Beatriz is very active,friendly, vigorous and enthusiastic. She helped me to prepare garden beds for winter and give great input in the house repairing with mixing many buckets of lime paint and mortar. She has interested in her free time to explore nature and culture objects all around walking, by bicycle, bus or hitchhiking. I spent nice time in conversation with her.

I spent ten weeks at the Ashram and my time there was truly special. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to everyone. The community is incredibly welcoming. The onboarding process is seamless, and I felt immediately integrated and well taken care of. I worked mostly as part of the media team in the Ashram. The team is open-minded and provides a brilliant environment for creativity. I was given the opportunity to work on projects where I could be genuinely creative. The team during my stay became close friends. Every day felt less like working and more like a fun, fulfilling experience. The other aspect of the volunteer role was to participate in the Ashram schedule, which included meditations, satsangs, chanting, and daily asana practice. This is what makes it a unique opportunity - a combination of service and spiritual practice. Also, the Ashram is beauuuutiful. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. It was an amazing time of personal growth. Thank you for these 10 weeks!

Big thanks to Paul for a great work away experience. He is very kind and patient and his work routine was fair (4 hours each morning, 6 days a week). His farm is located in a beautifully peaceful spot in the forest, which is great for exploring and unwinding when not working. It's also very close to the beautiful town of Sertã, which has some handy shops. I also have to mention Paul's two gorgeous dogs and lovely cat - all of which I will miss. Overall, I can't fault my experience and certainly would return.

Axel was with us for 2 weeks. We were so fortunate to have him. He was amazing in every respect. He’s such a positive, happy person and was such good help, cheerful even when the weather or tasks were not pleasant. We went out of our way to make his stay as pleasant as possible, it was the least we could do in return. Consider yourself fortunate should you get a workaway request from him. We wish him well and hope we get to see him again sometime in the future.

Katja is a magnificent woman! She brought her positive attitude and optimism to my place with an open heart and mind, and left the property more abundant than when she arrived. :) Katja is a very spirited and gentle person. She is smiley and positive and willingly shares her life experience with enthusiasm and neutrality. She stayed here for more than a month to housesit and take care of the garden in the peak of the summer heat. I am eating pumpkin pie right now, only made possible by her diligence and devotion to the property! Katja saved the pumpkins!!! She is also a brilliant film maker and captured pieces of our project beautifully and gave me a huge asset for my personal development with her artistic skills! Thank you, Katja, for your magic, dedication, abundance, smile, hugs and LOVE. You know you are always welcome here and I know I will see you soon to share more magic.

I stayed with David, Aune, and their sweet dog Roko for three weeks, and I had such a wonderful time. The communication was clear, and the work was varied and interesting. I was invited to join the weekend retreats, which was such a beautiful experience. I had a lovely private room at the tea house and my own little spot in the kitchen where I could cook for myself. Most evenings we shared dinner together, I LOVED Aune's cooking. It’s a beautiful place to rest and practice yoga in the shala. David and Aune are incredibly kind people who made me feel right at home. Would definitely recommend staying at their beautiful home and retreat!!

Ashraf was a very pleasent acquaintance during the period he spent with me. I felt comfortable with him from the very beginning. He participated in the usual chores in the house in a natural and good way. He cooked delicious food and taught me to make Nice yogurt from regular milk bought in the store. We had many good conversations together about big and small things, also about more personal matter which I greatly appreciated. If others get the oppertunity I would highly recommend to host him for a period of time. Ashraf Will always be welcome back to pay me another visit.

Lucy was with us for about 2 months. What an honor for us! Lucy was such a help when we needed it the most, always smiling. She was a point of reference for artists, providing logistical, and communication support, and contributing to the good management of the residency and the realization of cultural events. We felt directly that she was member of our big community. She is very good with animals (we have dogs, cats, and parakeets) and you can tell she has lots of experience caring for them. She’s really smart and transmits positive energy, ready to work , taking good care of our house and the artist’s residency. Working with her was an absolute pleasure; she was respectful, reliable, and brought a wonderful sense of serenity to every task. All I can say is, if any host gets an application of her, it is a missed chance if you don’t invite her to your place for volunteering, she is absolutely one of the best. Lucy thank you so much for everything! You know you'll always be welcome. Mimma and Duccio, Enea ( the dog) , Ettore and Achille (the cats) will never forget your time here.

Simplemente maravillosa

My time here was absolutely amazing, and the best part for me was the incredible cultural exposure. I got to work closely with the team, and we had so much fun with constant football banter and hearing their crazy stories from their villages. I worked on a few different things during my stay. I started with the adobe house as a part of the construction team and then moved on to making videos for the team and the gardener, Clement, who is a true inspiration. I also spent some really peaceful time working in the garden itself. Irmgard was incredibly supportive from the very beginning. Even with her busy schedule, she always made time for a conversation or to help me with anything I needed. A wild experience I won't forget was falling asleep to the sounds of hyenas and lions at night, haha. I would definitely recommend this Workaway if you want a deep rooted cultural experience and to be part of such a warm and amazing community. It was truly something special and I definitely hope to be back some day. :)

We really enjoyed hosting Boris for a week. He was very polite, lovely manners, chatty and very clean and tidy. He was enthusiastic with the daily tasks and certainly worked to a high standard. My mother was delighted with work he did for her taking so much care and attention. I highly recommend Boris 😁

I had a wonderful time at Anja’s place in Füssen! Her animals are absolutely adorable, especially the Weight Watchers and the cats, and they never fail to make you smile throughout the day. During my stay, Anja taught me a lot of things and I learned so much, for which I’m truly grateful. There’s always something to do, so it was never boring. We also went to many different events where I got to experience authentic Bavarian traditions and customs firsthand. Rebecca (her niece) and her boyfriend Michi are both incredibly kind, welcoming, and so much fun to be around. They really make you feel at home and are always up for a good laugh or an interesting conversation. All in all, I can highly recommend Anja’s place to anyone who loves spending time with animals and being in nature, while also enjoying working independently.

I partecipated in this program for two weeks in December and I fell in love with the horses and the rescue center. I extended to a month, because I felt like I was learning so much and I was sharing moments with an amazing staff. After leaving, with the eyes full of tears, I spent all next few days spreading information about the 'horses in the gili island' and my volonteering experience. I texted again asking to come back to help for 20 more days. Hello, this is me one year after, still here in the rescue stable and diving center! 🤪 What to expect in this experience? The owner will teach you so much about animal care and threatments. The most important thing, you will learn about respect of different cultures and different point of view; you will learn to be curious and ask questions while travelling; you will learn how to take decisions, with love and respect for the surroundings. You will meet amazing people, local and from everywhere. And you will live in an amazing island, where every day the turtles hide between the waves and you hear the bells of the horses trotting down the street. If you're interested in exploring the underwater life, don't forget you will stay in the Diving Center. Be careful not to get addicted to diving!

He is super helpful for our local community(Language/Culture exchange program by English),all of people liked him and really miss him so much,hope to see him soon!! Thank you so much!!

Steph was with us for a short stay.. she was absolutely brilliant and a great help for us. Her tasks were, weeding and helping in my bakery. She was super thorough and took on the jobs with a great attitude. I would highly recommend Steph if she reaches out to you! Once you get her chatting she is a thoughtful and conscientious human and gives me a bit of hope for our future ✨ We would welcome her back anytime.

Ali was a good man, he worked really hard to help to take out workshop to create new one, he is also very good cheff if you want to except Ali I think is the best way to let him cook very tasty food. He is such a good cook from my point of view. Thank you Ali was lovely meeting you

Selma was a delight to have stay here in my home, we interacted really well, with lots of stimulating in depth conversation. It took her a few days to become acquainted with my dogs as Italian greyhounds are either full on or stand offish, it was very obvious that Selma was more use to being around her cats back at home then with dogs, however by the time Selma moved onto her next destination it was like her and the dogs had become family to each other. Selma had never patted a chicken let alone, been left to feed, water, collect eggs on her own, within a few day of experience working along side myself and repeating the required steps, Selma fell into the routine as though she had been doing it all her life. Selma did many chores here in my home, out in the garden and with the animals, and she was also left responsible to manage the home while I was away for a few day, with communication channels available at all times. Selma is quite happy to walk or ride a bike into town or even to the beach over quite a few kilometers, and enjoys having time out to catch up on reading and communicating to friends and family. When Selma commences a task it is best to give very clear instruction that do not have to many components to it as it can become quite over whelming to her, however once she commences a task, there is not stopping her from completing it even if it takes a few hours, just let her go until she completes it as the finish job always turns out 100%.

Beau was an absolute pleasure to host — a great worker, a kind person, and incredibly easy to have around. She approached every task with a positive attitude and genuine care, contributing thoughtfully and efficiently. Beau blended in effortlessly with us and brought a lovely energy to the space. I would highly recommend her to any future host or workplace. We wish her all the very best with the rest of her travels and future adventures.

These 3 weeks with Holly and Benny's family was unforgetable. Holly and Benny are both very kind and bring a lot of joy. They made me feeling as a member of the family and I will have amazing memories with them. They got plenty of animals (dogs, cats, horses, chickens), so it's definetely a place for animal lover. The region around is wonderful and got a lot to see. Mayo county is very beautiful, full of nature and interesting geographic elements.
