anyone who has the chance to come — you’ll learn a lot, eat great food, and spend time with wonderful people. Thank you again for everything ! 😊

Birte was a lovely guest to have stay with us for two weeks. She approached her work with a great attitude and genuine care for the animals — it was clear she enjoyed spending time outdoors with them. Birte was independent, respectful, and easy to communicate with. We appreciated her honesty, her organisation, and her thoughtful approach to everything she did. Marie, what an absolute pleasure it was having you stay with us — six weeks went by far too quickly! From day one, your warmth, laughter, and positive energy filled our home (and the paddocks!). You approached every task with such enthusiasm and care, and it was lovely to see how naturally you connected with the horses, dogs, and the rhythm of farm life. We’ll certainly miss your morning chats with the horses and your gentle way with Dusty, Rosie, and George — they definitely noticed when you left! It means a lot to us that you enjoyed your time here and embraced everything from the hard work to the peaceful moments in nature. You’ve left a real mark here, and we’ll always welcome you back with open arms whenever you find your way back to Australia. Lea was here with her friend Leo for a short n sweet visit. They opened my eyes, how great could a quick workaway stay be. They were both very upbeat, they took their helping duty very seriously - kept on weeding out all the nutorious grasses for 3 days straight. Also, helped with cooking generally were very adoptable to my daily life it felt very easy to host them. Both Lea and Leo were very positive and kind, so all I can say is thank you for your visit and if they are ever coming your way, you should meet them. PS I'm sure they are also just as fun individually like they are as a duo.

I initially planned to stay here for 1.5 months but ended up staying for 4. I was there towards the end of summer into the fall. The summer days were a bit longer with summer camp in session. You will be helping with a lot of crafts with the kids during that time. When the summer was over it was just the evening classes which were 2 or 4 hours each day. It was a great experience and a super great place for any first time teachers. The classes are small (4-10 kids), the staff is super helpful, and the lesson plans are easy to follow. The staff are super friendly, although sometimes a bit shy. The home stay was also about 100 meters away from the school, so super easy to get there and the roommates were great too. There's plenty to do near hai phong as well. Here's a few of my favorite spots: Cat ba island, Yen tu mountain, do son beach, chua long hoa and nearby trails. Duy will probably also invite you to visit his family at some point. They are super friendly and i recommend you go. So in summary: great people, awesome work experience, and lots to do nearby. You should definitely book this workaway 👍

We especially appreciate you dedicating your time to teaching the children. They absolutely adored you, and your energy and patience made a real difference. We know teaching 15 kids can be a challenge, but you handled it so well! We're glad you felt the peace of nature here and that you had the space for your own projects. Petr and his family instantly greeted me like I was one of them. I am very thankful I found them and their small paradise in Shroma!! The tasks varied from cooking delicious meals for the team and cleaning around the house, I also did some gardening because I could not resist their tomato crops :) But nothing was too intense or difficult; we were very well taken care of! I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking peace, amazing views, and a great set of people around you. Hope to be back soon, Madloba!!

We loved having Jana part of our family this past summer. She is punctual, reliable, friendly, respectful and always came up with ideas of what she could do for extra work around the house. She gave 100% attention to what she was doing and was always willing to be part of our family outings.

L&E were a tremendous help around our home, especially with yardwork and weeding — their hard work made such a difference! They also jumped in with daily tasks like laundry and cleaning, always with a positive attitude. Beyond the chores, both of them brought kindness, patience, and playfulness to our toddlers, which meant a lot to our family. Wishing you both all the best on your next adventure — we hope our paths cross again soon!

Erinnerungen an die Zeit mit Hanne erfüllen mich mit Freude und Dankbarkeit! Von Anfang an fühlte sich unsere Begegnung durch gegenseitig ansteckenden Humor fröhlich und leicht an. Unvoreingenommen tauchte Hanne in unser Bergleben ein und prägte dieses mit Gelassenheit und offener Bereitschaft gegenüber unseren täglichen Aufgaben. Die respektvolle und achtsame Präsenz im Haus, gepaart mit einer feinfühligen Ader für die umgebende Natur und die Tiere beeindruckte mich sehr. Durch Hanne’s strukturiertes mitdenken und effiziente Herangehensweise war unsere praktische Zusammenarbeit willkommene Entlastung und zugleich Bereicherung. „Sahnehäubchen oben drauf!“ Hanne’s kulinarische Kochkünste beglückten mich sehr. TiLO, mein treuer und „hoch betagter“ Begleiter, sowie die beiden „pupertierenden Langohren“ ROBiN & LiWi fühlten sich in Hanne‘s Anwesenheit und Präsenz gut aufgehoben und wohl. Zu guter letzt möchte ich hervorheben, dass mich der sportliche Umgang von Hanne in der Zeit der nassen, kühlen und nebligen Tage sehr beeindruckt hat! „NEBELEBEN lässt grüssen“ ;-).

We really enjoyed our stay with Janaka. We stayed with Janaka's family who were lovely, and we felt really welcomed, especially by his daughters. We went on trips to the river and played lots of games. We felt really lucky to have the experience. The students are great and the work is good, you have to use your initiative as there is not loads of guidance, but we didn't mind this. We also helped Janaka prepare some documents for the foundation which we enjoyed. We found communication a bit difficult at the start, we were often unsure what was happening, though this improved a lot throughout and decided to extend our stay 2 weeks! If you are considering this workaway just keep in mind that there can be some uncertainty, but also that it can be very rewarding. Overall we are really grateful to Janaka and his family and have really good memories of our stay, and the work of the foundation is really important. Thank you Janaka !

This was definitely a big highlight of my trip to Australia. I had planned to stay for a few weeks but ended up staying a month and a half on their beautiful property in Taloumbi. I immediately felt like part of the family. The knowledge and curiosity of the sons, River and Tao, are so inspiring and educational! They even opened up their home to my friends when they came to visit ♥️ I spent my days surfing the quiet beaches of the national park, working on great projects using raw materials from the land, and going on day trips with the family. I can’t recommend this experience enough if you want a truly unique stay with beautiful people and the chance to be part of the paradise they call home. Thank you, Lauren, Devon, River, and Tao! I hope I’ll see you again in the future!

This exchange was really well managed, the information provided was accurate and informative right from the initial contact . This attention to details meant no surprises and a thoroughly enjoyable week in beautiful surroundings. The students were fun and engaging, each with their own story to tell. It was a very rewarding and successful experience. I would thoroughly recommend the exchange to both students and teachers and would repeat the experience in a heartbeat.

We loved having Jeanne with us! From the start she fit into the routine with ease and was always kind, reliable, and full of positive energy. She truly cared about the horses and their well-being, and it showed in the way she handled them — whether during the morning beach walks with visitors or the quieter afternoons grooming and feeding at the stables. Jeanne also shared the horses’ rescue stories with genuine compassion, helping visitors understand the importance of what we do. She enjoyed every part of the experience, from seeing new rescues improve to playing with the foals, and the horses trusted her in return. It was her first Workaway but she took everything on with enthusiasm and an open heart. We’re so grateful she chose to spend her time with us and would welcome her back anytime!

Sabrina came to us twice, and both times she fit into the team straight away like she had always been here. With her strong horse knowledge and genuine dedication, she was a huge support for both the animals and the team. She didn’t just help with daily care but also guided beach walks, assisted with medical treatments, and was eager to learn about the differences in rescue work here compared to back home. Her biggest impact was with Shanley — thanks to Sabrina’s care and persistence, he’s now doing better than ever and she truly turned the odds for him. That level of commitment and love is rare, and we are so grateful for the time she spent with us. We’d welcome Sabrina back anytime, and any host would be lucky to have her!

We are so grateful to have hosted Mayang with us. From the very beginning she was kind, respectful, and full of positive energy. She arrived with no previous horse experience, but she was eager to learn, and by the time she left she had gained so much knowledge and confidence in horse care — which is exactly what we hope for in our volunteers. She took on all tasks with dedication, from feeding, grooming, and walking the horses to sharing their rescue stories with our visitors. She was also curious to learn more and even assisted in minor treatments, showing genuine care for the animals. It was rewarding to see her build trust with the horses, and we know they felt it too. Beyond the stables, she embraced everything we had to offer — diving, connecting with the local community, and forming friendships with staff and fellow volunteers. She appreciated the work we do here, and it meant a lot to us to see her so engaged. Thank you Mayang for your kind words in your review, and for all the love and effort you gave during your stay.
