Detalhes
Descrição
This organic farm measures 9 hectares. It is family-run and has been certified organic since 1998. The farm produces extra-virgin olive oil, kiwis, small quantities of wine, cherries, figs, vegetables, and wild asparagus. It is located in Sabina, an area famous for its production of excellent olive oil. The owner, a high school teacher of agriculture, follows the volunteers. He requests help at different periods throughout the year, with a minimum stay of two weeks. Activities include harvesting and pruning. Volunteers can help 5 hours a day and rest two full days a week, or else choose to help extra hours whenever theres need. Volunteers eat typical products from the area. They can host 2 people throughout the year and 4 in october/november, during the olive and kiwi harvests. Two people can be hosted in a room with two single beds or in a double bed. The bathroom is private. Internet and bicycles are available for volunteers to use. There is also the possibility of volunteers having access to an independent kitchen. The house is located in Fara in Sabina (Rieti), in the center of a small rural village called Corese Terra, between hills covered with olive trees. The village is well connected to Rome (only 40km away). There is a bus stop 500 meters from the house and a regional train station about 5 km away (with a train about every 30 minutes). There are low-cost flights with connections to Roman airports: Fiumicino and Ciampino. If its necessary, we can pick you up from the station. With Rieti located in central Italy, Oro dei Quiriti is the ideal base for enjoying short stays in numerous Italian cities.

Thank you for everything!!! It wasn't my first time in Italy, but may be it was the deepest one. I learned how to cook polenta and gniocchi (I hope so and I try to do it at home). Every time I felt myself like at home. It was interesting to know more about olives, kiwi and asparragi selvatici :)
Hope to see you again!
