My current hosts, Patrick and Emilia, know Bill and Samantha very well and speak very highly of them. They are reasonable down to earth people while their properties and dog are adorable. Any Workawayer would be privileged to spend time with them.

Harish stayed with us for almost a month, and during his time here, he was a wonderful help around the farm. Whether it was weeding, cleaning, painting, or taking care of the animals, he worked with great initiative and didn’t need much guidance. He often took the lead and guided other volunteers in their tasks, which made him a really valuable part of the team. He’s a yoga teacher and a truly wonderful person with a constant smile. Since he lives just a few kilometers from our farm, he often brought delicious homemade food for everyone on weekends. He enjoyed playing cards with other volunteers and joining trips to the Monday market — such an easygoing and cheerful person to have around. Harish dreams of having his own farm one day, and we’re sure he’ll do great when that happens. We’d love to host you again in the future, Harish. Having Max and Ludi with us was just wonderful! 🌞 Isabela and I shared so many lovely moments with them — laughter, good talks, and peaceful days that made our home feel even warmer. From the very first day, everything felt natural and full of harmony. They were respectful, kind, and always brought a positive energy into the house. The help they gave came from the heart, and living together felt more like sharing time with friends than hosting volunteers. We’ll always remember their smiles and good vibes — and of course, they’ll always be welcome back home anytime. 💛

Gabe and I spent two weeks here and absolutely loved our time on the ranch. Kim and Pete were amazing hosts - very welcoming, accommodating and always ensured we had everything we needed. They were also kind enough to drop us off and pick us up from the train station a few times which allowed us to make the most of our free time. All the animals were such a joy to spend time with and we liked starting at 8am and doing the final hour at 5pm as it gave us a huge portion of the day to ourselves. The work was varied - we spent time grooming the horses and donkeys, regular poo picking of the paddocks, walking the dogs as well as various gardening and maintenance tasks which Gabe particularly liked. I was lucky enough to ride one of the horses and we both grew very fond of every one of the animals - it was hard to say goodbye! The room was very comfortable and the workawayers shared their own bathroom. There was always an abundance of food and it really felt like a home away from home. We hope to be back some day!

Tiffany and Jonathan were a real joy to host — reliable, sweet, and always smiling! They brought great energy and initiative, worked precisely and efficiently, and adapted easily to everything, including food and new people. They did excellent work: some electrical fixes, repaired a kitchen leak, built a lovely compost shed, repaired bikes, and did lots of useful cleaning. Before leaving, they even washed and tidied everything. I truly miss their sunny presence and highly recommend them to any host! 🌞

Luke didn't show up to the volunteer exchange as agreed

Having Laurence at our place was truly a blessing. Because I live abroad and my family hosts in my place, it gave me great peace of mind to have a responsible young person staying at home, especially since my mother is older. Laurence naturally stepped in to help and became someone we could rely on. My mom loves him like her own son — he speaks Thai, understands the culture, treats everyone with respect, and always maintains a fair and helpful attitude. Even when certain tasks were not originally part of his assignment, he was always willing to support — helping my mom, assisting other guests who came to stay, and contributing to the daily life around the farm. Although I wasn’t on site, we communicated a lot through WhatsApp, and he was always clear, honest, and proactive. I trusted him completely to stay at our home in my absence. Laurence worked very hard — both on garden projects and general upkeep — and he always did more than what was asked. His presence made everything smoother and brought comfort to my family. We are deeply grateful that he came, and we would welcome him back anytime. He will always have a home here. Thank you so much, Laurence!

Amazing responsible couple

I spent almost three weeks at Joha and José's. They were great hosts. Joha is one of the most knowledgeable people I met in Chile. She knows so much about tourism, culture, and the science behind how landscape is formed and animals. She helped me plan my itinerary for my trip in Patagonia after I left and her recommendations were really great. José was a great talented guy. He is absolutely passionate about cooking and together we had really delicious classy food. They were very friendly and generous hosts and I loved our conversations about everything possible and practiced my Spanish with them. They also have 6 dogs, 2 cats and chickens. I enjoyed taking care and spending time with their animals. The location of their place is wonderful. It is near the city of Coyhaique, yet feels remote where you can disconnect and connect with nature. There were great hikes nearby. Also, it was an unforgettable adventure for me to get there from Santiago. Due to Patagonia's unpredictable weather, we couldn't work much on the land. So, I mostly helped inside the house and in pet-sitting while they were not there. But I also worked in cutting and arranging fire wood. I had tons of free time though. Thank you Joha and José for making this experience possible with your kindness and knowledge :)

Siamo stati con loro per 3 settimane. E abbiamo fatto diversi compiti come aiutare con gli animali, imbiancare e altri cose nel orto. Di loro abbiamo imparato più di animali, di come si fa la smielatura. Abbiamo parlato di molte cose, da animali e piante e cose più importanti e profonde per noi come la politica, economia. Marco ci fatto sentire tante musiche, che fino adesso continuamo ascoltando. Yulia e molto carina e ha proposto de le cose per fare con i ragazzi e ci abbiamo divertito insieme. È stata una esperienza molto piacevole per noi, dove abbiamo avuto un equilibrio tra il lavoro e godere il tempo libero. Li consigliamo a chi vuole vivere un'esperienza divertente in un piccolo paese immerso nella natura.

I had a great time with Anna Katrín and her family. They are very kind and funny and learned me a lot about their icelandic culture. I had various tasks to do and it was never boring. I am really grateful that they hosted me and I would be happy to meet them again someday :-)

Estuve 5 semanas en la Fundación y hasta la fecha ha sido mi mejor experiencia de voluntariado. La Fundación es un hogar donde cada persona tiene la oportunidad de descubrir y disfrutar de un entorno muy seguro para los alumnos (niños y adultos). El proyecto de Martín, el director de la fundación, me hizo ver la importancia de aceptar cada persona como es para que se sienta integrada a una causa común. De tal manera, han podido crear algo más grande donde vemos la importancia de la colectividad en un mundo que a veces nos hace sentir rechazados por no ser conforme a los esquemas y estándares. Fue una estancia realmente inspiradora, agradezco a Martín y a todos los miembros de la fundación por el cariño, las risas, los momentos compartidos. Espero poder volver cuánto antes 🌞🌻!

Cristian worked at my little café for the summer season and I call myself extremely lucky to have found him on here! He was always there when he was needed no matter how last minute I reached out, he was eager to learn and tried his best in all situations and brought good vibes 24/7. Would highly recommend taking him on, he‘s a great addition to any team! :)

Querido Colin: Queríamos tomarnos un momento especial para expresarte nuestro profundo agradecimiento por todo el valor que has aportado a nuestra villa durante tu estancia. No solo hemos compartido trabajo, sino que hemos disfrutado de innumerables momentos de calidad: cenas, comidas memorables, risas y el disfrute. Algo que nos ha gustado mucho es tu claridad y convicción en lo que querías…querías aprender el español y a pesar de la dificultad en atender nuestras conversaciones aún así querías que no hiciéramos el esfuerzo de hablar en inglés, siempre manteniendo una actitud de escucha genuina y una sed constante de aprendizaje en todo lo que hemos compartido. Tu disposición ha sido, sencillamente, brutal. Siempre con una actitud de ayuda proactiva y colaboración incondicional. Nos ha encantado ver cómo es posible mantener las ganas de aprender y la curiosidad de un niño en una persona adulta cuando tenemos claro cuál es nuestro sueño y sobre todo no tener miedo de perseguirlo haciendo de las dificultades ese crecimiento y evolución personal. Siempre nos acordaremos de ti cuando hagamos alguna comida que nos salga un UMMMM!!! jejeje…. Queremos que sepas que las puertas de nuestra villa de Gracia estarán siempre abiertas para ti. I stayed here for nearly 6 months, summer of 25. I really enjoyed the whole experience! The family are lovely and really take care of the staff. The accommodation is spacious and well appointed. The food is excellent and generous. Schnaid is a quiet little village but with lots of little spots to explore and a cute town nearby, I managed to try my hand at a few different things and picked up some skills along the way! The pet Emu's were fun to watch as well! Martin and Peter were both super friendly and easy to get along with as were the other colleagues. After work beers were a great way to get to know the other Workawayers and really enjoyable! Pro Tip: Try the honey, its the best you'll ever taste!

Fabián fue un workawayer excepcional y muy alegre. Gran colaborador, nos ayudó mucho en casa y el paseo diario de los doggis. Dejaba la cocina impecable. Fue una gran compañía para nosotros y mi esposo (¡vieron mucho fútbol juntos!). Compartimos y mostramos nuestra cultura con gusto. Aunque se enfermó, cumplió con creces. Súper bien con Fabián. Recomendado y invitado a volver y disfrutar del sunset.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Ideal Workaway Volunteers! Rodolfo & Linda were truly the ideal Workaway volunteers – pleasant, extremely helpful, and remarkably talented. Their photography and videography skills were outstanding. They brought several cameras and drones and didn't just capture footage – they created compelling videos that told our story beautifully. We've been using their content on our social media platforms and couldn't be happier with the results. What impressed us most was their versatility. Beyond their creative talents, they also excelled at manual labor and landscaping projects. They approached every task with enthusiasm and skill, whether behind a camera or working with their hands. Rodolfo & Linda are exactly the kind of volunteers every host hopes for: multi-talented, hard-working, and wonderful to be around. We really enjoyed hosting them and highly recommend them to other hosts. They're always welcome to return.

Andrea spent three weeks with us and was an absolute pleasure to host. He was enthusiastic about all the projects, incredibly skilled, and worked with impressive speed and quality. Andrea's carpentry and construction expertise were exceptional. He not only completed excellent work but also taught my team new techniques and approaches – including a new method for building doors that turned out beautifully. He fixed all our doors to swing properly and demonstrated a high-level understanding of how everything works together. What made Andrea truly special was his willingness to share his knowledge. My entire team learned so much from him, and we're all very grateful for his contribution to our project. Andrea is highly skilled, pleasant to work with, and brings both expertise and a great attitude. I couldn't recommend him more highly to other hosts. Our doors are always open for his return – we would welcome him back anytime!

I had the chance to spend 10 days with Lia and her parents. We created wonderful memories together, with varied cooking sessions and lovely moments of sharing. Lia was perfect for organisation, always thoughtful, helpful and attentive to our needs. The work was always clearly defined and her parents were very accommodating. We felt like we were part of the family. I couldn't have hoped for a better stay. I hope to see you again soon ;)

I had a wonderful two weeks at Diogo’s permaculture project. Diogo is a very warm person and I felt I learnt a lot from him. I enjoyed our conversations, gathering food from the gardens and cooking lunch with the other volunteers every day. My main task was making some decorative pottery pieces for the ranch, which was a lot of fun. Thank you Diogo!
