We really enjoyed staying at Delphine's, it was a pleasure to deal with her beutiful garden and spend time in Provence's countryside. Movie nights and games, not to mention the lovely dinners together, made our sejour really fun and interesting in an house full of artistic souls books! Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

We had the wonderful opportunity to spend almost two months in Giaveno with Pippo and Cristiana. Neeltje arrived a couple of weeks before, and Mies joined later on. Both the individual experience and the experience we had together were very exciting. We were directly welcomed in a warm and open ‘community’. Cristiana and Pippo are both very willing to connect you with friends and family from the neighborhood (or further away). Both of them are very open and flexible and appreciate the same in us as workawayers. They also had very nice recommendations about the area, such as restaurants, hikes, castles and so on. The work that was expected from us was very reasonable and enjoyable. We mainly worked in the garden, cutting the bushes (perfectly round ;) ), mowing, collecting peaches, apples and figs from the trees. We were also very happy that we could help them with repairing some holes in knitwear and other clothing and fabrics. The sewing machine that we brought came in very handy! The apartment connected to their house where we stayed was very comfortable. It gave a good balance between privacy and connection. The house as well as the location is absolutely stunning. The attention to detail and the respect and preservation of historical elements are truly inspiring. The two cats; Leo & Nino and the two dogs; Punch and Barbabuc brought so much joy to our stay. They kept us very good company on the (very few) rainy days we had, since they are all very cuddly. They all have their own funny character and we fell in love with each of them. Going for walks with the dogs was very enjoyable and a good way to discover the surroundings of Giaveno. Due to illness we had to stay longer in Giaveno than expected. We cannot thank Pippo and Cristiana enough that we could stay at their home for a bit longer, even though new workawayers were already coming. We have felt very welcomed and cared for, a truly warm experience!

Lisa and Jeff,Thanks for everything. Thank you for giving me so many new experiences. Even though it was only two weeks, I was able to enjoy so many wonderful moments, and they have become unforgettable memories in my life. I feel like I learned so much from both of you, and maybe I wasn’t able to contribute much as a Workaway helper. Still, thank you for letting me experience so many things every day, and for taking me on hikes and to the ocean so often. Even though my English wasn’t very smooth, you spoke slowly and simply, which really helped me. I really hope to visit your house again someday. When I do, I’d love to become even closer with Jinx and Dot too. 🐾 See you again 💓

As with others from Taiwan, there is a much more original, beautiful and difficult to pronounce name behind the profile name. She is a very generous person, stayed for 2 months, did a lot of impeccable sanding and painting outside, helped harvest apples and cooked the most delightful Asian dishes. She claimed it was just everyday meals, but the taste was so delightful - much better than I ever had on any Asian restaurant (only comparable food I had was in Vietnam). I got addicted, but fortunately she left some recipes. We had a lot of nice and interesting conversations, cultural and culinary exchanges and some trips to Copenhagen and other cities and sites of interest. A big thank you and you are most welcome again.

Mateo stayed with us for two weeks, during a very busy time with two back-to-back seminars on the island. He supported us wonderfully in the kitchen and was always kind and approachable with the guests. Together, we also worked on a garden project, preparing a large patch of soil for the planting season. Mateo brought great energy, kindness, and super positive vibes to the team. He worked independently, with responsibility and dedication, and was always willing to help wherever needed. It was a real pleasure to host him, and I would be very happy to see him return to the island in the future!

I stayed with Tonje for about a month and I loved it! I dived into the Alaskan lifestyle as soon as she picked me up. From running errands , to meeting friends and taking care of the dogs - Tonje made sure that I was part of it. I learned a lot about hunting, just from listening to her and her friends talking about their passion. And she trusted me to smoke salmon for the first time in my life. Of course the dogs are an important part of the experience. And even if they are really big creatures, they are just big puppies when it comes to humans. I loved to take care of them and to take them on walks. Just the feeling of walking through the vast tundra accompanied by those wolvelike creatures was really great. There were slower and busier days and you have to stay flexible when it comes to plans. Because sometimes the weather is better or worse than expected, sometimes because something unexpected happens and somtimes because Tonje has a better idea. But if you go with the flow, you will definitely experience something new :) I am home now for almost a month and I am still sure - I will come back :)

Boey taught me valuable skills about camping and social media, and she worked very hard during her time supporting us. She respected our rules and was always considerate and sincere. We also had inspiring conversations about investment opportunities and travel stories—she has many great ideas and she is a free spirit, eager to discover the world in her own beautiful way. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, kind, and enthusiastic person wo work with.

John Paul is great with people and very open and kind hearted. He is very experienced and competent at working on his own. He could also manage the other workawayers and teach them the tasks that were needed to be done. I would highly recommend John Paul to work with you.

He worked well independently and as a team on various projects painting, flooring, organizing ect. He really likes outside work and visiting with the community here. What an amazing experience for my first workaway opportunity! Leo was managing the co-living and is such an fun, upbeat and friendly guy. He really did a great job making everyone feel welcome and keep a family vibe in the space. We had fun weekly meetings that kept everyone on the same page and figure out what our events are going to be. We had 3 shifts a week and they were pretty simple without a lot of responsibility, but being available and open to the guests. Some people took their job as volunteer a little less seriously (didn't do everything expected of them during shift) but overall we worked as a team and I can say everyone at the co-living felt apart of the family. We had people leave, but still come back for family dinner or even move back in after a few weeks elsewhere. The community is what really locks people in! Leo was awesome and I can't thank him enough for a great stay! I even extended for an extra week because 4 wasn't enough :) *I had one guest reach back out to me after I left because people are still referring to the bbq around the street as "Meat Salon" which I made up and I'm so happy to see that it's lived on in the IYKYK of the place :) :)

Alexandrine spent six weeks with us and we absolutely loved having her here. She assisted in all areas including admin. She could turn her hand to anything; gardening, DIY, creative tasks. Alexandrine is an emerging artist and we would love to work with her in the future. She is a general all rounder, skilled in many areas and a lovely person.

I had a fantastic experience staying with Fe as my Workaway hostess. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable in her home. Fe is kind, polite, and an exceptional host who went out of her way to ensure I felt at ease. We connected over our shared love for Japanese culture, which led to meaningful conversations and a genuine exchange of our respective cultures. Fe also shared captivating stories from her extensive travels, which added a special dimension to my stay. Her warmth and openness made this experience truly memorable, and I would highly recommend her as a hostess to future Workawayers.

i spent an amazing week with andreas in his garden. the activities we did together were very useful (e.g., chopping wood, gardening, cutting trees, using the gravel etc…), he was always clear at explaining the task requested and available if there was any doubt. he was also good at cooking delicious meals, along with his friend carlos, who was truly fun to have around. he introduced us to some of his neighbours, that were all nice and enjoyable people. a special moment was when we all had dinner in front of a fire in the garden. hillerød is a nice city, with a beautiful castle (frederiksborg castle) that is definitely worth visiting. the city is close to copenhagen (40 minutes by train), which makes it easy to reach it when there’s some spare time. there are some enjoyable bicycle routes in the area, such as one leading to the fredensborg castle (very close to a beautiful lake). besides this, I really enjoyed the time I spent with andreas and the other two guys he was hosting, as there was a very nice and funny atmosphere when we were all together. I truly recommend him as a host

He requires clear instruction yet he happily follows through with the tasks. He observed the house rules well and was very respectful of our space. Thank you for all your help Paul and we hope to see you again.

Mina and Friedo are a young, lovely couple and truly pleasant company. Both are very artistic in spirit: they spent time drawing and painting on paper and wood, and even created a beautifully designed scarecrow for the garden that looked like a piece of art. They worked with great dedication during their stay. Together we harvested all the grapes, pressed them, and set the juice aside for winemaking. Although I found them to be rather slow workers, they were consistent, reliable, and never gave up until the job was done. As vegetarians, they prepared meals that were delicious for me as well; the plum dumplings they cooked were especially tasty! They have a clear love for potatoes and tomatoes, which often made its way into their dishes. Their style of clothing and overall appearance was unusual for me at first, but in a positive and refreshing way, which reflected their unique personalities. Mina and Friedo stayed with me for two weeks, and it was a truly enjoyable time, I recommend them warmly to anyone!

I had a wonderful time staying with this host. They were very kind and understanding, and even though my English is not very strong, I was able to have such a valuable experience. The work included cleaning paddocks and flowerbeds, as well as moving firewood for the wood stove. Some tasks required physical strength, but they never felt overwhelming. I also appreciated that there was always enough time to rest and recharge, so the work never felt too hard. The meals were always delicious, and I even had the chance to try kangaroo meat, which allowed me to experience the unique flavors of Australia. The host’s home is surrounded by beautiful nature and lovely animals, and the star-filled night sky was absolutely breathtaking. The two weeks I spent in the great outdoors were truly unforgettable and full of happiness. Thank you so much! Seishiro, Yusaku
