Lara stayed with us during August. From the moment she arrived we connected and felt so comfortable with her. She was always happy, positive and engaging. My sons appreciated having her play with them, my youngest built a strong connection with Lara. I would recommend hosting Lara in your home.

We stayed for three weeks with this amazing family and everything went incredibly smoothly. They are awesome people, kind at heart, super welcoming, and very fun to be around. During our time with Diddi, Editka, and the kids, we had the opportunity to share stories, experiences, and points of view on many deep, interesting topics — and of course, good laughter! The work was never too demanding, nor did they ever push us hard; on the contrary, they gave us the chance to explore the beautiful nature of Iceland through the eyes of a local. Instructions on what to do were always clear, and together we would discuss how to take on assigned tasks according to their views/needs and the expertise we could share. They are beautiful people, and we spent real quality time with them. We are indeed grateful and happy we had the opportunity to connect with them through this platform — cannot recommend enough to go and share a bit of your lifetime with them. Oh, hi guys! I stayed one week with Putra and Maja. they were extremely nice and welcoming hosts, making me feel at home from the first minute. their home is surrounded by trees, it's a calm and clean place where I had my own little bungalow which was super nice. The local food made by Vitria and Maja is especially delicious. For the work: prepare to work independently and on your own. you can bring in own ideas and communicate with Putra what needs to be done in that moment. I helped setting up a web host provider, for example. overall, it was an extremely positive experience. I'd also recommend going on the trek with Putra or some of the guides from his company as they're definitely following the ethical guidelines of a jungle trek.

Miguel a passé 2 semaines chez moi et c'étaient de très bons moments. Il sait tout faire de ses mains, s'adapte, donne des idées, s'implique dans la conversation, partage plein d'expériences de ses 10 années de Workaway. Il est si volontaire que nous avons imaginé de nouveaux chantiers ensemble. Il a toujours été efficace et de bon conseil. Il s'intéresse beaucoup à l'art et rêve d'écrire bientôt un scenario de film. Je le recommande sans réserve ! Et suis prête à t'accueillir chez moi à nouveau quand tu veux !

Lucia stayed with us as a volunteer and was a great help in many ways! She supported us in the kitchen, helped with housekeeping and cleaning the rooms, and was also proactive in the garden and greenhouse. Lucia is kind, easygoing, and reliable — always ready to lend a hand where needed. She brought a lovely energy to the team, and we truly appreciated her help and company. 🌿✨

What a wonderful experience! I had the absolute pleasure of staying with Jean-Luc and Salome (not to mention Valentine, Jean-Michel, and Alexi), for two weeks at the end of August. From the beginning Jean-Luc and his family were incredibly welcoming, and I instantly felt comfortable in their lovely chalet nestled in the hills of Villard-Sur-Duron. The work at Jean-Luc's place was easy and quite fun. Often with Jean-Luc and sometimes other family members, we worked to extract a tree from the river on the property, before chopping and stacking the wood. Additionally, I weeded various areas of the premises, and for the first few days I helped Jean-Luc and Alexi build and install doors and shelves for a closet. There weren't many woodworking projects to work on while I was there, but I was more than happy to work outdoors in such a beautiful area, and when we did do woodworking projects, it was great fun to learn how to use Jean-Luc's plethora of woodworking instruments. On days I wasn't working, Jean-Luc was kind enough to take me on a few hikes in the area which were absolutely stunning. One day we hiked the Grand-Mont (I think), and another we did a very technical hike which had incredible views of Mont Blanc. On days where Jean-Luc wasn't available I was easily able to hike from the house to Beaufort or up to the local ski resort, and one evening Valentine and Jean-Michel took me to spectate the UTMB runners; an inspiring experience. Overall this was a fantastic Workaway, and I would highly recommend it to people who enjoy working with their hands, and those who love the outdoors. I am extremely grateful for Jean-Luc and his family's hospitality over my two week stay, and I hope to come back and visit Villard-Sur-Duron again soon. Merci beaucoup!

We had such an awesome time having Sophia volunteer with us. She stayed with us for a month and absolutely crushed it with content creation. She made some really cool content for our Insta page. Apart from that, she brought such a fun and positive vibe to the hostel. Always smiling, chatting, and spreading good energy all around. We honestly loved having her here. She’s super jolly, creative, and full of life! Overall we had a pleasant volunteering experience with her.

It has been a great pleasure to host Hannah and Bruno in our house. It has been short but good fun. Thanks for your help with the works outside and also for the interesting chats and the yummy food you prepared for us! It was my first Workaway experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. I stayed with Kristy and her family for two months, and from the very first day, they made me feel welcome and part of their home. During my stay, I helped with different tasks around the house and with the kids. A big part of the role is driving the children to activities and friends houses. The work could be quite hard at times, but it was always rewarding and I had a lot of fun along the way. Kristy will give you many different things to do, but it’s up to you to organize your time and get them done. So being organized and independent is important. One of my favorite parts of my stay was the evenings on the veranda with Kristy — just talking, laughing, and enjoying the moment together. I also loved spending time with Lukey, the youngest, who always brought so much joy and energy into the days. We even got to celebrate his birthday together, which was really special for me. From the middle of my stay, I was lucky to meet another au pair who joined the family. We got along so well and became friends, it made the experience even better and more memorable. If I can give one piece of advice to future Workawayers, it’s that communication is key. Kristy gives you a lot of trust and freedom, but being open and keeping good communication makes everything smoother. I had such a good time, thank you so much for everything — these are memories I’ll always carry with me!

Keegan and Lauren stayed with us for a couple pf weeks end during that time Keegan seviced a few machines, both did some tiling and many more jobs. Always with enthousiasm. In the team they were definetely a binding factor and got on with eveyone. It was lovely hosting them and i very much recommend them to future hosts.

What a lovely young man! He was happy to help with any requests in a cheerful manner. And we had such interesting conversations on wide ranging subjects. He was an inspiration as he did not just see me as an old person but someone who still had things to offer in life! Would always be happy to host again. Thank you. And good luck for the future x

Lovely family (and dog). Great atmosphere and location in the middle of Mullumbimby. Lots of unfinished tasks to keep my sort of Workaway (repair, building stuff, and maintenance) busy. Accommodation was excellent. Food was excellent too. Definitely a great position to find myself in.

I had a very good time with Linda and her family! They are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful and made sure that I had a good time. I helped bringing or picking up the children from school, walking the dog, preparing meals, looking after the children and doing very light housework. Linda gave me very good advice where to go in my free time and I was even allowed to join them for little trips to beautiful places. We had nice conversations and funny moments full of laughter. Thank you very much!!!

Merci beaucoup to Alex and Amre for all their wonderful help during their stay! They put in great work clearing the land, preparing it for autumn, weeding, and upgrading the chicken coop. They also offered kind and steady support during a few unexpected pet emergencies. Both are hardworking, respectful, reliable, and have a natural way with animals. We shared lovely meals, nice conversations, fun games, and beautiful late summer swims together. I am writing to recommend Eulogio, who volunteered with our family for one month in September 2025. During this time, he showed himself to be a wonderful person who made a big difference in our lives. Eulogio was always eager to spend time with us and it was fun for both sides. He would often start conversations and showed genuine interest in getting to know our family better. His friendly personality made everyone feel comfortable around him. Although he had no previous experience in DIY projects, he worked very hard and paid great attention to every detail. What particularly impressed us was that he always went the extra mile in every project he undertook. He never settled for "good enough" and consistently put in additional effort to make things better. He helped us with many home projects and garden work. Without Eulogio I would never acomplished some jobs. He also spent a lot of time playing board games with our children, which they really enjoyed. Eulogio speaks excellent English with a New York accent, and he was very patient in teaching us new English words and phrases. He always took the time to explain things clearly when we didn't understand something. What made Eulogio special was how real and honest he was. Even though cooking wasn't his strong point, his many other good qualities more than made up for this. By the end of his stay, he had become like a member of our family. When he left, we all felt very sad, and we still miss him today. No words can truly capture the joy and happiness we felt during his time with us. The friendship we built with Eulogio during his month with us will stay in our hearts for a long time. His positive attitude and willingness to help made him a joy to have around. I strongly recommend Eulogio for any future position. His hard work, patience, friendly nature, and dedication to going above and beyond would make him a great addition to any team or workplace.

Although they were with us for only a short time, it still became clear that Noemi and Paul are a very kind young couple, radiating curiosity for knowledge and a thirst for adventure. They are good-hearted, peaceful people who can find their footing anywhere. It’s wonderful to see how, at such a young age, they dare to think so differently from the average person.

We had a really great time staying with Dalibor and Marina ! They were very open and welcoming from the start and made us feel comfortable right away. We learned a lot from them about permaculture, they took the time to explain things and share their knowledge. The food was absolutely delicious (seriously, every meal was amazing!), and we really appreciated their kindness and generosity. Their dog is super friendly and added even more joy to our stay 🐶 We definitely recommend this Workaway experience to anyone who has the chance to come — you’ll learn a lot, eat great food, and spend time with wonderful people.
