I spent 3 weeks in this amazing place and I enjoyed every moment. Emily, the owner, is super nice as well as Angus and Charo and with the dogs you can just fall in love. The beforehand communication with Nikki was super easy, nice and quick as well. The volunteers space (dorm, bathroom and kitchen (outside)) are quite new. The beds are comfy. The cleaning and feeding in the morning and afternoon is quickly done if you are more volunteers and in-between I enjoyed to walk the dogs. While doing that you can explore the area around. There are some nice hikes to do. Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Pisac etc. are places not too far away and you can visit them on your free days. Thanks for having me. Lots of love, Melanie

Hannah was a joy to host right from the first moment. She is such a cheerful person and uplifts everyone around her. She only had to be told once how to do something or where to put something, and we knew we didn't have to worry about it. She's very mature for her age and conversations with her were always interesting. Her laughter was infectious. Especially when the two girls would play their games and work together. Always lots of laughs. They got along great. She even put up with Lawrence's many pranks and jokes! Hannah was always working with the horses, didn't have to be told to go out to do it. It's nice to see when workawayers show genuine interest in everything around them when they come here. She was always respectful, wanting to learn how to do things, and did them well. It's refreshing when you see someone do something with care. I also was happy to have her help at my markets. She was friendly and outgoing to my customers. All around, just a lovely girl with a great personality. Anyone would be lucky to host this sweet gal. Her month with us went too fast. Good luck in your studies! You'll always be welcome back.

I'm a bit late in posting this review but now that I'm back in Kansas and took one of my signature naps :) I'm refreshed and ready to tell you not to pass up on this opportunity to work with Luka and his family business. Spending almost the entire summer season with them was a truly awesome experience and one that I will remember forever. I made many friends for life during my time here and I look forward to returning in the future! I know Filip misses me :)

What an awesome time we had staying with Anna, Caspar and Felix, its been one of the highlights of our trip. Living on their school bus for a few weeks was such an exciting experience and they made us feel at home straight away. Caspar is an impressive guy with a lot of knowledge on so many things, we learned a lot working with him on the sauna and in the workshop. He helped us with our van and gave useful suggestions for the rest of our trip. Anna had an awesome understanding of the local area and pointed us towards some great climbing and touring spots. She also made some great food for us during our stay. Their son Felix is a little legend with endless energy, we had a lot of fun with him around the house and at the skatepark. These guys really opened their home and lives to us, with a perfect balance giving us space to explore on our own and inviting us into their family life and projects Couldn’t recommend a stay more.

I had such a great time staying at Beatrice and Marc’s place as my first workaway place. I could experience one part of France. Almost everything was new experience for me. Learning French cuisine including gratin, various kinds of jams and to always use copper pot, How the house was built and visiting wonderful places. Beatrice and Mathilde took me to beautiful places near Romans. The vercors, abbey, le marché, shoppings. Beatrice had such a good positive energy and so did their families and friends. The atmosphere was warm and would definitely want to visit again with better french. I miss playing skyjo with her:)

We arrived as a couple with two young girls and instantly felt at home on Gary and Rebecca’s Winlaw farm. The woods and fields were right there-no cars, no noise. For eight days we woke, ate, worked, wandered, maybe read on a stump, then wandered some more. We only had a few good hours with Gary, but he’s quietly magnetic. Rebecca was abroad, though even in his offhand mentions of her you could tell she’s the center of the place. We would have stayed longer if the weather hadn’t forced us out.

Michael was an amazing host. Such a beautiful and comfortable house to stay in. It was a good experience helping work on projects and leaving with a nice sense of pride and accomplishment. Never hesitated to ask Michael for anything and he was always on top of communication.

Laura stayed at my home for 2 weeks in July to take care of my cat, Pimpie, and she was truly amazing in every way! She took excellent care of Pimpie, sending regular updates and photos while we were on holiday, which made me feel completely at ease. She was extremely responsible, reliable, and proactive — cleaning the house, taking care of the litter, and making sure everything was well organized. On top of that, she was friendly, respectful, and thoughtful, following all instructions carefully while also bringing a positive energy into the home. It was clear she genuinely cared about Pimpie and the household. I would highly recommend Laura to any host and would be thrilled to welcome her back anytime!

My two-week stay in August was magnificent. I arrived expecting a small community, but finding such a large community in the first few days shocked me. However, I got used to it over time. Talking about the permaculture/premaculture garden, it was an enlightening experience for me. Seeing a scientific approach applied with the philosophical concepts of the Veda really amazed me, and I learned so many things from it, so many that I had to take notes from time to time ;) Thibu and Hanna are truly wonderful and helpful people, you can learn so much from them. The people who live in the community and the people who travel through it are magnificent, it really is a unique opportunity. I could say many other things about the magnificent food we ate in abundance every day, discovering their customs, and occasionally participating in their celebrations, which was an opportunity to open my mind even more. However, the thing that sums it all up is the fact that I am sure I will return to say hello to them in the future. See you soon! Ci Vediamo presto ;)

Werner hat mich direkt gut aufgenommen und wir haben viel zusammen unternommen. Wir haben sehr viel Spaß gehabt, zusammen Sport gemacht, abends auch mal weggegangen und hatten auch während der Arbeitszeit immer wieder lustige Momente gehabt. Ich habe auch durch ihn Morro viel besser kennen lernen können. Wirklich eine Erfahrungs fürs Leben! Ich werde definitiv zurück kommen und vermisse ihn/ die ganze Familie jetzt schon 😊

We had a really great time at Alexas and Holgers beautiful farm. From the beginning on we felt very welcome and actually kind of home- eventhough we stayed only one week. Alexa and Holger are very hospitable and will see you as a part of their family. There are many things to do on the farm and you are free to choose. Although this Workaway is not mainly about work but more about cultural exchange & get to know new people and their stories. Thanks to their open mindset we had a lot of interesting, inspiring and funny talks. We absolutely recommend this Workaway and wish we had more time there! Five stars are actually not enough for the wonderful time we had!

A really lovely trip. The family is caring and looks after you very well. It was my first time traveling alone and I have no regrets about my choice. Whenever I had a question or faced a small difficulty, Victon responded very quickly. We shared some wonderful moments of cultural exchange and discovery. Thank you so much for the warm welcome!

L'esperienza a casa di Gabriele è stata molto forte, soprattutto per una persona come me abituata a vivere in città e con dei ritmi abbastanza sostenuti. Ho scelto di proposito questa esperienza e sono contenta. Come ho già detto anche a lui, anche se sono rimasta pochi giorni, ho risposto ad alcune domande che mi ponevo da un po' di tempo. Abbiamo parlato tanto. Gabriele è una persona che sa ascoltare. Generosa e buona. Spero di tornarci anche solo per un weekend! Consigliato per chi vuole concedersi silenzio e riflessione sulla possibilità di vivere in modo diverso dal convenzionale. :))

I volunteered here with Meera for 1 month and it was a great experience. I helped with packing orders and planning, creating some social media content, I made many braclets and also went on a few trips to schools with Meera for her other job. I met 2 of the women when they can to visit and the flat. She also invited me to spend time in her home for her birthday which was special. You will have your own flat with kitchen, bathroom and balcony which was a haven when needing time away from the busy streets of Delhi ! The thing that stuck out for me the most is how inspiring Meera is. It was nice to see her passion and drive when it comes to her project. You can see how selfless and kind she is when working with the women and that her intentions are true. She is very calm, kind and patient. I really enjoyed the time we spent together. You are doing something really amazing here, I really wish you the best in the future and hope it can become everything you invision.

Angela et Peter forment un couple adorable. Ils vivent dans un endroit merveilleux qu'ils m'ont fait découvrir. Ils m'ont emmené en Italie du Nord (Tyrol du sud) où j'ai découvert des paysages fantastiques et des gens très accueillant. L'Italie du Sud est tout autant accueillante mais les paysages sont totalement différents. Angela m'a enseigné l'allemand avec une patience incroyable. J'ai fait de mon mieux pour améliorer son Français mais c'était beaucoup plus simple pour moi car son Français est vraiment très bon. Elle me l'a démontré en me faisant une visite guidée de la ville, en Français s'il vous plait ! Ah oui, il faut rencontrer cette dame qui mérite le détour. Garmisch-Partenkirchen est une ville à découvrir, tout comme la Bavière. Le mieux est d'avoir un niveau d'Allemand correct, en tout cas un peu mieux que le mien. Je mesure aujourd'hui la quantité de travail qu'il me reste à faire mais nous allons le continuer à distance (télétravail !) avec Angela. Merci encore à Angela et Peter et un bonjour particulier à leurs enfants Nicole et Andréas.

I stayed in Monte Chima for the month of August and it was an incredible lovely time. My group was diverse enough to have a ton of fun and cultural exchange and the work was very manageable. I wouldn't consider it very physical if you're used to working outside or as a craftsman but Marco always respected break times and strength limits, and so everyone was able to keep up with the work without any problems. We also had the opportunity to learn specific skills, such as splitting stones, using landscaping machines or felling trees properly. Marco took the time and explained everything in detail and let everyone who wanted to, try. He knows a lot and was really good at explaining so I highly recommend to take your time to listen to him. We lived in Monte Chima up at 1500m but this Workaway was still an opportunity for much social exchange with the regional people. In Menzonio, Marco will invite you for eating at his place, or you can go to some village festivities, drink wine at the bar, work with other people from the village and so on... Also, Buses are everywhere so you are absolutely not stuck in the mountains. Marco is a very hardworking person with a vision that I consider incredibly valuable. The projects he has already established, the ones he is planning, and everything that happens around him while he still pursues his paid work are all very important for sustainable communal and regional rural life, and perhaps even more so in the future. I think he can be a great motivator for young people who want to know how to build and maintain rural community and regain forgotten possibilities. Special shoutout to Silvia! We were very lucky that we were able to meet her, she gave us a garden tour (we got the vegetables from her garden), lots of smiles and was always really warm company.

Gatien was a pleasure to host. His communication was always clear, always topnotch. He had an open and curious spirit, combined with a solid work ethic, which made him someone easy to place trust in. It was a delight to share some moments with him, including with my soccer team. Fantastic experience, thanks Gatien.

Matteo & Camille are wonderful people to have around. They are a lovely mix of responsible and mature, yet also easy going and fun. I found them both to be very trustworthy people, and it was really a pleasure getting to know both of them. In any tasks that they had assigned, they performed them diligently and in good spirits. Thank you both!

Nisa – unfortunately a very short stay. Writing an application to the embassy in English and German was to no avail. This made the 12 days and the long journey all the more intense. Nisa was a great help in the garden, in the kitchen, and around the house. She carried out her work very carefully and responsibly. We had some wonderful moments in nature and on the road. Nisa showed great enthusiasm for Swiss traditions. Who knows, maybe the next visa will be longer... Thank you for everything!

Cleo and Stu were awesome. Super reliable - no need for any sort of supervision, just got on with stuff and achieved heaps in the time they had with us. Excellent conversation around the dinner table and great with the kids as well. Travel well guys, always welcome back!
