We spent a month with David and Liz and it was wonderful ! When we arrived, they left us free days so we could settle down. They offer a very comfortable apartment with a superb view on the sea from the terrace. We mainly worked with David helping to make the garden look tidy (pressure washing, branch cutting, painting). The work is split on 4 days which gives ample time to go visiting on weekends. We had some very nice evenings with Liz & David ! David introduced us to his group of bikers (we came on our motorcycles) and we were able to go on rides with them. In conclusion, if you are doubting : don't, you won't regret it. Thanks again for hosting us, we will be sure to visit you if we come near Màlaga ! Bleuenn & Alix

We started directly with the olive picking and noticed immediately that Jessica is a really amazing hard working powerful wonderful woman! She is also very respectful, helpful, reflecting, sweet and adapting to every situation and task. We enjoyed her stay and work very much and miss her around us ( especially the Palo Santo smell :) ) already. Her language tasks are amazing too and we had always lovely conversations. Maybe we will meet very soon again...we will see.

A Shining Star on Our Smallholding Meredith has, without a doubt, become a contender for our all-time top 100 workawayers ;) Words almost fail us when trying to capture the sheer joy and exceptional value Meredith brought to our smallholding over the past month. She isn't just a helper; she is an absolute treasure, and quite simply, the best helper one could ever wish for. From the moment she arrived, Meredith radiated a warmth and friendliness that instantly lifted our spirits. Her lovely nature is perfectly matched by her impressive work ethic. She is super nice and friendly, always approaching every person and every task with a cheerful disposition. What truly sets Meredith apart is her incredible intelligence and awareness. She is very accurate in her work, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. Crucially, she is very awake—she absorbs information like a sponge. It was astonishing to see her overhear a casual conversation or instruction and immediately translate that knowledge into a helpful, self-starting task. This level of proactive help is exceptionally rare. Meredith’s personality is infectious. She is funny, deeply curious about everything, and possesses a wonderful ability to be easily excited, even by the small things in life. This simple joy is a constant reminder of the positive energy she brings. Whether working independently, happily spending time alone, or collaborating with us, she tackled every job with incredible diligence. She is a very, very industrious person who consistently goes above and beyond. Meredith, you are welcome to visit us anytime – our gate and our hearts are always open to you. We miss your presence, your laughter, and your amazing energy already. Thank you, Meredith, for everything. Amelie came to us on her own after Stefan had left Australia. Full of friendly enthusiasm she connected with all the other visitors as well as all the animals and our family. Despite her youth Amelie has a practical mind and assisted with various work around the farm, cleaning and artwork as well as helping with caring for my mother while we were away for a couple of days. Her ebullient and happy spirit was an enjoyable addition to the farm. We wish her well and welcome her return at any time.

I stayed at this host family’s place for about two weeks. They were incredibly kind and friendly, and I had such a wonderful time there. This was my first Workaway experience, so I was a bit nervous at first, but being surrounded by people who are gentle with nature and animals made me feel very relaxed. Since I stayed in November, the work was not agricultural; instead, it was simple tasks like planting, cutting wood, and weeding. If you’re considering staying here, I truly recommend it!

Yurika first came to us nearly a year ago… She stayed for a few weeks and went on to another Workaway on the north west coast. Then she returned for a couple of weeks before heading south for another Workaway. This pattern has continued for the remainder of the year and we have felt so fortunate to have her gentle and creative spirit with us over this time. Yurika is a talented artist and has contributed not only to the collection of art on our property but to the creative endeavour in general, collaborating with and inspiring other visitors. She has become friends in her gentle way with visitors from France, England, Germany and Australia. Yurika is also a talented animal lover, all the animals here love her right back and greet her happily when she returns. This thoughtful young woman with her quiet intelligence and warm smile has made herself a special place in our family ❤️ We wish her well in her endeavours and will always be happy to receive her here at the Farm 🙏

Cami stayed with us for a few weeks in November, and she was honestly such a joy to have around. She jumped right in and helped wherever she could, and she put so much care into everything she did. One of the biggest gifts was how she cleaned and organized our our artistic daughter’s very messy bedroom—she handled it with so much patience and kindness. She also spoiled us with her baking--the cinnamon buns and tiramisu were incredible, and we’re still talking about them. Cami has a great sense of humour, is easy to be around, and is always willing to lend a hand without being asked. She even went on an overnight back-country hike with another workaway from Taiwan and the two of them had a proper Canadian adventure, which we loved hearing about. We’d happily welcome Cami back anytime. She’s a lovely person and a fantastic Workaway. Highly recommend!

Betti came to visit us for a few days on short notice. She arrived full of enthusiasm and energy and was a beautiful presence in our home. Having a wide life experience and enquiring mind she initiated and contributed to many interesting conversations. Although I was unusually busy with work at that time she was happy to turn her hands to anything and keen to contribute in any way with her considerable skills and experience - this was a lovely blessing as there is plenty to do here and not always time to explain everything 😊 A gentle yet vigorous soul - we hope to see her again during her travels ❤️

Dear colleague, I still have no words to describe such an amazing experience where I felt like home from the beginning. Sybille and Damian are open mind, kind, generous, close if you need and at the same time they give you your own space. And they transmite those values to the kids who are full of energy, cheerfull and respectfull. So if you are planning to go to Germany for a while here you will find a wonderfull place to stay.

This October we had the pleasure of hosting Christine 😊 Our cats and dogs were very happy with the attention and affection lavished upon them! We were similarly happy with the care Christine brought with her. She cooked beautiful meals, sewed linen for my clinic, helped with cleaning, washing etc as well as jobs around the farm. She also brought a lovely impulse for connection and enjoyable sense of humour. We went away to visit family during her visit and she helped look after the farm in our absence as well as caring for the young French men who were here at the time by cooking delicious healthy meals to share and being present with her rich life experience. We were very happy Christine chose to come to us and will welcome her back any time ❤️

I recently had the pleasure of hosting Callum at my ranch, and I want to share my experience with him. Callum is one of those rare young men whose character stands out immediately — kind, grounded, respectful, and genuinely eager to contribute wherever he can. What impressed me most is how naturally responsibility comes to him. He listens carefully, follows through on every task, and is reliability. Whether the work was simple or challenging, Callum showed up fully — willing to learn and willing to help. I know how difficult it can be to take a chance on someone who doesn’t yet have feedback on their WorkAway profile. I felt that hesitation myself for a brief moment. But I am incredibly grateful I trusted my instincts and gave him the opportunity, because he truly deserves it. Callum proved himself to be thoughtful, polite, and genuinely caring. If you’re considering hosting Callum, let me reassure you: you won’t regret it. He is a wonderful human being, a dedicated helper, and a trustworthy presence to have in your home or project. Giving him a chance was one of the best decisions I made, and I would welcome him back without hesitation. Callum has my full recommendation.

It`s been an amazing experience with Julika, Oliver and her family. Nature, animals and tasks make an exciting journey every day. I can't wait to come back and see how it's the farm.

I spent one month and a half at Omega’s place, and it truly was a life-changing experience. My main missions were teaching French to the kids every weekday and giving workshops about menstruation. It was incredible. The kids are eager to learn, full of kindness, and we had so much fun together, even on weekends sometimes. I absolutely fell in love with them. 🥰 I also fell in love with Machame. It’s a little paradise, peaceful, beautiful, and so inspiring. The only challenge for me was the internet connection, since I work online. But honestly, it pushed me to be more creative and to embrace a real “hakuna matata” mindset. 😂 And last but not least, Omega is exceptional. His values, his vision, and his heart touched me deeply. Thank you Omega, for everything.

Jule stayed with us for two weeks and was a great help. Most of her work was in the garden — mainly weeding, clearing areas around plants, and keeping the beds clean and organized. She also assisted a bit with insulation work inside the cabins. All tasks were done carefully, responsibly, and without needing supervision. She is reliable, fast-learning, and works with focus. In daily life she was respectful, easygoing, and very pleasant to communicate with. We had a very good connection and enjoyed our conversations and time together. We fully recommend Jule to any host. She was a positive presence and a solid worker, and we would be happy to welcome her again anytime.

This was my first workaway experience and Gian Luca and Tori were the best hosts I could have wished for. They were super supportive from giving clear directions for finding their place, to explaining the detail of the tasks at hand, offering clear demonstrations and making sure we were happy with what we were doing. Their work was interesting and fun (particularly the stone wall building!) and their passion for the project was infectious! I also really enjoyed the social aspect and spending time with Tori and Gian Luca, we had some really fun evenings, delicious food and great conversations. I hope to go back some day soon!
