I stayed at Markus’ beautiful property for 2 months and had a wonderful time. The work was varied, fun and we had a lot of autonomy on how to manage our tasks based on weather priorities etc. I preferred the physical outdoor work so during my stay it was mainly tasks like planting trees, building dead hedges, making compost and other general garden work. Markus is very generous with food and shopping, providing an amazing selection of organic fruit, vegetables, dairy and a wonderful pantry - you’ll eat incredibly well and I felt very lucky to be with a group of fellow cooks/foodies! Even though I eat meat I didn’t really miss it as the meals we had were so tasty. It’s an absolutely beautiful area full of great hiking and things to do. Fortunately a few of the group had cars as it made for lots of fun road trips, as without transport some may feel a bit limited (to truly explore the area) but there are regular buses in and out of the village and it’s not too far to walk down the mountain into the local town. A highlight for me was camping on top of a snow covered mountain. Thanks again for the stay and the hospitality, I hope one day to return either in the middle of summer or the depths of winter to see a different season (and to see how my epic compost hedge/fortress is holding up 😀)

My stay with Lynne was truly one of the most beautiful and transformative experiences ever. Galahads Animal Sanctuary is a place full of love, care, and deep respect for all living beings. Most of my days started and ended with taking care of the animals. Feeding them, cleaning their shelters, and making sure everyone was safe and happy. During the day I helped with small repair projects or general tasks like cleaning, weeding and cooking. Every animal at the sanctuary has been rescued from difficult circumstances. Lynne knows and shares each of their stories with so much compassion. She helps you truly understand why some of them might be shy or scared, and what it takes to make them feel safe again. Seeing how much work, patience, and love she puts into every single animal is incredibly inspiring and learning to understand them was such a powerful experience for me. In the evenings, we would gently guide all the animals back to their shelters for the night. Not with ropes or force, but with kind words, calm energy, and a few carrots for motivation. I especially fell in love with the two donkeys, Elwood and Jake. Bringing them in from the meadow every evening was a magical moment a reminder of how trust and love can replace control. Lynne is an amazing host! Warm, generous, and full of heart. She gives everything to the animals and still finds time to truly care for her volunteers. My accommodation was super comfortable and the food delicious. Thanks to Lynne’s care my arrival in Australia couldn’t have been smoother. This was my very first volunteering experience and it opened my heart in ways I never imagined. If you love animals and want to be part of something truly special, this sanctuary is the perfect place. Thank you, Lynne for everything you do! You and your animals deserve all the love and support in the world!!!

It was a grat pleasure to have Evelin in my house, she is a easy going person, works hard , likes baked potato with onions:], hiking we had a loth of good conversations, and fun.

Katayun is a lovely young lady , she likes to do everything you want to she is doing, she is doing her work very good, and I love the way she was working I my house, . We had a great time with her in my house and I can recommend her to other hosts. Wish you all the best in the future Katayun

Rudi was the first workawayer at my place with myself there too and spent a week during the winter (start). He was very enthusiastic, friendly, keen to help where he could and also, able to appreciate both my place and its location for several of their merits. I'd be glad to have him again in the future

Gina and José were wonderful hosts. From the beginning, they were kind and flexible with the times I could help them. Their pets are very calm and quiet. They even shared some groceries with me, which helped me save money. They made my first visit to the USA very enjoyable. I hope to visit them again soon.

We had a wonderful time living with and working for Levi and Erika. In our three weeks our main task was fire prevention- clearing dead trees, making fire wood, chipping the unusable branches etc. We also helped Levi building a workbench in his shed and small organisational stuff. The goats were great companions while we worked- wait to see them have the zoomies! Apart from the goats, Gord and the neighborhood dog (a lovely but big hairy 'monster') might also keep you company. The river is great for swimming/showering - once you get used to the temperature ;) Levi and Erika were so kind to go exploring with us and show us parts of the region we wouldn't have gotten to without them. We won't forget our breathtaking scramble in the mountains down the valley and our canoe tour down Blaerberry River. Thank you for the great time and hope to see you in spring!

Misugi was a joy to host. Right from the start she surprised me with her strength - even though she is tiny. She was very helpful, kind, and hardworking. I think when I liked the most amount was suki was her gentle nature with my grandchildren and how easy it was to make her laugh.

Sarah was a delight to have around, we enjoyed her initiative and enthusiasm

Desde el principio tuve una comunicación excelente con Serioshka. El lugar era simplemente increíble, y estoy segura de que volveré. Me encantaron sus perros, me encantó el jardín y también me gustaron mucho los demás trabajadores, tanto los que trabajan allí con regularidad como los que acababan de llegar cómo voluntaria. En resumen, fue una estancia maravillosa. Aunque solo estuve una semana, sé que definitivamente quiero volver, esta vez por más tiempo.

I spent five wonderful days at the retreat. It was truly a beautiful experience that I recommend to anyone who enjoys meditation. Everyone was so kind and supportive, and I left the retreat feeling grounded and with beautiful memories. Thank you to all the members!

This was my first Workaway experience and it was fantastic. Caroline’s place is right on the beach and in an extremely friendly town where everyone welcomes you. Caroline provided all the food and bikes to cycle around to see local sights. The teaching is all about giving the kids a place to practice the English they have learnt at school. The younger kids loved playing with more interactive games while the teenagers had fantastic levels of English and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them. Caroline provided cultural exchanges with Sundays being activity classes. We would cook local food, play on the beach, and she would take us to the local village. This experience was fantastic, I met incredible people, and it’s a great way to immerse yourself in Vietnamese culture!

Two very nice young ladies. Dinner with them was a pleasure, good conversations. Well behaved and polite. Keen to work outside. Recommended.

We had an amazing stay with SJ and his family, they were wonderful hosts! We spent only one week with them, but we directly felt included in their lives, they took us all around Kuala Lumpur and where the food was cheap and delicious. Also, we learned much more about Malaysia than we could've hoped for! The job was mainly about improving the property outside and the garden which was really satisfying! We highly recommend this place for anyone willing to experience local life in Malaysia! Thanks again for everything, we're looking forward to seeing you in Europe!

Clement n'est resté que quelques jours a la maison, mais il s'Est vite mis au rythme de la famille et a su bien fendre tout le bois que nous avions!! Super sympathique, autonome et rapidité d'apprentissage sont des qualités qui furent appréciées! Hi Shi, It was a pleasure to meet you since the first day you seems a hard work person, I felt you as familiar when you shared a hug. It was nice to share time with you, you put on all you can for our business this is what I appreciated from you. I'm happy also that you done some climbings and the Huayhuash trek..so you loved some of our destinations that we offer. This is such a wonderful place in Columbia! Creek, waterfalls, mountains, gardens, cabins, tropical fruits, animals... there are so many things to explore and to take a break from the urban noises in this natural reserve. Jessie, Carlos, Cami, and the other local stuff are all really friendly and welcoming. I worked as a photography volunteer for a week and truly felt being treated as family & friend. I love the food, so fresh and delicious everyday. Thank you!
