Basil and Ananda are very respectful. They always do their best to offer help. In this home, you always receive clear instructions, and there’s never a day you feel uncertain. In the mornings, you contribute your effort to the community, and in the afternoons, you’re free to explore Denmark. Even outside of volunteer hours, they make you feel welcome to join their activities. It’s been a truly meaningful experience with them.

I feel lucky that my steps have led me to Hoverberg. Ashild care a lot about the people who come to help to build her beautiful project. Thanks for having me, thanks for the ABBA and mother earth moments as well. Hope I'll come again to see how things have evolved. Take care and happy 5th birthday to Lyckans gard.

Eduardo ha sido un voluntario excepcional durante su estancia con nosotros. Se ha destacado por su carisma, responsabilidad y disposición constante para colaborar en cada actividad. Su actitud positiva y su capacidad para conectar con los niños y con la comunidad en general han sido admirables. Además, demostró ser una persona reflexiva, inteligente y comprometida con los valores del proyecto. Su aporte fue de gran valor tanto en el trabajo diario como en el ambiente del equipo. J’ai été accueillie très généreusement par François. Il m’a offert un confort exceptionnel, en me mettant à disposition un duplex entièrement équipé. J’ai pu profiter de la piscine, passer du temps avec lui, discuter de tout et de rien, et observer les animaux sauvages qui traversent son jardin — un vrai petit coin de jungle. Même si le projet du refuge est pour l’instant un peu en pause, il y a toujours un peu de travail à faire, et j’aurais aimé pouvoir en faire davantage.

I loved spending time with Raoul and Mario. I immediately felt comfortable and safe at their place, just like at home. It was a real immersion into Panamanian life — I had the chance to meet their friends, share beautiful moments, and taste local food. Raoul and his brother are truly kind, generous, and genuine people, with their hearts in the right place. Even their animals have something special about them. Thank you so much!

Naomi was with us for one week only, but we would have loved her to remain longer. She is an exceptional cook. She is strong and smart, which made her work as olive picker very efficient. She is good in coordinating with other workers, and she was able to keep an overall eye on what was needed at all times. She is talkative and warm and loves animals, which is always a plus for us, and she was also good at bonding with our daughter. She is sensitive, so beware of your bad moods because she will feel them all!

Cara samanta, caro Paolo, caro Daniele, cara Amelia grazie mille per tutto il mio cuore di laciatemi essere un membro della vostra famiglia simpatica e aperta. E stata davvero un esperienza meravigliosa per me! Fin dall`inizio mi sono sentita benvenuta: tutto è iniziato con la torta deleziosa di benvenuto ed il giro della cità il primo giorno, durante il quale Paolo mi ha mostrato tutto ciò che era importante conoscere. Mi avete dato molta fiducia e mi avete offerto l'oppotunitá di esplorare i bellissimi dintorni o i cità vicini in bicicletta o in treno. Daniele e Amelia sono dei bambini così adorabili, gentili e ben educati con cui mi è piaciuta giocare, fare i compiti o cucinare o preparare le torte o il pane. Ero cosi felice di essere stata invitata a cena da entrambi i nonni e di aver potuto participare alla cena a casa con gli amici e ad una festa della parocchia!! Mi è piaciuta molto anche cucinare insieme le ricette italiani e tedeschi. Che bello che Daniele sia diventato un vero specialista del pane di zucca!! La nostra escursione nella Valle Sesia e la meditazione con la luna piena nel castello rimarranno per me indimenticabili. Potrei elencare altre cose meravigliose vissute con voi, ma ognuno deve fare le proprie esperienze. Consiglio vivamente il soggiorno da Paolo e dalla sua famiglia e spero che ci rivedremo presto sia in Italia sia in Germania. Di nuovo grazie e un forte abbraccio a tutti voi da Inga

I spent 3 weeks with Cros and the others in the forest and had a blast! From the moment I arrived I felt like part of the group. The work varies and Cros is also open to let you do your own things if you like. In the evenings sometimes we made fire, braai with braaibrodjies and much more. The calm and easy atmosphere made me feel very good and I'm sure we'll see each other again sometime!

I had a wonderful time with Annick. She is really friendly and never turns down a request. The surroundings, the garden, everything is so idyllic and wonderful. I will definitely remember this time for a long time to come. Thank you for everything, Annick.

We stayed with Fran and his family for one week. From the start they made us feel at home and were so lovely and caring. Antonia, Fran‘s mother, cooked amazing meals. She will make sure that you will eat enough! We had interesting discussions and also laughed a lot together at the dining table. Fran speaks English, so he could translate, when we had trouble understanding the andalusian accent;) We worked for around 4-5 hours in the morning. Fran explained very well what we had to do, he even did an introduction the evening before we started the work. That was helpful, so we could already imagine, how the work has to be done. When we came home from work we enjoyed delicious food and then had the afternoon off. Algodonales is perfectly located to visit all the beautiful villages in the area. We highly recommend this place, it is a unique and authentic experience and you are taken care of very well. Thank you for this beautiful experience!

We had a wonderful time helping out at this family-owned hostel in the heart of La Candalaria, Bogotá. The location was perfect for exploring all the tourist spots and enjoying the nightlife. it was a very safe area with lots of police presence, making it feel even safer. The work was very easy, just manning the front desk for 3 hours a day. They were flexible with allowing us to work around our online teaching and exploration schedule. Accomodations were typical hostel bunk beds with a shared bathroom, very clean. They let us use the machines to do laundry free of charge as well. The staff and other volunteers were all very friendly and helpful. If you need a place to lay your head while exploring the city, we highly recommend this workaway.

We spent 8 wks working at this place and we had the most enjoyable time here. The location is amazing so peaceful and so many hiking trails nearby. Adria and Marc are so welcoming and friendly and we felt very much at ease here. They are both very easy going... I spent most of my time either housekeeping or helping in the kitchen making breakfast. James spent most of his time in the garden or helping with dinner service. Adria is also an amazing cook and we got to experience so many of her fabulous dishes that she cooked for us. We will remember our time here fondly, and we would definitely recommend to other workawayers . Thank you both so much for your kindness and generosity.

what a fun and amazing experience. Karen was a great host and she provided a large apartment in a secure compound where she and her family lived and it's right next to the school Karen was super friendly and accommodating and was very clear on her expectations. she was also super fun to hang out with and took us to several local places including nearby Banos waterfalls. the kids were especially fun to work with. we got to work independent with some of the more advanced students both kids and adults. absolutely will cherish this memory thanks Karen and hope to see you again either in Florida or back in ambato!

Era mi primera experiencia con Workaway y fue todo un éxito. Disfruté mucho de mi estancia; me sentí muy bien acogida. Jens y Rosi me recibieron con los brazos abiertos en su vida y enseguida me hicieron sentir como en casa, también en mi acogedora habitación con baño privado. Las cinco horas de trabajo al día se me pasaban volando. Pasé la mayor parte del tiempo en el jardín, donde a menudo me visitaban pavos y pollitos. Siempre comíamos juntos, a menudo con amigos o familiares (¡saludos a Rafa!). Había mucha comida (en su mayoría abundante, pero deliciosa). Definitivamente, nada para una dieta: huevos rotos, churros, tiramisú y otros postres deliciosos. Mi español mejoró mucho gracias a Rosi, que pacientemente me explicaba vocabulario o me corregía, o nos reíamos juntos de mis errores. También mantuvimos conversaciones abiertas sobre diversos temas, entre ellos la política y la sociedad. Jens y Rosi tienen opiniones bastante inusuales y sorprendentes. Recomiendo explorar esta hermosa isla con un coche de alquiler, ya que el servicio de autobuses es limitado los fines de semana. También hay algunas rutas de senderismo muy bonitas en los alrededores, como la corta caminata a Santa Cruz o a la iglesia de Las Nieves (donde hay un restaurante muy bueno). En resumen: estoy muy contento y agradecido por esta experiencia y por la cálida bienvenida. ¡Muchas gracias y buena cosecha!

Sophia zu hosten war ein große Bereicherung. Wir sind sehr dankbar für ihre Hilfe. Sie hat stundenlang akribisch auch das letzte Unkraut gezupft und uns damit einen großen Dienst erwiesen. Durch ihre Erfahrung im Gartenbau, die sie schon mitbrachte, hatte sie die Gartenarbeit gut im Blick und kannte sich sehr gut mit den Aufgaben und den Pflanzen aus. Sie hat alles immer mit Freude und guter Laune erledigt. Sie ist zudem sehr musikalisch und wir hatten das Glück und die Freude, dass sie nicht nur in unserem Singkreis mitgemacht, sondern sogar ein Konzert mit uns gesungen hat. Außerdem hat sie eine fantastische Beziehung zu Tieren- unvergessen bleibt ihr geduldiger Einsatz, den Esel Felipe davon zu überzeugen, nun doch in sein Gehege zurückzukehren- was ihr schließlich auch gelang. Aber auch die Katzen suchten oft und gern ihre Gegenwart. Einige gemeinsame Ausflüge ans Meer und Spaziergänge konnten wir auch genießen. Die Mädels wollten auch am liebsten immer viel Zeit mit Sophia verbringen. Das ist verständlich, denn sie ist eine fröhliche, offene und angenehme Person, mit der man sich gern umgibt. DANKE, Sophia, dass Du Zeit hier mit uns verbracht hast!

Marga stayed with us for some weeks and it was amazing! She is such a lovely, friendly and skilled person. She shares a lot of experience and was a huge support in our house and on the field. Marga is not only perfectly organized but also pro active and super diligent. She made our home in no time even more cosy and comfortable and had a valuable helping hand not only in the kitchen but also with our daughters. She was so kind to bring handy crafts material and gifts for them and happily sat down and became creative with Alma and Kaya. She has an eye for details but also keeps the overall view. She was the first workaway volunteer who rented their own car which made her super independent. Marga preferred to work in the mornings and then took the afternoons off to explore the island and some of her favorite beaches. She helped me deep clean the chickens corral and worked many hours in the garden, fighting amor seco and other weeds. She was also very happy to share her Dutch language and we had some good laughs. Marga is fluent in German and English which made communication very easy. Not to forget the kitchen talks on life, faith and experiences. It was mere pleasure! She was even taking care of the whole finca while we were away for 4 days. Every task she fulfilled perfectly and she even overdelivered. We are so lucky having that opportunity to host her- 5 stars in every aspect. Dank u wel uit de grond van mijn hartwell, dear Marga!

I met a lot of amazing people and I usually had fun at work. The team is very multicultural and I enjoyed meeting new people. I felt like everyone in the team got along very well and helped eachother out. I definitely made some friends here and also enjoyed spending time with them after work. You can earn very good if youre motivated, especially in the summer months. The work can be challenging sometimes, but it is also very fun and a great experience. You learn a lot about sales and you will be taught everything you need know.

Having Emilie stay with us was an absolute joy — I honestly didn’t want her to leave! From the moment she arrived, she brought such a calm, caring, and positive energy into our home. She connected beautifully with everyone (including our dog Pipo, who absolutely adored her) and treated everything she did with real attention and heart. Emilie has a natural sense of initiative and responsibility — she sees what needs to be done and does it with care, creativity, and diligence. Whether it was helping around the house, gardening, or spending time with Pipo, she always went above and beyond, often anticipating what would make life a little easier or nicer for us. I still miss her delicious meals she prepared with so much love. What stood out the most is her genuine kindness and the way she approaches people and animals with respect and intuition. She’s independent yet easygoing, thoughtful, and full of life. We shared wonderful conversations, laughter, and quiet moments — she left a beautiful energy behind that we all felt. Any host would be incredibly lucky to have her. She’s one of those rare Workawayers who makes a place feel better just by being there. Merci Emilie — you’ll always have a place here, and Pipo will be waiting for more cuddles!

We stayed for a week here to create content for socials and had the best time! Communication was quick and clear when planning our stay, and the stay itself was so much fun. We made 10 reels over the week (some short, some long) and took a bunch of pics, and Duncan was super laidback about the work. The co-living is a great place to stay, right in the center of diani and walking distance from the beach, with comfy rooms and speedy wifi, food is awesome, coffee machine is top-notch, and all are the staff are so so nice. 100% recommend
