Clara was a joy to host as a Workawayer! She and Goose (the dog) became the best of friends during her stay and Goose and I both missed her when she left. Clara is a hard and fearless worker who took on every task, undaunted. She cleaned , organized, cooked, gardened, and schlepped around all manner of things, always with a smile. It would be a pleasure to have her back again if she's ever on this side of the world. I know Goose would agree.

Paul was an absolute delight to have as a workawayer. He ended up staying on for two extra weeks as he got right into the rock wall he was building, but beyond that, he became part of the family! He was hard working, respectful, interesting and gentle. He got on with the kids really well and made a delicious French dinner. Nobody wanted to see him leave and added to our lives while he was here. I highly recommend Paul!

Tessel is such a mature and easy going girl, she has been a true pleasure to have with us! She cooked wonderful meals, she did many little and bigger jobs inside and outisde, always with care and engagement. She is independant and sociable, curious, respectful and flexible. I would highly recommend to welcome Tessel for a workaway experience!

Annette was a great help in our household. She spend one month with us and was willing to tackle any jobs. Annette helped us get a separate accommodation ready for renters , she looked after our dog and took him on long walks. She also cleaned, cooked delicious meals and managed our household when I had to travel to another province for a week due to illness in our family. Annette is kind and hard working. Her calm demeanour and helpful nature were a huge benefit to us. Annette was also a lot of fun and we enjoyed many long conversations around the dinner table. We miss Annette already!

We miss Jules and Aqil! They were wonderful to have around, both socially and with the work they helped us with. We had so much fun together and kicked so many goals with projects on the land here. Anyone who has the priveledge of their company and support will be fortunate indeed. Safe travels you two lovlies! Suzy and Jon

Where can we start...this was our second workaway overall and first time volunteering in a shelter with animals. This experience couldn't have been better. Laura and Ginny are wonderful people. The way Laura is keeping the shelter is simply amazing. Her love and dedication for every single animal on the property is heartwarming and inspiring. Our daily work contained socializing with the dogs, cleaning, feeding, playing, going for walks and we were able to build some much needed shade and a bench, for the dogs as well as ourselves, Joanna even got to paint the trailer. We were helping out during the warmest/most humid season of the year and the heat was really hard on us and the dogs. Nevertheless we enjoyed every second with all those beautiful creatures. We bonded with all the dogs in no time, since they are all just beautiful souls. We fell in love with ALL of them within no time! Our accommodation, which was organized by Ginny and Ceci was amazing. Nothing was missed and we got to enjoy La Manzanilla during our off days to the fullest. Whenever something was needed or requested everyone of them helped immediately and a solution was found for everything (thank you sooooo much!!). The people of La Manzanilla are all very kind and we got to know some of them very well during our 6 week stay. We are incredibly thankful for this experience and will definitely come back in the future. We miss everyone of the pack dearly already (too many names to mention). For us this experience feels like the beginning of something we want to do in the future, volunteering and helping animals in need! If you love dogs (and animals in general) and want to help, this is a place for you!! Thanks again, Laura, Ginny and Ceci for the wonderful time. We will be back! <3 Joanna&Lukas

Isabella and Bianca stayed with us for almost three weeks and were an absolute pleasure to have around. They helped with a bunch of jobs includeing painting the house and did a great job. Both were super helpful, easygoing, and fun company — they brought great energy to the house. I’d happily recommend them to any host!

Ben's a fantastic guy and a true craftsman. He might be a man of few words, but when he speaks, he makes perfect sense. He's incredibly handy—the kind of person who can fix or build anything. He's great with wood, painting, and all his tools. He's a solution-first thinker who stays focused and never complains. You can tell he genuinely loves making things work. He was great company and ended up staying longer than planned. We had a wonderful time chatting about good music and riding motorcycles. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and I definitely recommend him!

Jenny brought so much peace, kindness, and light during her stay with us at our KidsClub and in our family. She reminded us to slow down, breathe, and stay aligned through yoga, mindfulness, and curiosity — always finding beauty in nature, whether in birds or the moon. She was deeply loved by the children, joining and leading activities from morning circles to art & crafts and workshops with care and creativity. Always handy and proactive, Jenny helped wherever she could — with chores, organization, or simply bringing calm and balance to our days. Curious about our culture, heritage, and identity, she shared meaningful reflections and lessons that will stay with the kids forever. Jenny is truly part of the whole Family, and we wish her all the best on her path ahead.

Une superbe expérience avec Raul qui a apporté sa joie, son enthousiasme et sa bonne humeur. Je recommande à tous les hôtes Raul, qui a été respectueux avec toutes les règles de notre habitat groupé, et qui nous a même servi de chauffeur lorsque cela été utile. Raul est dorénavant le bienvenue chez nous, pas en tant que bénévole, mais en tant qu'ami ;-) Tu reviens l'été prochain pour continuer à visiter la Bretagne et à t'améliorer en danses Bretonnes ??

Stay with Mateo and Margaux was just amazing. It has been 2 weeks of great work and learning, specially about the new eco-building project. They are really funny and welcoming to talk. They also ask if everything is ok and are never pushing in too much work. We had delicious food and discussions were even better. I loved to chill in the garden and to have so much dogs around. During my day off or after work I’ve been to the beautiful beach, 5min by foot. I highly recommend if you want to exchange, meet lovely people and do amazing tasks. I can’t wait to go back to their place to see how project changed and to meet them again. Be happy guys.

I dont know where to start.There are no words to describe what Marco has been for us.He became a family member basically,he stayed 3 months with us ,taking care of all the tasks required to run small family hostel like ours.He work in reception,prepare breakfast ,dinner ,he was our driver in our tour .He was super kind person.We can not wait to have him next year.

Paul is a wonderful host who immediately puts you at ease. He makes sure you have evrything you need and are comfortably settled in. Always ready to exchange and share good times over music or a good meal, he is also a good storyteller of Irish mythology. Fascinating! The dogs and the donkeys are adorable and the surroundings are very beautiful and peaceful. Thank you Paul for this very pleasant stay in the studio 😊

Clara and Eric stayed with us for two weeks, and we absolutely loved having them here. They helped with weeding, clearing, and creating beautiful paths through our bush, and even spoiled us with homemade Brötchen, so good! They’re kind, respectful, and full of warmth and humour, which made every day lighter and more fun. They were also amazing with our dog Pinot, who can be quite anxious, but completely adored them both. Clara and Eric brought such lovely energy into our home, we miss them already and would welcome them back anytime. 🌿💛

We spent 2,5 weeks in Pora Chacahua preparing for the opening of the season. But 2 more weeks would have been welcome! It was a fantastic experience, and the staff immediately made us feel at home. The hotel is ideally located, the beach is beautiful, and the work is enjoyable. Thank you so much for your wonderful energy, your smiles, and your warm welcome.

I had a wonderful three week stay with Nazareth and Rodrigo at their home in Nocaima. They are such kind, generous and funny people. I felt truly welcome and cared for here, the food we cooked together was wonderful, and they helped me with my Spanish so much. The work was varied, light and fulfilling. I felt I was able to make meaningful connections to the town, the people, and the other volunteers through Nazareth and Rodrigo's ability to host so well. I am very grateful for the experience we shared at the BioTropical Hostel. Thank you!

I spent 4 pleasant days at Hugh’s house, from whom I learned a lot in english but also about the history of Ireland. Picking apples with a nice weather was pleasant and cooking a french dinner was fun! Thank you Hugh for this enjoyable stay and also for driving me to the bus stop 😊

Leah and Viktor were delightful additions to my extended workaway family. They’re both very happy souls; so even tempered, and easy going that their energy really enhances any environment. Leah is fun loving and sassy, Victor is mellow and thoughtful (but watch out during game night as his poker face is utterly indecipherable!). When the weather wasn’t good enough to work outdoors, they helped me by doing online research to promote my goal of opening a B&B. Thank you guys, I gratefully remain in awe of your “tech”capabilities and wish you the best of everything in your life adventures
