Sono stata 3 settimane e mezzo da Pompilio e Rosa. In questo periodo ho imparato molto, era veramente interessante! Mi è piaciuto molto lavorare alla campagna e all' orto. Pompilio e Rosa sono molto gentile e sono stata ammesso cordiali. Insieme abbiamo preparato diversi piatti tipici italieni, tutti davvero buoni!! Il paese e i dintorni sono molto bello. Per me è stato un periodo davvero speciale.

We so enjoyed having Lily stay with us for part of the week. Having a extra pair of hands to move things around the house so we could shift carpets, some cleaning and lots of chats at meal times. Lily was like part of the family so we had lots of laughs. Lily could get some walking in down our long beach in the afternoons or read and relax or knit. We had a fun week. Lily is welcome anytime to our home.

I stayed with Rosa and Pieter for two wonderful weeks, and from the very first moment I felt completely at home. They made me feel loved, welcome, and part of the family. I loved helping Rosa with everything she needed, especially building IKEA furniture! She is such a special woman, wise, funny, full of light and positive energy. Every moment with her was a joy. Pieter is creative, smart, and kind, with a great sense of humor. It was beautiful to see his connection with their dog Nino and his care for everyone around him. We shared cozy, delicious family dinners, and I had time to explore Reykjavík, see the Northern Lights, swim in the local pool, and even experience a rare October snowstorm! This stay helped me feel the real Icelandic warmth and kindness. Thank you, Rosa and Pieter, from the bottom of my heart for such a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

Staying with Eugenio was our first workaway experience and it couldn‘t have been more wonderful! He always made sure we had everything we needed, gave us guidance for the life on the farm while also leaving us a great amount of independence and welcoming any ideas we had to improve the place! The work was never boring and varied a lot. During our stay we took care of the growing orange trees, sanded and painted the railing and helped with the olive harvest. Although sometimes the work was a bit challenging it was very fun and rewarding. Nonetheless, we always had free time to explore the area around the house, for example through hiking, bike trips to the sea and exciting adventures together with Eugenio where we learned so much about Calabria and Calabrian culture! His friends were simply amazing, always encouraging us to speak Italian and helping us when we had any need of any kind. We explored the food culture and were spoiled with delicious traditional meals by his parents who are the most welcoming people you’ll ever meet! We will forever remember this fantastic experience and have truly made friends for life! Thank you so so much for everything!

Wonderful life experience with Rima and Dennis! I stayed with them for just over a week in their warm and welcoming home in Motueka. Together with another Workawayer, I helped out with some work around their house and garden after a flooding. Rima gave us a genuine and meaningful experience of Māori culture — her love for her land, her family’s history, and her strong values are truly inspiring and will stay with you for a long time.

We've been so fortunate to have met so many wonderful people through Workaway, and Marcello was one of the best ones. Very nice and smart guy. You can give him a task and he will do his best. In fact, he is an excellent italian teacher. I could learn a lot with our daily practices. Even though he spent only about ten days here, he left our home as a friend. We wish him all the best. Our doors are always open for you, Marcello!

Ben and Grace were fantastic! Helpful, great with the kids and dogs, and wonderful people to have as guests and workawayers. Besides looking after our dogs, they did a great job clearing up branches our orchard and other farm work. In the evenings they played games with the kids (who were very sad when they left). We definately recommend Ben and Grace, great people!

We had the pleasure of having Lotte and Walter staying with us for a while. They are great people, Iit was a very nice experience! By the end of the stay we really felt that we know each other well. Lotte and Walter also did s great job, efficient and eager to learn new skills. The result of the work they did is amazing, working outside in the orchard and other farm work. They were also wonderful with the kids and our animals. We are grateful for getting to know them, and for all the work they did for us.

Fabi is a very pleasant and interesting house partner and works well in the garden. He did leaves raking, transplanting bushes from the vegetalble garden, which meant a lot of digging, and picking apples. An enjoyable week with him.

I’ve passed 6 weeks with Tanja en Andre. They welcomed me with a warm and friendly smile, and i immediately felt at ease. It was an amazing experience and they are both really nice. I did some fine tasks like construction, gardening or house cleaning, it was every time something different. I also ate really good there. I surely highly recommend and I will for sure come back. I had an incredible time with Angela and Stefano! They are warm and interesting people, and their kids are absolutely wonderful. Angela is an amazing cook, every meal was a treat. We had interesting conversations during my stay. One highlight was going camping with them in a refugio with an absolutely stunning view. They made me feel so welcome and immediately felt like I was part of the family. You’ll have your own cozy guesthouse all to yourself, which was a nice bonus. They live in an exceptionally beautiful place! Lots of hikes or mountain biking opportunities. The work was enjoyable and not too demanding — I helped harvest potatoes and apples, juiced the apples. I harvested plums and made jam, and cut the grass with a weed wacker. I played with their son and he also helped with the harvest work. I highly recommend doing a Workaway with Angela and Stefano. You’ll learn a lot, eat well, and feel right at home. Grazie mille!

Dylan and Abigale, it was so lovely to meet you and hear your stories. A huge thank you for all your wonderful efforts, it is much appreciated. I am so glad you enjoyed your 1st workaway and that you choose Ireland for your 1st experience! You are most welcome back here to visit at anytime. Best of luck to you both.

Sharing this two weeks with Noe was a great experience for us. Noe is super open minded and always happy to help with everything that is going on around here. Noe was here when we were building the roof of our place and he got super enthousiastic about the building and learning techniques. He has a curious mind, always asking about the way we do things and sharing his life experience and cooking skills! We reccomend Noe has a volunteer without hesitation! You will have the pleasure to meet a beautiful free spirit, happy and easy going energy to hang out with and talk about everything and share nice moments with!

During my stay I worked on several projects, including building a concrete slab to expand the property, cleaning the house and cars, and doing various small daily tasks. It was an interesting, useful and even fun experience, in a peaceful environment surrounded by the Irish countryside. The house itself is beautiful and welcoming — a place where you instantly feel at home. From the very first day, there was a great atmosphere. Just so you know, once you arrive, you’ll probably be teasing each other quite a bit — but always with good humour and friendliness. The house is calm and friendly, full of kind and easy-going people, which makes it really easy to feel comfortable. Kevin is a kind, welcoming man with a great sense of humour. He taught me a lot. We had long and meaningful conversations, often in the evenings with a glass of wine. He shared many little pieces of wisdom about how to live life with simplicity and authenticity. He has a lot of experience, and his advice truly inspired me. He also helped me many times — giving me lifts when I needed them or taking me shopping. I sincerely thank him for giving me the chance not only to learn new things but also to grow as a person and continue my journey here in Ireland — and in the world. I also want to thank Frank, one of the housemates. He’s a straightforward, realistic person you can talk openly with. Even if he might seem serious at first, trust me — there’s a big heart behind that look. He’s genuine, always ready to help or give honest advice. He also gave me lifts when I needed them and taught me a few little tricks for everyday life. I’m deeply grateful for his support, kindness and presence — a person I’ll truly carry with me in my heart. It was a wonderful experience — just over a month — but I’d gladly do it all over again. And finally, a small tip for future workawayers: if one evening you run out of firewood, you can always use Frank’s cat, who you’ll find waiting right outside the door. 😄

Spending nearly 3 weeks at Jameelah’s hacienda was a highly positive first WA experience, the best we could have hoped for as a first step in the volunteering universe ! Jameelah is.a wonderful generous super kind lady who will definitely treat you more as a friend than as a work awayer ! However, she has such a a busy life that we didn’t have the opportunity to spend a lot of time besides her. That’s my only regret because we knew and felt she was exceptional and unique. Daily Tasks : 3 hours a day, early in the morning 5 days out of 7 spent weeding, cleaning, planting, and redesigning a plot of land dedicated to henequen, creating & filling a paved stone path, planting bamboos. Straightforward, simple and highly self rewarding ‘job’ : each morning, a quick brief was set up when necessary, communication with host was just outstanding on that point. My 15 yo daughter and I are proud to have had the chance to be a part of the plantation reconstruction process. Free Time : Huge time for ourselves as work was finished by 10 AM and week ends were free. As the hacienda is located 30 kms away from Merida, there are endless possibilities to discover fascinating areas such as Merida, Chichen Itza, Uxmal, Valladolid… Having your own car will definitely help in gaining autonomy as the place is relatively remote (12 Kms away from Seye where you can catch collectivos). However, Jameelah was kind enough to give us a lift each time she was going downtown so we could regularly buy our groceries and other stuff. Jameelah is highly flexible in terms of timings : She allowed us to spend a 3 days off for the dia de Muertos. Of course we proposed to catch up the missing hours and did so but Jameelah didn't even mention we had to. Open minded generous & super flexible host. Accommodation : As the workawayers casita was still under construction, we stayed in a container house nearby that definitely looked like a high end modern Air Bnb ! Full independence guaranteed ! We had more than necessary : Kitchen area, separated bathroom, huge inflated matress, natural hot water, roof top in the middle of nature, perfect internet connection + all the emergency tools in case of power outage, AC………A dream come true Thank you so much Jameelah for having welcome us so warmly and given us a chance despite our lack of experience and lack of feed back from other hosts as we just started our WA program. Iris and I feel it has been a privilege to meet you and your family while ‘working’ in your plantation. We will always remember the Mayan ceremony you took us to and the conversations we had all together. We have been very very lucky to share this with all of you and already miss you. From the bottom of our heart, Thanks.

Brahim was an excellent host and we had a fantastic time volunteering with him and staying in his family home. We really connected with him, his wife and his children and felt very welcome. The hospitality they offered was wonderful and the food was the best we've had in Morocco. The work was good and we felt we made a good impact helping with website stuff and social media along with some other admin stuff. I would highly recommend staying with Brahim if you get the opportunity. It felt like the perfect workaway experience.

I stayed with Brahim for a week and it was a great experience. He is very good at making you feel welcome and always kept the volunteers happy and well fed. Brahim mainly wants help with the technical side of his tour business, and we focused on creating engaging videos for his social media as well as miscellaneous technical tasks (answering messages, looking through the website, taking pictures). There were a few other volunteers staying in the house when I was there which was very nice. I also joined one of Brahim’s Sahara desert trips which was great, highly recommend. All in all I’m very satisfied with the stay!

We have stayed with Ana and Damir for roundabout 3 weeks and we had a really great time. Even though we arrived in a season where there weren't so many big projects to be completed there were various different small tasks that we could help them with. We for example got the opportunity to learn how to work with clay which was really great. The food was really really nice and comforting and after work was finished we had a great time talking and connecting with the two of them as well as playing some amazing rounds of munchkin and cabo. Overall we had an amazing experience and a lot of fun there so we would definitely visit them again. :) We think that their way of living is very inspiring so if you are interested in getting to know people who live a self sustainable life we would really recommend you to contact them!
