I had an amazing time with Peter, Prija and Zarja. Everything beforehand was thoroughly explained with the ESC and Prija really tries to make everything perfect for everyone. I also received additional mentorship which I very much appreciated. I felt welcome and connected to everyone here! Definitely will stop by again when I'm in the area <3

We spent a week with Adam, Anna and Franek. We enjoyed our stay a lot. They are very welcoming and made us feel at home. The work in itself was outside and physical but Adam makes it fun and very interesting. We got to learn new skills and we did many different things : pouring concrete, laying bricks... Overall we didn’t see time pass during the work day as we enjoyed ourselves very much. He is a very creative person and we learned a lot from him. We got to experience polish culture with them and they were always happy to answer our questions. Anna truly is a wonderful cook and we had the pleasure to eat homemade meals every day. The house and garden is very nice, and we got to meet the chickens, the goats, and the dogs Ludka and Pixel ! Thank you guys so much for hosting us ! We truly had a great time ☺️

Ana is an amazing person, she was a gift to a difficult time in my life. Ana was very supportive emotionally and practically. She took care of Sara and did all the chores at home without asking. If she ask you don’t hesitate to accept her request My dear Ana thank you so much !! I hope to meet you in the near future!! I love you!!

I had an unforgettable time here staying with these wonderful, kind people. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been contacted by Magdalena. I don't think I could have dreamed up a better combination of aspects for this experience. The North of Sweden is a stunning place with nature all around. From hiking, to skiing and sledding across the lake, there is a lot of fun to be had outdoors! Speaking of fun, nightly board game sessions were one of my favourite times of the day. As well as the delicious meals served up around the dinner table, you couldn't ask for much more. I had an amazing, cosy cabin all to myself. It was always so warm and toasty, and waking up here every morning and looking out across the lake from inside was stunning, just like witnessing the magic of the Northern Lights at night. Daily tasks included feeding the beautiful huskies, cleaning their yards, bringing them on walks and general help around the house or odd jobs such as changing tyres, fixing fences etc. It really didn't feel like work at all. I felt connected here, both to the people and the landscape. The family who live in this little village create a lovely, warm sense of community and safety. It is unlike anything I've witnessed before, and am incredibly envious of this lifestyle. Magdalena's own family are all awesome and uniquely themselves and I enjoyed their company so much. The resident Hollow Knight expert and (self-proclaimed) ''demon'' child are sure to keep dull moments away when they're around! I also picked up many useful and practical skills from Tor-Henrik, to whom I thank. Magdalena herself is a kind, gracious host, who fills rooms with joy with her laughter, was always a pleasure to contend with in board games and is just a lovely person all round. I learned a lot while I was here, if only for 3 weeks, about life in the North, nature and also about myself. It was the best 3 weeks I've had in a long time, and hopefully in the future I will return to go on more adventures! If you find yourself with the opportunity to experience this for yourself, you would be a fool not to take it. Just do it! (P.S. Beware the demon girl, no joke lol. I think she's secretly growing an insect army with Bob as the leader...)

Thomas and Cloe stayed here for a week. They did wonders together - planting, fixing the roof, cleaning, cooking amazing dishes...and many more. We went hiking together - but everyone was impressed by their hitch-hiking stories :) Wish you all the best for the future!

Henning was the perfect work away. Willing to try new things, learn new skills and help out any way that needed. Clean, polite, and exceptional English as well as communication. He would be welcome back any time.

We've loved hosting Tye. An inspiring guy who fitted into our way of life very well. He's super respectful and very appreciative. His chilled take on life was refreshing. We loved the calmness and dry sense of humour that he bought to our home. The help he was able to give us was gold. Tye was able to solve the long running problems we've had with our kitchen cupboard doors. He left with everyone of our doors hanging, functioning and looking good. He repaired a broken door lock that was beyond us to work out, built two sets of steps for our deck, extended a chicken run and best of all, built a frame on wheels for a chicken tractor. We're very appreciative that he was happy to share his carpentry skills while here. Everything was completed to a high standard, it was so nice being able to hand over these tasks without needing to worry about the quality of the work. Tye has amazing attention to detail outside of carpentry and managed to line trim our overgrown grass slopes to glossy magazine standard. He swept and tidied in preparation for a special birthday party, that we hosted during his stay. During the party he helped out with host duties and fitted in really well with our friends. On top of all this he also faithfully fed our chickens breakfast each day. A top all round guy who we suspect will slot into our kiwi lifestyles really well. All the best for some great down under experiences Tye.

Hélène spent some 9 days here - and it was great. Such a reliable person - you could trust her with your life. She assisted in the gardens, in the kitchen, in keeping the place in order. We hiked together and shared interesting conversations. One of these connections that makes you sad to see her go. All the best for the future!

I have stayed with Louisa and Stuart for a while (3 months), so I have obviously been very comfortable with them. They are truly lovely people. They are very welcoming in their home and lives, and you are invited to take part of family dinner, boardgame and movie nights. The work itself is centered around the vegetable gardens, general farm upkeep and prep work for food. They are very good at trying to find something everybody can partake in, and adapt to the skills of the workawayer. Though you have to be mindful that this is definitely a farm and farmwork will get dirty. They have room for several workawayers, so there is often other people to chat and work with which is really nice, when you are in a remote location. They are great at offering to take you on a few local trips, during the week. The farm itself is beautifully situated with a gorgeous view of the Pyrenees, and on clear nights you see the Milky Way. I would really recommend anybody to visit Louisa and Stuart if they enjoy a social environment and a great opportunity to de-stress from everyday busyness.

Shreya spent some ten days with us. Kind, interesting person. Responsible and hard-working. Everyone in the team enjoyed her presence. We worked on a variety of tasks together. She led a fire ceremony. Made new friends here that she met at the next leg of her trip. We would gladly have her back :)

Samantha is a cheerful young lady who obviously loves to travel. She shared many stories of her experiences with us. Although she has little experiences in gardening she set to, to assist Brent in repairing and landscaping areas of our garden. We wish her well in her future travel adventures.

Oliwia stayed about 2 weeks with us, helping us with olive picking. She's gentle and intelligent. We liked much having her around us. We wish her all the best with her new job although with a name like that, she might fit in better among the olive trees and olives :,-)

I had an amazing time on the island- Pascal is so fun and welcoming, and I made some great friends with the other volunteers. There are always people coming and going from the island and it was fun to get to know them. And of course it's never lonely with the donkeys and the dogs (Ayun you have my heart!) The work was mainly cleaning and preparing the camping area, moving sticks and a bit of work in the garden, but it was never too hard and we definitely never worked more than the 5hrs a day. Cooking is mainly down to the volunteers, and all the ingredients are provided. I also had the opportunity to go sailing a few times, which I absolutely loved; one time we sailed to Calbuco to do the shopping! I hope one day I can return to the island :))

It's funny. I just realized I was smiling while scrolling down the page to write my review as I remembered my time there. It was really memorable. All our talks, and the work we did together, and the trips, and the meals (even your butter and cheese mess). Thank you for receiving me with such a loving care and thoughtfulness. So you workawayers thinking of coming, just do it. There's a lot to do in their house, working ours are respected, you get a comfortable bedroom with your own bathroom, beautiful views of the lake just a minute walk away, beautiful possibilities of hiking (including the mountain right behind their house), cycling, swimming (if you're a sometimes brave, sometimes stupid volunteer). Again, thank you James and Martine! I hope we meet again :)

We started having an hour conversation on topics of travel, education, philosophy, culture, and we would have continued the conversation. Kat helped around the home for the days she volunteered. She left but still worked on an online project I asked her to do. She is dedicated to her volunteer position. The only problem was time, as we could have spoken about endless topics. Buena suerte.

Koto was a wonderful volunteer. I asked her to make murals and she did them throughout the house. She helped clean the house. She was a positive energy in the house. I would recommend Koto for future projects of volunteering. Thank you again Koto, the murals will provide a positive energy for future guests.
