Nous avons passé un super moment avec Lili et Wolfgang. Leur finca est magnifique, avec vue sur les montagnes ! Pendant notre séjour, nous les avons aidé à préparer des bacs pour planter les plantes, désherber, nettoyer un système de filtration d’eau… Nous avons également appris beaucoup de choses en permaculture et sur leur système de récupérer d’eau, c’était super interessant ! Merci à Lili pour les bons repas préparés les midi, c’était un plaisir de les aider :)

Our experience with emeric in the Amazon was really cool! We did many night walks trying to find any kind of animal/insects and plants, and as He has lot of knowledge to share about the Amazon, makes you feel confortable and safe in such a wild environment as the jungle!!

I just wrapped up my first Workaway experience, and I couldn't have picked a better host than Taoufiq! He’s super nice and kind, and he showed me around the beautiful city of Casablanca. Every Moroccan I’ve met has been lovely, which makes my stay even better. I'm really glad I chose to come here for my first Workaway adventure. I've spent 2 weeks in this amazing place and I'm genuinely enjoying every moment! Highly recommend! 🌍✨

I didn’t have enough time to interact with Emma, but during our brief conversation, I could tell she is friendly, easy-going, and doesn’t engage in debates. She completed the project assigned to her on time and to a high standard of quality. She left a good impression, and we will welcome her if she ever decides to come back.

Mon séjour chez Charles et Myriam était très agréable. J'ai récolté différentes choses dans le jardin, préparé le bois pour l'année prochaine et fait beaucoup de randonnées dans la nature avec des vue fantastique pendant mon temps libre. Pour la première fois de ma vie, j'ai cherché et trouvé des champignons comestibles dans la nature, ce qui m'a beaucoup enthousiasmé. On a aussi trouvé un cèpe de près d'1 kg. Le soir, j'ai parfois joué à un jeu avec Charles, c'était très amusant. Myriam et Charles sont des personnes très gentilles et communicatives. Je me suis senti comme chez moi. Les repas étaient toujours délicieux. J'ai également passé une semaine à la Caban de Orny (la cabane est gérée par des voisins de Charles et Myriam). C'était très agréable dans la cabane, la nourriture y est trés bonne. Les gérants de la cabane sont très gentils. Je recommande vivement le chalet de Charles et Myriam aux personnes qui s'intéressent au jardinage et qui souhaitent passer du temps loin de la civilisation. Merci a vous.

​My six-week stay with Paula, Ben, Simona, and Chori in Barcelona this summer was truly unforgettable. They welcomed me with open arms, and in Chori's case, with enthusiastic jumps! ​During the week, my mornings started by walking Chori through the streets, the dog park, or the mountain nearby. After a quick shower, Simona and I spent several hours playing, practicing her walk, and generally making sure she was occupied and happy. She is such a brilliant little girl! I loved getting to know her and building trust. ​In the span of six weeks, I saw her go from standing up against a chair to walking a few steps all on her own. I was so honored to have been a part of that development. On my last day, she walked towards me, on her own! It was the best goodbye gift, and yes, that made me a little emotional. ​I had enough free time in the afternoon and weekends to go to Spanish class and explore the city. We also took some enjoyable trips together to the beach and a lovely old town. ​Paula and Ben are very kind, helpful, and encouraging people. We had many interesting conversations and learned a lot from them. I had a great time in their home, delicious food and a nice private room. I would 100% recommend them as hosts!

English: I stayed in Punta Hermosa for two weeks. Carmen is such a lovely woman! She is very kind, helpful and a good cook! She introduced me to the peruvian cuisine and showed me around the town. I needed to go to a hairdresser and she made it happen, so nice. I met many familymembers and practised a lot of spanish. My spanish is very basic but we made it work. Lastly for the dogs, so cute! They love to play and be petted. Every morning they greeted me with enthousiasm, which was adorable. The work is very easy; clean after the dogs, walk the dogs and feed the dogs and cats. So there was a lot of free time. Also the bed was incredibly comfortable! I'm so glad i got to know Carmen, José and their family, pets and culture. Español: Me quedé en Punta Hermosa por dos semanas. ¡Carmen es una mujer tan encantadora! ¡Es muy amable, servicial y buena cocinera! Ella me presentó la cocina peruana y me mostró la ciudad. Necesitaba ir a una peluquera y ella lo hizo posible, muy agradable. Conocí a muchos familiares y practiqué mucho español. Mi español es muy básico pero lo hicimos funcionar. Por último para los perros, ¡qué lindos! Les encanta jugar y que los acaricien. Todas las mañanas me saludaban con entusiasmo, lo cual era adorable. El trabajo es muy fácil; limpiar los desechos de los perros, pasear a los perros y alimentar a los perros y gatos. Tuve tiempo libre para disfrutar más. Además, la cama era increíblemente cómoda. Me alegro mucho de haber conocido a Carmen, José y su familia, mascotas y su cultura.

Mickey is amazing! This lovely couple visited us and shared their energy, knowledge, and sense of humor. It was a great experience for us to have the support of two wonderful and highly experienced teachers from London—just imagine how cool that is! We stayed with Marie, Blanche, and Sviat for the month of October. This Workaway experience was perfect for how we wanted to spend our time in this area. The work was intense, with a focus of manual labor in the vineyard, but it was well worth it given the bus station was a few minutes away. If you are looking for a Workaway with a focus in cultural exchange, this may not be the best fit, as the time spent with the host is limited. However, the proximity to public transport made it the perfect hub for travel. The work we did was demanding but rewarding. We collected and cut fire wood for the family’s winter, prepared the vineyard for the up coming season by spreading grain on the terraces, cleared unwanted vegetation, cleaned an overgrown natural water reservoir, and helped with general maintenance tasks around the land. We were provided all the groceries we needed and had two shared meals with the family during our stay. Marie made sure to always ask us if there was anything we needed, which was very nice! There is a bus station that provided us the main transportation to explore the area. We were able to see many different parts of the French Rivera through the public transportation. We left feeling like we had explored everything in the area we wanted to explore! We would definitely recommend this Workaway for anyone who is a hard worker looking for adventure! Marie, Blanche, and Sviat are wonderful people and we are glad we got to stay with them for as long as we did. Thank you so much!!

It was amazing hosting Guillermo for three weeks — or as we proudly renamed him, Gaurav, the newest warrior. This man didn’t even arrive properly; he jumped straight out of the vehicle and straight into work, as if he had been living here since bagwal is being celebrated here. I practiced Spanish with him, and he bravely attempted Hindi with me — I’m still not sure who suffered more, but we survived beautifully. Even though most of the chores here were totally new for him, he showed full josh in everything: woodwork, fetching water like a mountain goat, cooking, cleaning, and even building a clay oven without burning down the village. Respect! As a philosophy student turned teacher, his conversations about life were deeply enriching. His understanding and depth were genuinely mind-blowing — sometimes I felt like I was talking to a young Socrates, just with better hair. Merit is a lovely woman with a lots of sensibility towards the animals and towards nature. She was a great help with the donkeys Bonito y Bambina and they loved her. We went together for walks with them and with Lana, my foster dog. Merit has quiet some experiences with donkeys and horses. The donkeys had some open wounds from scratching the flies away and Merit helped me a lot to clean these and take care of them. So now they are healed!!! Merit also helped me in the garden. Of course also we got along well, she even taught me a song on my guitar. („Spanish romance“ the song is called - which I practice now) I wish Merit will come again - may be next year.

Pascal made me feel like part of his family from the moment I arrived, a house full of positive energy and light, I felt very comfortable during the days I was there

It has been a real pleasure hosting Dori and Lala. They are easy to communicate with, and they performed all jobs very well. The animals were very loved and spoilt by their attention and care. They made delicious apple crumbles, made loads of dehydrated apple chips, helped with weeding, wood-chipping and other garden jobs, and they also did a lot of cleaning and tidying and organising of cupboards. All this amazing work was done with happy smiles and laughter. They are mature and brave young women, and I admire them for leaving the safe bubble of their local community to see the wider world and meet different world views. We had many deep and enjoyable conversations during the 5 weeks they were here. They are completely trustworthy. I was away for 2 weeks while they were here and they very confidently kept everything going, despite some issues from another workawayer who was here at the time. I was very glad they were around while I was away. I felt I could trust them with my home and my animals. Their energy and laughter are greatly missed here. I look forward to hosting them again. In the meantime, I wish them the best of luck on their gap yeqr adventure.

Raphaël was a volunteer with us for three weeks. We really enjoyed having him here. His sense of humour and his re-telling of his adventures entertained us all and our guests. He helped out willingly and enthusiastically and also cooked us some delicious food that we thoroughly enjoyed. We hope to see him again next year and wish him all the best in his travels. I stayed with Sofia and her family in their beautiful home in Noisy-Le-Grand for two weeks. My accommodation was comfortable and private, and I always felt welcome. They are very easy-going and always respected the agreed volunteering schedule. Eleanor is a bright, curious, and energetic child. She loves exploring the world through nature, painting, baking, storytelling — anything that sparks creativity and imagination. Sofia helped me improve my cooking skills, especially with risotto, and we also enjoyed a lovely pizza night that we all prepared together. I’ll keep very fond memories of my stay. Thank you, Sofia, Miguel, and Eleanor! 🙏

My two friends, Lorenzo and Marco, and I stayed at the wonderful Coralie's quinta for a month. What can I tell you about the experience itself and about her? It's definitely a unique experience, one that will allow you to discover so much about the hidden and fascinating valley she's trying to preserve to keep its history alive, which is why she needs a helping hand! You'll find any type of work you need with her. As a host, I can tell you that she's a rare person with a heart of gold and will do her utmost to ensure you have everything you need. You'll have the opportunity to share a lot with her, grow, gain experience, and see beautiful places and events in Madeira, even with her help! (and with the ever present presence of chief Mpenzie, her adorable dog! :) In a month, we worked, discovered, and shared a whole world, thanks in part to her. All that's left to do is discover for yourself what awaits you.

I stayed with Hilary for a month and also did some house, dog and chicken sitting. The whole experience was excellent and I would happily return. Hilary is a fantastic host and and wonderful cook, and she genuinely goes out of her way to make all her guests feel welcome and comfortable. The guest accommodation is spacious, private, comfortable and very convenient, which made day-to-day life super easy. She has two beautiful dogs which are a joy to walk and look after, and the work is varied and always communicated clearly. There is a great balance between privacy and social interaction.

Very very grateful that the curvature of the journey led me to this place and people (and 🐶 Oli). Highlighting the quietness of the little village, little waterfalls, chestnut trees, fresh air and long walks with Oli... And then back at Mariano's little cozy home where we cooked, drawed, shared stories and opened our hearts. Also doing little gardening and helping with the renovations of the other house. Sightseeing the closest towns near the sea and just enjoying the present moment. My one weeks stay really went very fast and enjoyable. Thank you from the center of my heart!!🌱💚

The days I spent with Nelly and Steef were truly wonderful. They are truly kind, compassionate, and full of love. I mainly painted the walls. Nelly carefully taught me how to do it since it was my first time painting, and I enjoyed my work every day! On the weekend, we went to the market, bought fresh ingredients and crepes, and learn about Brittany's food culture. In the evenings, we spent time talking about each other's cultures and politics and our lives up until now. Hearing from these experienced individuals will greatly influence the rest of my life. At the same time, it also gave me an opportunity to reflect on my own past. And what was indispensable to our conversations were sweets and Steef's piano. Steef is a wonderful pianist, and I really love the music he plays. It was very romantic! I also loved drinking wine and talking while roasting chestnuts by the fireplace. There are so many wonderful memories from this short stay that I can't possibly write them all down. I will never forget these memories for the rest of my life. Someday, I definitely will go back to them. You will surely gain wonderful experiences, friends, and memories. Haruka

Dani estuvo conmigo solo una semana, me hubiera gustado que se quedara más tiempo. Es una muy buena cocinera vegana (top). Es fuerte e inteligente, los trabajos que hicimos los hizo muy bien.. Es buena en la coordinación con otros trabajadores, y fue capaz de mantener un ojo general sobre lo que era necesario en todo momento. Ella si se siente bien es habladora y cálida y ama a los animales, lo que siempre es una ventaja para nosotros aqui. Ella es sensible, así que ten cuidado con tus malos estados de ánimo porque ella los sentirá todos! Vuelve pronto Dani, un abbraccio grande
