Claire and Adrien were excellent to have visit. They were dedicated to volunteering, mature and professional in their approach, fun and really interesting to have stay, and brought valuable life skills and experience. I am most apprectiave of their contribution,both to our home garden but also the community projects of Denmark Commuinty Garden and the Sanctuary cultural facility. They also readily joined in community events. I highly recommend them for any opportunity of their choice.

This was my first Workaway experience, and I’m so grateful I got to have it at Amanda’s! I stayed there for a little over five weeks — first as a Workawayer, then as a house and pet sitter — looking after her beautiful animals: two dogs, Bonnie and Ruby, and two cats, Leo and Spooky. Amanda is a strong, beautiful soul; we shared many great conversations, and I truly appreciated her caring nature. She lives with her son, Ollie, who will definitely become your friend if you cook him some bolognese! She also often takes care of rescued baby possums — when I was there, I got to meet (and cuddle!) the adorable Gumnut, the cutest addition to the family. The tasks are varied (basically, you’ll take care of the house and property, which gives a very satisfying feeling), and Amanda is super fair about how you want to organise your time — which makes it easy to make the most of the surroundings during your free hours. As a Workawayer, you’ll stay in a very comfortable caravan; as a house/pet sitter, you get to move into Amanda’s suite (to sleep with Bonnie and Ruby — who loooooove being walked around the neighbourhood), which is probably the most beautiful bedroom I’ve ever seen! The place is gorgeous: if you’re looking for peace and want to be surrounded by nature, yet live only 15–25 minutes from the ocean, cute markets (Eumundi and Yandina), and a vibrant town (Noosa), Amanda’s will be heaven for you. Finally, on the property, you’ll meet Gaia, Miranda, and Josh, who live in a separate caravan and tiny house. In other words, you’ll be surrounded by wonderful human beings (including Amanda and Ollie, in case it was not clear) who’ll make you feel part of a loving little community. Thank you again so much for this wonderful month — I’m already missing you all!

Barbara and Brian are fantastic people. Unfortunately, I was only able to spend 2 weeks with them, but even in such a short time, I really liked them. They were my first hosts, and they made sure that I had a great experience. I will miss the meals and conversations together. The meals were like a gastronomic adventure for me, everything was delicious, and the good company made it even better. Brian and I worked together a lot, I really respect him for his knowledge and experience, and by the end we became good friends. I hope we see each other again. Take care of yourselves!

Gabriella is a cheerful and an active perso. It was very nice to meet her. She is very committed to her duties during her stay. Thanks for being with us dear Gabi 🌹😊

Our one week at Hadassah and Jacks home was amazing. They were really welcoming and open. We had a great time working at their beautiful garden and the time flew by. Hadassah always gave us great instructions and told us exactly what and why she wanted us to do certain things. The working at the school garden was a great and enriching experience. We had really good food and talks! Thank you, wishing you all the best!

Our two weeks at Nigel, Merrin and Judys farm were amazing. They took a lot of time into explaining our tasks and creating a fun and comfortable work environment. We spent a lot of time weeding and feeding the pigs, also we chopped some trees, which tripped over - we felt like all the tasks were meaningful and we got a lot of background information about them. We loved the Thursday evening come togethers, tips for trips and cultural exchanges. Over all: a big recommendation! Wish you all the best!

I am very grateful for my time I spent on Kenan's farm. Kenan is a brilliant host and I have really enjoyed meeting him - he is very generous and he made sure that I was never hungry for very long! We also had fun together in the mountains and city. The food was amazing, and I had a lot of space and time to myself around the work. The farm is in a great setting and the work mainly revolved around the morning and evening milking, and I helped Ali and Mehmet around the farm in the day. I enjoyed spending time with them both and all in all it was a great introduction to dairy farming. thank you and I look forward to coming back one day

We had the pleasant experience of having Jack's collaboration, during his stay at our school. From the first day he proved to be a committed, responsible person with an excellent disposition for work. His permanence was very valuable, since he contributed not only his knowledge and skills, but also a positive energy that was reflected in the atmosphere of the team and in the classes. He became a host helping the new ones thanks to his initiative, kindness and sense of collaboration, for others, he was always willing to help, to guide the new colleagues, to guide them about the places of the town and explain to them how things worked at home and at school. His welcoming attitude made everyone feel welcome from the first moment, he maintained very good relations with the other volunteers and with the students. He always showed empathy, respect and collaboration, being an example of good coexistence. In the classroom, he knew how to connect with the students, motivate them and guide them. We miss him.

During her time with us, Stacey stood out for being a very loving, kind and attentive person with everyone. His tenderness and empathy made both the students and the team feel comfortable and appreciated. She demonstrated excellent teamwork, always willing to collaborate, listen and contribute ideas with a positive attitude. In addition, it easily adapted to our environment and contributed to the good atmosphere of coexistence. We remember her with great affection

We had the opportunity to have Claudia's collaboration in our school. Since his arrival, he easily adapted to both our team and the other volunteers, always showing a positive and collaborative attitude. She demonstrated excellent teaching skills: her classes were dynamic and well organized, and the students enjoyed learning with her. I stayed with Gee and her family for almost 2 weeks and had a lovely time. Gee replied almost immediately to my message and gave me a warm welcome. I stayed in an own cozy little house next to hers which was very nice as everyone had their privacy if wanted. Although they were on holiday for a week, the time we spent together was great, we had some good chats and Gee made me feel like home and included me in their family life. The jobs weren’t too hard and very fair and I felt really appreciated. I can only recommend staying with Gee and her family and would stay with them again any time.

Aston came as a guest and offer us to take some pics. He is a SUPERTALENTED photographer. He has a great eye and do really cool pics. Also, he’s a gentleman and a super nice person to have around.

It was my first time workaway experience. I stayed with Derm in Guanajuato and helped with cleaning the room, painting, and organizing things. He always made sure I had everything I needed and clearly explained what tasks to do, which made it easy to help. He also took me out for meals and made me feel very welcome. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality!

How to explain what i have experienced up there. One of the most intense moment in my life where i feel that this place gonna help me to find...me ! this place, volunteer, family member, johny, everyone, helps me in a way I couldn't imagine. I loved so much worshop, commun vegan dinner, art time, this gave me a lot of keys to be happy and align with myself in my future. I won't never forget this place 🙏

Many thanks for this amazing experience, i will never forget my stay in the village. I really loved take the time to observe and participate to the local life. The kids love English class and we can feel that we doing good for them. I have a little family now in batu layar, love them all, every smile miss me already 🥹🙏

I spent about 2 weeks with Suha and Millie at the Garden in August and I had such a wonderful time. Suha is very knowledgeable about permaculture and climbing, and to me, that's a perfect combination! I was able to practice my climbing and with the support of both Suha and Millie, and the other volunteers, I definitely improved and learned so much! We planted seeds, we visited a beautiful cave, we did a massive hike which ended in getting completely soaked in the pouring rain on the walk back, we went climbing a couple of times, we had a bonfire night and we saved the farm from getting flooded 😊 Because the schedule is so relaxed, I was able to really come to a place of rest within myself and I am the most grateful for that, to be honest. It is a beautiful space, surrounded by green and animal noises (and biting ants as well, but now I know how it feels to be paralysed for a second 😄). The daily yoga in the morning, the relaxed atmosphere, the beautiful people and animals (you will be able to get plenty of cuddles from the cats and dog btw 😊🧡) really made my stay at the Garden a time I will remember for a long time. isabella is a real ace. she adopted right away to life in the gulch, and along with her trusty companion jerry, she was right at home and knocked it right out of the park. She was very comfortable with any hands-on tasks. also very easy to be around. She is also a amateur photographer. And took some amazing pictures during her stay here. I think she'll go far.

My partner Jack and I stayed for 2 weeks at the end of August. Steve was a kind and communicative host. It was a lot of fun being tour guides as you get to meet many people from UK and beyond. It was also a joy to help out at the Medieval Weekend Festival! As it was light work setting up, packing down and running the coffee station, we were able to get involved with activities like firing the cannon and shooting a crossbow! Spending time with Steve and the reenactors was great, we felt very welcomed and there were a lot of interesting tales to be shared. The tower was a good place to recharge on our travels, as you can really slow down and focus your energy on whatever you bring with you, like an instrument or a book. We made use of the bikes that were there, they were our main transport in the time off as it's relatively far to walk to the surrounding villages. The living/ history of the tower is fascinating and it's surreal to live on the site for a period of time. The restoration dreams for the tower are admirable and exciting, we wish Steve and the society our love and support for the project! We'll be checking the updates in the future for sure.

We had a great week with Phil and his family. They took us in at short noticed and their communication was always clear which we appreciated, we felt comfortable immediately. The accommodation was a self contained flat which was nice as it gave us some privacy and had everything we needed but we always felt comfortable to spend time in the main house. All meals and food provided were excellent, we enjoyed making homemade pizzas with the girls and playing card games. The work we were asked to do was fair, we did a lot of weeding, and were trusted to be alone on the property and manage our own time. Daily walks with their dog Ferric and being supervised by their cats and chicken in the garden always made us smile. A great week and we would recommend to anyone. Thanks again :)
