I had the pleasure of spending 11 days on board with Siobhan, and she was an absolute joy to have around. She brought great energy to the boat always positive, helpful, and easygoing. I really appreciated how well she balanced doing her own thing while still being a great part of the crew dynamic, joining me and my friend whenever she felt like it. She contributed naturally and showed initiative without ever needing to be asked, which is very important on a boat. I truly hope she comes back on board againshe is always welcome. Thank you very very mucho Sio sio!

It has been a wonderful experience working at Naceur's. He and the whole family welcomed me very warmly from the very beginning and I immediately felt at home. I really felt being just one more in their family. Both, Naceur and Fati, always helped me in diferent issues and it was very very easy to get along well with them and the lovely little ones. I could see many daily aspects of the moroccan culture and way of living. I enjoyed very much the explanations and conversations with them . Teaching their children has been very funny and satisfying. It is a sweet family and I think about them as my friends.

We hit the jackpot with our very first Workaway experience! Quite spontaneously, while looking for a Workaway place, we came across Agnes and Beatrice, who replied quickly and invited us to a video call right away. From the start, communication was great — expectations and wishes were clearly discussed. We helped them in their garden: weeding, chopping wood, concreting the chicken coop, building a table from old pallets, and more. Our hosts organized the tasks in a way that matched our strengths. At the same time, we had plenty of time to explore the island or simply enjoy our free time in the perfect accommodation — a beautiful spot on the property, yet separate from the main house. Throughout our stay, our hosts were incredibly thoughtful, bringing us fresh laundry or fruit from the garden and making sure we had everything we needed. We got along wonderfully with Beatrice and Agnes and can wholeheartedly recommend them to any Workawayer! Unfortunately, after this “jackpot,” it’ll be hard not to set the bar too high for our next hosts… Thank you for the amazing time!

I spent 8 days in total with Athir, and he turned out to great host all along! Even though half of my time in Tunisia we ended up staying in Tunis (due to schedule limitations or adverse weather), he spent a lot of time with me, showing me around, talking about his nation's history and commenting on their everyday life now, allowing me to get a first glimpse of his country's culture. Whenever possible he was driving me around with his car and while doing so we shared many interesting conversations and listened to great music. We also went out with his friends multiple times and he even organized taking us workawayers to a really nice local concert! He is generous and thoughtful, trying his best to make sure everyone is at ease and taken care of. Regarding to the workaway project itself, as I said, I only spent a handful of days in Takelsa, where we worked mainly on the superadobe dome. Work was physically demanding, but nothing too hard, and we took many breaks. Life there is pretty simple, but its peacefulness is rewarding - plus the sea and the forest are quite close, if you want to explore the surroundings. Athir is also very open to share his knowledge and teach his various skills from juggling to playing the bedir to traditional construction techniques and permaculture. And he is also genuinely curious to learn more from and about you, making it a great exchange overall. So, thanks once again, Athir, and best wishes with all your future projects :))

It was a real pleasure to host Monica 🌸 She stayed with our family for about three weeks and helped us teach English to our kids through fun games and daily activities. She was active, kind, and cooperative — the children really loved spending time with her ❤️ Her positive energy and respectful attitude made the experience truly enjoyable. She’s always welcome back to our home anytime 🌿

We spent 11 beautiful days at Biokovina. The location is truly stunning, nestled in the hillside of a traditional Bosnian village. It was lovely watching villagers prepare for winter, tending their gardens and chopping wood. From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and welcomed by Tali and Diego, who were wonderful hosts while Tom and Cara were away. We shared many delicious dinners, baked fresh sourdough, cookies, and had many great conversations. During our stay, our tasks included walking the dogs, cooking for everyone, and helping with some construction work. We absolutely loved spending time with the animals, each one had such a sweet personality, and Lilly the cat completely stole our hearts. She’s genuinely the best cat we’ve ever met. It hasn’t quite become a full wildlife rehabilitation sanctuary yet, but it’s heading in that direction. If that’s the kind of experience you’re expecting, just keep in mind it’s still working toward that vision We got along really well with the other volunteers, who were all kind and easy to live with. Unfortunately, one older volunteer’s rude and sexist behavior did affect the atmosphere at times. While this was disappointing, it didn’t take away from how special the place itself is, or how much we appreciated our time here overall. Thank you Biokovina, see you next time. X

I found a `home away from home` with Christine and Angelo at their beautiful house in the small historic town of Loudun, Nouvelle Aquitaine. From the first messages exchanged, their warmth and friendliness shone through. I spent a little over 2 weeks with them , and was not at all disappointed with my experience, my tasks were varied and interesting, doing a little French translation where I could, helping with daily chores like gardening and pruning, stripping / sanding some chairs in preparation for upholstery, polishing furniture, a little cooking and light housework. Angelo and Christine went over and above in their kindness shown to me , apart from their delicious home cooked meals, they included me at their social events, introduced me to their friends, brought me to their language exchange group, and even took me out for the whole day to experience other towns and areas of interest in the local area. I have been completely spoilt ! I look forward very much to returning to visit them next year. Je vous remercie bien, Clodagh

Emily is an excellent person. She came into our family at just the right time and was a great help with the housework. She was like an older daughter to us :). We had a lot of fun with her, always talking and laughing. The girls have fond memories of their big sister from Australia, who taught them ballet and watercolor painting. We hope everything goes well for you. We will always recommend Emily for all the values she has.

Such a warm and energetic couple. My husband and I stayed for two weeks with great accommodations and awesome food. The work is well organized and lots of fun if you like being around people. We had some of the best polish food and met life long friends. If you love to laugh and enjoy great food then we recommend.

Our time with Neri and Dori on the edge of Shebenik National Park was phenomenal! We didn't get to stay long, but we felt like part of the family from the get-go. We came in a bit of a lull in workload, but Dori showed us how to conduct the daily tasks and wood collection. Neri was great at providing info and incredibly considerate of us! The food Dori cooked was always delicious and usually accompanied by their super tasty homemade goats cheese.

An amazing and unforgettable experience! This is my first workaway, and it is the best experience I could have wished for. The place is stunning in its beauty, and it has everything you need in terms of equipment and conditions. Wherever you look, the island is revealed in all its beauty and power, and the farm is rich in plants, beautiful corners and history of the place. Pepe, Francesca ,Giada ,Margherita and Nonna Bianca are such special people and spending time with them is a privilege! At the shared meals there were many moments of laughter, interesting stories and experiences from family life, as well as open and attentive hearts for a real encounter and a desire to get to know each other. We did very different and interesting jobs, we got to learn new skills with a lot of patience and guidance from Pepe and Francesca, and their generosity and kindness in sharing with us their stories, dreams, and the products of their hard work. We painted, we trimmed, we planted, we built, we whitewashed, and I am so proud and happy to have taken part in the construction of this wonderful place. Thank you very much for everything!

very nice people finally from central america. We learned much about this wonderful country costa rica. Both Andres and Laura helped with all sorts of things and did their jobs really well. Due to their help we will have a lot of walnuts this winter. Their good mood cheered up even rainy days. Thank you both for all this.

We are very grateful for the experience here at Farm, and have learnt more about slower and healthy living. The farm holds a huge variety of vegetables and herbs alongside the animals. We also saw different jungle wildlife, such as a luwak sevit and oriental pied hornbills. All of the family are helpful and generous with their time and information. We did gardening, fed the chickens, cleaning and lawn mowing which we enjoyed. This has been a joyful moment in our life and we hope to one day return to this special place 🙏🏽 Thank you for having us.

Aubert stayed with us for three weeks and it was overall a very good experience. At the beginning I had a hard time to answer all his questions but once we got used to his artistic spirit we really enjoyed his company. He helped out with many things offering always more help. this was very kind and nice of him. He ate everything we prepared and was good company.

What a wonderful experience with Goda and Romas. As they entered our house we felt them like family and so they behaved. It was very nice to have them around, always willing to help out. We learned a lot about baltic states and had a wonderful time with them. They helped with fire wood and applejuice production and walnut collecting as well as chestnuts. it was easy to feed them as they liked everyting we prepared. we hope they really come back for the next years apple juice.

Having Marlene here was a blessing ! At a time where my health was momentarily failing she stepped up and took charge of all the chores ... Coordinating with the other workawayer jobs to do, keeping tabs on the groceries so nothing went missing, looking up recipes and creating the most appealing and delicious vegan meals and still had time to snuggle with the puppies and cuddling with them ! She's an extraordinarily responsible and lovely girl . I wish her all the best for what the future might bring her 🤗❤️

I had the absolute best experience at this place. Organising classes for the guests first thing in the morning and after a day of hiking was honestly so refreshing and I enjoyed every bit of it! It is an incredibly cozy place and the people make it even better. Thank you to all the amazing staff who quickly became good friends (thanks Gio, Carlos, Mari..!!) you made this stay so so special for me. I have been recommending this place left and right and would love to come back one day as a guest to show my family. Hands down the BEST place on the Quilotoa loop! thank you eva and christian for this great opportunity!

A perfect stay !!! Valentina and Stefano hosted me for a short week within their family, and it was extraordinary. Not only did they welcome me and include me in their family in a truly friendly fashion, but they also allowed me to join them for the numerous joyful meals we all shared with friends and family. Since my aim was to improve my Italian, this was just the perfect thing to do! The work was really enjoyable, outside in the marvelous countryside of the Sabina region. I worked under the sun to improve the garden, clean the various parts of the premises, mend the fences, and do all the little tasks that running such a property entails. The work was well described, and the positive feedback given helped me to do my best to everybody’s satisfaction. It was also an intense cultural exchange with the whole family, including the children Bianca and Elia, with the cherry on the cake being Neve the dog, and the numerous cats and donkeys who gave an unforgettable spark of life to this wonderful setting. Something that went wrong? Only when I had to leave, because unfortunately I couldn’t stay more than a week :( But surely I will come back ;-) Thank you so much <3 <3 <3

What a gift to have Barbora and Marek with us in Süstedt in this special time. There are not enough words, that can describe how thankful we are. We recommend Barbora and Marek to everybody who wants to have time with a very very nice couple. They see themself what needs to be done and they where just so fine with everything we asked them for. Our home is in a "new light" now in many kind of ways! We recommend them as really "premium workawayer" :-)
