Maresa and Lina are two wonderful gals and we would highly recommend them to anyone. The girls are hard working, super eager to learn all the difficult tasks including using the big Husqvarna chainsaw. They also used my electric chainsaw to cut up firewood. They cut and hand split a lot of firewood, and burned all the branches to clean up the forest areas where the trees were cut. They also took great care of our horses and cats and they are both very good riders and great with the horses. They also helped with any construction work that needed to be done, and sorted out our tool shed as well as building cages around some plants to keep the deer out. The gals also cooked when ever I needed a break from cooking. Overall these two are super eager to try everything, and they are also very sweet and love to play board and card games. We would welcome them back anytime.

It was the first time I had a person from Turkey, Yeliz was a real ambassador😊. She is a very kind and communicative person. She came to us at the moment when we needed it the most. My wife had a problem with her hand. Yeliz tried to help her wherever she could. Kitchen, preparing meals, washing dishes, cleaning, maintenance, she helped in livestock business. She didn't have any food and when she left, she left everything clean and tidy. One big thank you👍👍👍👍

If you get the chance to host Lene, do it! Her cordiality, humor, empathy, reliability, super proactive help, good communication, her film "7180 Hysvik", delicious Norwegian food, surprise birthday cake made her an unforgettable experience for us during her two-week stay. THANKS!

La Fondation est un espace de vie, de sécurité, d'éveil, d'émancipation, d'harmonie, de créativité, de travail, de bonheur, d'amour, pour les plus fragiles et exclus au coeur d'un bidonville. L'abnégation, la bonté, la beauté, l'empathie, la justesse de l'équipe forcent l'admiration . La gaité, la joie de vivre qu'expriment chaque jour les pensionnaires semblent couler de source. Il n'y a pas de miracle, mais le meilleur de ce que peuvent proposer des êtres humains en société. Quelle chance, quel privilège d'avoir pu y demeurer !

My experience with this wonderfull family was amazing and it was very hard to leave this place where I felt home for almost a month. Everybody made me feel like part of the family and this place will defenitely be iny heart forever. I learned a lot about their inspiring way of of life, things such as making bread or building a dry stone wall. Thank you so much Lauren, Barney, Olive, Ned, Hazel and Mabel.

Kevin hosted me in HHS for 2 weeks at the end of September and I would highly recommend a stay there if you are interested in being helpful in a relaxed environment. He was always polite and let me know in advance when and what I could help him with. Given the season I arrived in, my tasks included preparing his RV (insulation and painting), Leisure boat (Clean out and cover) and property (Brush and grass cutback) for the Winter, Kevin was a pleasure to work with as he made sure I had what was needed for each task and his instructions were clear, He was also flexible in re-scheduling tasks when other Canadians invited me out during any given day to see more of BC's beautiful outdoors. I had plenty of time to explore the town and was delighted to spot a black bear, approaching the Miami river for a drink, on a walk out to the source of the Hot Springs.. A highlight was a trip with Kevin at the end of my stay to a boat access only beach on the lake. I had a wonderful solo walk into a forest to see a waterfall and enjoyed a hot dog jetty barbecue with Kevin thereafter. The weather was great and Kevin shared more about enjoying music jams and his prior life experiences. Safe travels Kevin over this Winter (Snow Birds) and I will certainly contact you should another BC Lower Mainland trip arise !

I stayed at Maria’s place for two months and had truly peaceful days! I mostly worked independently, which was nice because I could arrange the tasks at my own pace. Maria is a very thoughtful, gentle, and knowledgeable person. I enjoyed our occasional evening talks over dinner, and one day, we went mushroom picking —she taught me which ones were edible and which were not. It was such a fun time! She also taught me many Finnish words and often spoke to me in simple Finnish, which I really appreciated. In my free time, I spent a lot of time with her lovely cat, Pipari, and would go into the nearby forests, take saunas, and just enjoy unwinding. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! I hope you’ll continue being a Workaway host after you move to the new place!

Jens was a really easy Workawayer to host. He was generous, kind and hardworking. Together, we cleared out the garage; he helped redesign the terrace area and laid gravel and repainted my kitchen pantry. Coming in his own car, meant he had his own independence so most afternoons, he would go out to explore art galeries and sometimes even swim! It was a pleasure to have him in the house - I hardly noticed he was there because he was so quiet and discreet. Thank you for everything you did! Come back to the Cote d’Azur soon!

Gran experiencia! Grandes recuerdos me llevé de haber estado con ellos mes y medio. Ancizar, Obed, Melissa y Stiven (quienes son parte del staff fijo caleño) son excelentes personas, siempre dispuestas a ayudarme o resolver cualquier duda. Ancizar quien dirige el hostal es una excelente persona, gran energía y sentido del humor. El barrio es tranquilo y tiene muchas opciones de restaurantes, bar, supermercados y cualquier otro servicio a unas pocas cuadras ¡Totalmente recomendado!

I spent a month with Eddy and Valérie at their beautiful place.Time flew by and I left feeling like it wasn't enough, but also very grateful because I had the opportunity to contribute a little there, which was a pleasure and very fullfilled. Their place is truly special.They have created a beautiful spot, respecting nature and living in harmony with it, and you can feel that in the energy of their place. I stayed in a very cozy and pretty cabin with a stunning view to the mountains.Waking up there every morning was very revitalizing and made me feel connected to nature. Eddy and Valérie are true nature lovers; they work with nature and understand it.Eddy is an artist working with wood, stones or any other material.You will find special spots everywhere in their property and handcraft art pieces all around. They are an example and an inspiration of how to lead a more respectful, healthy lifestyle, focusing in what is essential in life. They are very kind, humble, and generous, and they love to share their lifestyle with others, showing us a different, healthier, and more beautiful way of life. During my stay, they also invited me to spend time with them and some of their friends on several occasions, which I greatly appreciated and further enriched my experience. The tasks were simple, mainly gardening, prunning trees and bushes, collecting mulch for the vegetable garden, polish and giving a new coat of barnish to some benches, helping to get ready some clay for building or cleaning. I used to work by my own and they gave me complete trust to organize my days and my work by my self.Communication was always easy, pleasant, and relaxed. I had plenty of free time to discover new places, relax, enjoy their place, and the company of my lovely friend Scuba. I also had the pleasure of assisting to Valérie's yoga classes, and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Valérie is a generous person with a very special energy that you can feel instantly. With her deep knowledge, love, and dedication, I went back to my yoga practice with greater depth, and I know that it has become part of my life again forever. Dear Eddy and Valérie, thank you from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me so warmly into your home, for sharing with  me such a beautiful path, and for your love and time.I am sure we will see each other again. You will always have a special place in my heart, wherever my steps may take me. I send you both a big hug and my best energy.

Cliff and Cath made us feel welcome from the first day. Cliff worked with us on the required tasks or clearly indicated the jobs he required. The accommodation is comfortable, and they both addressed our needs promptly, ie clean tea towels, washing up liquid etc. We were more than happy to extend our stay with this lovely couple, and we hope that our contribution during the workaway was helpful. We wish them all the best with their ongoing project

Tere!!! So 7 months later I'm finally giving the feedback vabandust for the delay 🙏. I will like to start thanking Emily and Marleen for giving me the chance to come to this magical place, for me it's so hard to start putting into words everything I lived here so I will try my best. Since the first moment I arrived here I felt a connection with the city and the hostel and I couldn't be more right about it. If you are looking for meeting a really nice community of international people please come and join us in the heart of Tartu, the best city in Estonia and probably in the world? I arrived here on April 18th expecting a three weeks experience in this hostel and I left on August 12th after almost 4 months of volunteering that completely changed my life. This hostel is the heart of Tartu, and the current team working here are the soul of the city. Meeting Paul, Katrina and Meel is definitely worth the experience of this volunteering. Special mention to all the volunteers that made this experience so worth it: Marzia, Kimberly, Isabelle, Veronica, Gordon, Simon, Klára, Daisy, Ryan, Mai, Charlotte, Lucie, Gabriel, Marie, Felix, Joâo, Ayla, Antoine, Sandra, Antonio and surprisingly Gordon again. (Apparently I'm not the only one crazy enough to come here for a second time). I really hope if you are reading this message till the end we can grab some beers at Barlova together. Saabumas to that!!

Mary has been an absolute gem to have around. She is incredibly independent and consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic. Her dedication to her tasks and her proactive attitude was amazing. Mary is always keen to help and sharing her knowledge whenever needed. Her positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile made her a true asset to our team. She was also great with our little boy that totally adores her. We always enjoyed our chats with Mary and will definitely miss her presence.

Pasamos 5 días increíbles con Sebastian. Es una persona profundamente humana, generosa y atenta, que nos hizo sentir como en casa desde el primer momento. Más allá del intercambio, nos permitió ayudarle en su empresa de eventos para niños, una experiencia muy enriquecedora que disfrutamos muchísimo. Además, compartió con nosotros un montón de consejos, direcciones e información para continuar nuestro viaje por Colombia. Nos quedamos con un recuerdo maravilloso de esta experiencia y de la gran calidad humana de Sebastian. ¡Muchas gracias por todo!

I stayed with my younger brother Jesse for three weeks at Kornelia and Andreas’s place, together with their dog Gianni. It was a truly special time. First of all, because of the magical location – at the foot of the volcano, with a breathtaking view over Tuscany. There was something spiritual and timeless about the place. Kornelia and Andreas are passionate, hardworking people who truly follow their dreams. Their energy is contagious and inspiring. They make you feel completely at home. Besides helping out on the land, I really enjoyed our conversations, the yoga sessions, playing table tennis, the delicious food and exploring the beautiful places in and around Tuscany. I especially loved working on the land, particularly harvesting the olives. Kornelia and Andreas involve you in the whole process – from picking the olives to the final product: the olive oil. It was an unforgettable three weeks, and I’ll cherish the experience. I would love to come back again someday.

Francesco was a wonderful workaway, with a calm and relaxed confidence from day one. He takes everything in his stride and simply rows in with whatever is going on in the house. Franco, as he became known, has a wonderful personality that just exudes confidence and enthusiasm. He has the ability to make everyone comfortable in his presence and chats and talks with ease. His was always willing to help with all the projects, was flexible when required and offered his opinion on all aspects of whatever we were doing. As a workaway he certainly enjoyed himself and mixed with everyone here, he will always be welcome back. I can certainly recommend him to all future hosts and employers as his talents and abilities will add to all environments and projects. We wish him all the best in all his endeavours in the future. J’ai travaillé dans le jardin pendant dix jours chez Joke et Eric. Grace à eux je pouvais essayer le surfing, waveskating et beaucoup d’autres choses. Lea et Fenn ont des personnalités très vivant et les deux chatons comme même. Merci pour tous!

Pendant deux semaines je faisais mon premier Workaway chez Anna et Patrick. Du début jusqu’à la fin la communication était super et ils m’ont aussi aidé avec les achats de billets pour le train! Le jardin est extrêmement beau avec les animaux, des légumes & des fruits et les fleurs. La maison m’a souviens de Peterson and Findus. Les chats et le chien sont très adorables chacun avec sa propre et différent personnalité. Si j‘ai le temps, je suis sur que je reviendrai. Merci pour tous!
