I spent a little less than two weeks at the family house with Barbara and two of her children in September. I had the opportunity to complete a project of building a 'Hochbeet', and otherwise take care of the garden and sometimes cook. I am super grateful for Barbara for having me there, I absolutely felt part of the household and family:). She was also super helpful with my German learning journey, we actually only spoke in German that helped me fight my fear of speaking the language. It wasn't a surprise though as she's a teacher and also volunteers in a language café, where I could also participate and practise my German with people with various backgrounds. Moreover, I could hear and learn a lot about their journeys. I really hope to return once and contribute with something more to the family:). Thank you!

I spend six weeks with Sophia, Zoé and Luna. It was an amazing experience and I am super happy I was able to meet such sweet people and share a great time with them! I felt very welcome and included in their family. We spend lots of nice evenings in the kitchen and shared many laughs. Sophia is a very inspiring and interesting person that I could have great conversations with and I learned a lot during my stay. Zoe is a super funny and active kid and I laughed a lot with her. She can spend great time on her own but also is very creative in finding new things to do! Luna the dog is so sweet and social, always making me smile when I saw her. I spend some great weeks with them and I was really sad when I had to leave. I really recommend them to anyone who is looking for culture, fun and lots of love. Denia is a beautiful place and I enjoyed many walks around the area. Thank you so much for the great time I hope to see you again!

Robert and Federica are a nice couple. They arrived at our place in their own camper. While staying in our homestead, they completed every task with care. Also we had a great time together, sharing conversations, experiences, and knowledge, spended free time and cooked together Italian and Llatvian food. They are easy-going and responsible. They also took care of our homestead while we were away for a couple of days. Thank you, Robert and Federica! We wish you all the best in finding the next meaningful chapter of your journey.

My friend Elena and I spent three amazing weeks at Connie and Wolfgang's little paradise as a first workaway experience. We felt quickly at ease with them, since they were so welcoming and kind to us. The place is truly beautiful, and the caravan is beyond comfortable, you will for sure sleep good. We had the chance to work on various projects there, including building the bamboo roof for an outdoor kitchen, picking up stones, crafting bamboo insect hotels, planting cabbage and finally starting with the olive harvest ! All of it was a pleasure and so was sharing meals and quality time with Connie and Wolfgang. Connie is an amazing cook and every meal was delicious 😋. We had a great time and lots of interesting conversations, lots of laughter too. Their seven dogs are adorable and it was a unique experience witnessing a dog pack's dynamic. I would gladly recommend Connie and Wolfgang's workaway to anyone who is not too afraid of big dogs ! Thank you for everything, I will remember this experience all my life. 💕

Raphael is a lovely young man with a great personality and attitude to life. We found him to be very polite, respectful and always has a big smile on his face. He is a very willing worker and has the initiative to get on with whatever project he was doing. We wish him well with his next workaway experience and they will be very lucky to have him.

Lukas was a great workawayer. We touched base several times but we were not able to schedule a video call. Fortunately, Lukas persisted and we were able to connect and he stayed with us for a week. He was very easy to get along with during his stay, worked hard and could work independently. He helped with cleaning, installing flooring and he even helped re-shingle a small roof. We would have him back any time as he was a welcome addition.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Getxe and René's place for only five days, definitely too short! They are truly inspiring and wonderful people and we felt extremely welcomed from the minute we met. They had some bigger tasks for us, which we really enjoyed (dismantling old horse stables, clearing part of the forest and making fire wood out of the trees, chicken maintenance and more). There are endless tasks on the land and you'll always find something you enjoy. What really stood out to us was their generosity and how appreciated we felt, even though we couldn't stay long. They were super grateful for all the work we did, which really motivated us. Their land and its surroundings are beautiful! We slept in the little cabin (really cozy!) and mainly shared the bathroom in the main house but also used the outside compost toilet which comes with a nice view of the green hills. We really enjoyed having meals together. Their son is a great cook and once made us a delicious paella (banger!!!!). Dinner or lunch always ended with interesting and meaningful conversations. We'd definitely recommend staying there, especially if you don't mind being on your own form time to time, as they're quite busy and not always around. But they always made sure we had all the information we needed and felt comfortable. We didn't mind that at all since there were two of us. We can't wait to go back!!

Volunteering at Dick and Angela’s farm was an absolute pleasure! They’re fantastic hosts, so kind, welcoming, and always making sure you’re comfortable. Lovely people to spend time with. I learned so much about the alpacas and got plenty of hands-on experience, which was amazing. The morning and evening routines with the animals were peaceful and enjoyable, I looked forward to them every day! The alpacas always made me laugh. On my days off, I got to explore local museums, beautiful beaches, and enjoyed some great local food. The area has a lot to offer! Dick and Angela have such a beautiful farm and really exciting plans for the future as well. I’m so grateful for the experience and really hope to come back one day. Thank you both so much!

It was everything I was hoping for and more! This was an amazing Workaway, I can't recommend it enough. I was there during the off season, so the farm was pretty quiet, but I met plenty of locals and got really close with the team we had. Figs, pumpkins, pomegranates, and persimmons were in season during my time, and it gave me such an appreciation to eat seasonally. The work is varied and engaging. The farm is in a beautiful location right next to the water. Volunteering here is a great opportunity to connect with nature, work with the land, try to find our natural place in this ecosystem, and get back to basics a little bit more.

Mateo stayed with us for two weeks and was excellent company. I took him in last minute and he was super flexible while sorting out his travel plans - easy-going and adaptable. He worked on building the compost toilet and brought solid woodshop skills to the project. What really made him stand out was his personality - genuinely funny and kept dinner conversations lively. In a group of three WorkAwayers, he was the social glue that kept everyone connected. Mateo was ambitious about learning French (respect, even though we mostly spoke English) and helped me tackle a mountain of bike repairs and storage. He also cooked for us a few times - good skills, though his repertoire is currently pasta-and-rice-based. Next host: I challenge you to give this man a cookbook and watch him level up, because he's definitely got the potential. Super chill, grateful, and great company. Would 100% have him back. 6-7 weeks would've been fire.

WOW! What have I spend a wonderful time here. This is already my second time I have been there. The children are AMAZING. They are so interested and so much fun. Literally everyone at the school has become my friend. Stephen and his family have taken so good care of me. The accommodation is great, as I got my own private room and bathing place. Further all meals are always provided! When you first arrive, some conditions could be tough (no shower, outdoor toilet), but you will get used to these pretty quick! Further, just the fact of being among the children will make that you will have a GREAT time here, despite any tough conditions. I have gained lots of experience of teaching at the school, standing in front of sometimes 100 children. The great thing is also that your room is located in the middle of the school compound, which means that the children (the boarders) are always there to chat with. The children are aged from 4-18 which means you will get friends among all ages. In addition, you will become friends with the teachers and other employees. Town is close by, on walking distance. There you can get your supplies. I would advice volunteers to also bring with you some games, like board games or outdoor games. The children love these. This was already my second time at the school and I think and hope a third time will also come!

Amazing experience! I stayed with Elena and Gian Marco for a week: it was my first experience with Workaway. Their hospitality, helpfulness and clarity were a great help to me. They are both very fair in agreeing on the work to be done and give you complete freedom in your free time. The room is spacious and the bathrooms are shared, but as there are two of them, they are very manageable. The food is always delicious and Elena prepares a wide variety of dishes, obviously accompanied by their own produce. The tasks vary greatly from day to day, but they are also suitable for those with no experience in agriculture (like me). The hosts are ready to explain everything: they are very passionate and have a big dream they want to realise. The atmosphere is immediately welcoming, which helps a lot in settling in. Elena and Gian Marco are fantastic and are always ready to talk about anything, from the silliest to the most serious topics. As they say, hosting people through Workaway is like meeting friends you didn't know you had. Thank you again for everything!

Joowon stayed with us for 2.5 weeks and was an excellent guest. He was eager to learn and worked well on the compost toilet construction project, quickly picking up new woodworking skills. What stood out most was how he connected with my oldest daughter; giving her piano lessons and playing games with her. He also helped keep the kitchen tidy without being asked, which was much appreciated in a busy household. We made kimchi together using my cousin's recipe, and despite his initial skepticism about my non-traditional carrot addition, he loved it enough to ask for the recipe at his next host - high praise indeed! Joowon was respectful, self-sufficient, and great company. I'd happily recommend him to other hosts.

Jan is a very Kind, intelligent and well educated man. We did a lot of gardening together and it was a great help ! He is a language teatcher and gave italian lessons to my children and they loved it. I was lucky to have him cause he helped me to pick up my children at School and took care of my dog, cat and house when I was working. You can trust him and I highly recommande him.

It was great hosting Samuel during his stay in Toronto! He’s easygoing, friendly, and fun to hang out with. Although he is new to workaway, I can see him as a great addition to the community. He respected my space, followed the house rules, and helped me with many chores in the house! I had a great time chatting, sharing meals, and hanging out with him. Lila is a warm kind and welcoming host. The bed was a comfortable kingsize. She has two lovely girls that are very educated, a Beautiful Sint bernard dog and Bloom is the sweetest cuddling cat. We did a lot of gardening together, she was very grateful because a huge garden for a women alone is a challenge in the tropics. I highly recommend lila and her sweet family

An absolutely magical experience with hafize! everyday it felt like a dream waking up to all the beauties surrounding in the mountains. Hafize is a kind, heartful, joyous human being. She has this childlike wonder quality that makes the experience uniqe and different. She has a very interesting lifestyle and it was a pleasure to share it with her. There is plenty of help you can give hafize. She is living in the property alone and there is a lot to be done in terms of maintenance, gardening, preparing for different seasons. There is plenty of fruits depending on the season which you can treat youself with, and many amazing roads to explore around. The nearest vilage is about 15 minutes away walking. This is a place to immerse yourself in the quietness away from city and bask in the sceneries which you cant find anywhere else. Hafize i will come back soon!

We stayed with her eight nights in our farm with basic needs but she didn't mind with that and she was really helpful all the time like in the kitchen or outside in the field. We found that she is a perfect volunteer to have in our farm so if anyone wants to have really great helpful volunteer in the future than please welcome her immediately.

J'ai passé un mois à l'institut. J'ai été accueillie par Marisol et Laura, qui sont absolument adorables. Toute l'équipe de l'institut est très sympathique et serviable. Les étudiants de l'institut sont particulièrement motivés et les cours sont très agréables. Le logement est également pratique et agréable, en plus d'être bien situé. J'ai eu la chance d'être à Tunja pendant un festival culturel, la ville était donc encore plus animée et les activités ne manquaient pas ! La ville est probablement plus froide que le reste de la Colombie, mais pas plus froide qu'un automne français, alors n'oubliez pas votre crème solaire lorsque vous sortez ! Dans l'ensemble, je recommande vivement ce programme de volontariat à tous ceux qui souhaitent enseigner, avec ou sans expérience préalable.

It was wonderful having Brenda be part of our household! We enjoyed learning about her life in Estonia, she was always very conscientious and helpful around the house and garden, and it was a pleasure to include her in our social life, including a concert and community meal, a vide-grenier, and a friend's birthday party. We're wishing her well as she continues on her Workaway journey!
