I had the true privilege of welcoming Azadeh and Shahriar to our ranch. What a gift they are: two extraordinary souls who radiate joy, respect, and kindness, with hearts that are genuinely in the right place. 🌻 They jumped in with love and energy, helping me move hay for the horses, cleaning and transporting manure to enrich the land, preparing the fields so oats can be sown for the horses’ winter greens, and moving stones at the fences. They worked tirelessly, never once shying away from a task, whether it was pulling weeds, pruning trees, or simply lending a hand wherever it was needed. Every action they took carried a sense of care, contribution, and excellence. Together, we shared moments of fun and culture, they got a chance to see the vibrant festivities of Moros y Cristianos in Jijona, the beauty of the beach, a trip to Castella, the serenity of the mountains, and the heart of Jijona’s old town and of course, we went to a typical Spanish restaurant too. They embraced every experience with openness and gratitude, making those moments even more special. After a dreadful experience earlier this year, Azadeh and Shahriar restored my faith in the youth of today. They reminded me that there are still people in this world who show up with pure hearts, ready to receive and to give, to grow, and to share. For that, I am deeply grateful. Azadeh and Shahriar, you will always have a home here. I look forward to the day our paths cross again. Until then, keep shining, keep contributing, and never change the beautiful hearts that make you who you are.💖

Our time with Marie was not just an experience-it was truly coming home. From the very first moment, we felt embraced with love, care, and kindness. The rooms were spotless, the linens fresh, the air pure, and the view from the top-simply heaven on earth. Everything was cared for with the highest quality, always hygienic, always nature-friendly, and infused with Marie’s beautiful spirit. Marie is not only a wonderful host -she is a motherly soul, a guide, and a friend. She listened to us with the heart of a parent, cared for us beyond expectations, and treated us as part of her family. Every meal we shared together, every idea we exchanged, and every task we worked on as a team felt natural, joyful, and deeply connecting. She is flexible, kind, spiritual, and endlessly supportive. The two dogs, Jingles and Pinto, were pure joy to be around. Jingles, the smartest and cutest soul, and Pinto, so intelligent and friendly -we are already missing them dearly. They added so much love and laughter to our days. We also want to honor Robert, a 72-year-old gentle soul who visited every day to feed the dogs with sausages. His humility, kindness, and spiritual presence touched us deeply. Meeting him was like meeting a saintly friend - he connected with our hearts in a way we will never forget. This journey gave us not just memories, but bonds that will remain with us forever -with Marie, with Jingles and Pinto, and with Robert. We carry their love in our hearts and are already looking forward to meeting them again, sharing meals, working together, and celebrating the beauty of life.

Annika is an amazing young woman: independent, interesting, helpful and she has a good sense of humour. I was very happy to meet her. As I was very busy organising and running an artists' symposium, I couldn't give her as much attention as I would have liked. But thanks to her skills, she was able to complete many tasks entirely on her own. It would be lovely to meet her again.

We immediately felt at ease with Gäby and Venise! In the three weeks we were there we did a lot of outdoor jobs and building on the bus. We had great conversations and a lot of laughs. Gäby and Venise made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Back at home we still often think about those weeks, the amazing views and the cold swims in the fjord every morning. What a wonderful place with wonderful hosts!

Since Nico arrived, we have had a wonderful time. He is kind, easy to communicate with, and a very pleasant person to be around. He was always willing to help with different tasks, eager to learn about planting, and knows how to work with construction tools and equipment. During his stay, he supported us in a variety of jobs around the property, such as installing trims in our roof, helping us finish a fence, preparing beds for our vegetable garden, planting new crops, and doing general maintenance. We highly recommend Nico to any future hosts — he is hardworking, reliable, and great company. We wish him all the best for the rest of his trip and studies!

Our stay at the Pousada was a nice discovery, with its beautiful garden, breathtaking view on the ocean and colorful art all around it is a little corner of paradise. Work schedule was flexible and we could always have plenty of time to drink a nice coffee in between duties. The whole staff is kind, always with a smile :) Setiba area is quiet and well preserved, luscious nature is still intact over there. if you’re lucky you can see funny monkeys and Iguanas around! There is a cute bistro at around 5 minutes walking from the Pousada, they play live music and serve yummy cocktails :) To move around, Uber is always available and at a fair price. Pasé dos semanas en casa de Marc y Roser. Estaba un poco nerviosa porque era mi primer viaje sola y soy bastante tímida, pero enseguida me hicieron sentir muy cómoda. Roser es muy simpática y me encantó hablar con ella, sobre todo de su «deconstrucción como mujer». Ella estaba trabajando, así que hablé más con Marc. Me encantaron nuestras conversaciones y su forma de ver la vida, ¡fue realmente genial! El lugar es muy bonito y todo el mundo es muy simpático. Lo pasé muy bien allí, los paseos por las montañas y colinas son preciosos, las vistas son magníficas. Fue una experiencia increíble. Muchas gracias, espero volver pronto. <3

They were here for two weeks. But from day one, it felt like family. The dynamic was very organic and smooth. They blended in perfectly, without any problems. And what a joy to work with them. And what powerful people. We miss them already. Wonderfully heartwarming and open. Highly highly recommended :) Hope to see you soon again and wish you all the best!! <3

Piotr spent with us two weeks helping my partner with heavier tasks like collecting wood, clearing area by cutting wild bushes, hammering in poles for setting the fence, etc. He is very outgoing, likes company of people and animals, he sings and plays guitar. Even though he is carnivore he survived on vegetarian food and seemed to like it 😉. I can recommand Piotr for autonomus tasks as well a team worker. Thank you for your help and company. 😀

Mr. Sean is a truly animal-loving, caring, and compassionate person. During his short stay with us, he displayed great maturity, kindness, and respect in every interaction. Although his time was unexpectedly cut short due to visa issues, he made the most of it by building a meaningful connection with us and showing genuine concern for our community animals. We are especially grateful for his generous donation, which went directly towards purchasing food for the animals. His contribution made a real difference and reflected his sincere commitment to animal welfare. We wholeheartedly wish Mr. Sean the very best in all that he does. We truly hope to welcome him back in the near future so he can once again collaborate with us and continue supporting our community animals. He was a wonderful volunteer, and we are thankful for his kindness and generosity.

Dear Fiamma and Sustika! Reading your words filled our hearts with joy and gratitude. Having you with us was not only a blessing for the organization but also for the entire community. The love, respect, and sensitivity you showed in every step of your journey here made a real difference. Your impact on the preschool children and teachers was beautiful because your patience, creativity, and warmth gave them moments of joy in learning. With the women’s group, you brought not only support and encouragement, but also genuine friendship, sharing your skills while listening with such kindness and openness, that allowed for safe space! What truly touched us most, however, was the way you embraced the local culture and daily life. You allowed the community to welcome you wholeheartedly, and you quickly became part of the family. That mutual exchange of love and trust is what makes experiences like these so meaningful. Even though we are still young in some ways, people like you give us strength and inspiration to keep moving forward by building our safe space for creating a world a kinder one. Izzie & Julia spent with us two weeks and I count them among my best helpers ever. They are very communicative, responsible, proactive and reliable in performing autonomusly all given tasks. Their help varied from cleaning windows, weeding, mulching strawberry beds, collecting herbs and flowers for drying, helping with cooking and making preserves, preparing fruits for vinegar, picking mashrooms etc. We also had interesting conversations and fun time at the table. They loved playing with our cats and dogs. I can truly recommand them both to any host. Thank you girls 🙏😀

From the very first moment, your energy and smile lit up the house and the community. It’s hard to believe this was your very first Workaway, because you fit in so naturally and gave so much of yourself. The children, the women, and everyone you met could feel your warmth, kindness, and openness. Your willingness to embrace daily life here, with all its joys and little challenges, showed a maturity beyond your years. We all miss you dearly and your presence left a big space in our family, but we’re also so grateful for the memories and impact you left behind. Thank you for sharing your heart with us, for your sensitivity and humor, and for reminding us how beautiful it is when someone arrives as a volunteer and leaves as family. Karibu tena, Linnea! We stayed at this place for two weeks, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The people working there are very welcoming and warm-hearted. We quickly felt like part of the team and truly enjoyed the daily life, which included great conversations, playful banter, physical work, playing games, and not least many wonderful shared meals. As for projects, we picked pears, did forestry work, cleaned yurts, worked in the garden, and helped with other everyday tasks. We brought our own campervan, which worked out really well, and there were all the facilities one could wish for – electricity, showers, laundry, and more. We will truly miss the place and all the amazing people we got to know! We highly recommend others to come to this place! ⭐️

My time at this place showed me a life full of joy. The resident welcomed me with open arms and big smiles from the first day. Although it was hard to communicate due to the language barrier, I felt welcomed at all times. I am beyong grateful for this opportunity and for each and every one of the community memebers for welcoming me into their space and daily life. That being said, I believe this experience could be even more wonderful and meaningful for someone who speaks German or is trying to improve their German as there is alot to learn from each of the community members and their professions . The nature around is beautiful and walking in the black forest in a natural part of daily life here. The food was delicious and there is alot to learn from the different residence and their cooking expertise. The work varied from cleaning, cooking, dishes, gardening and genera maintenance of the land. Meditation, yoga and mantra singing is ingrained in their lifestyle. If your looking for a place to be reminded of the beauty and joy in life, both through nature, and people, this is it. Thank you. You will be remembered.

I had an really nice stay at Marios and Izaskuns farm. I didn't have communication problems with them because they were able to speak German and English. The food was delicious and everybody was friendly. I did a lot of painting which was quite interesting.

Nick and Mike’s farm is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in British culture. During my time there, I had the chance to take on a wide variety of tasks – from harvesting, watering, and planting vegetables in the greenhouse, to loading hay bales, digging up potatoes, building a raised bed at a local school, and weeding. Nick can be a little gruff in the mornings, but he lightens up as the day goes on. He is highly intelligent, not only in farming matters but in general, and he enjoys sharing his knowledge generously. Several other volunteers also work on the farm throughout the week, which makes the experience lively and never dull. The lifestyle is rustic and the kitchen can be a bit messy at times, but that’s part of the charm. Overall, it’s a very rewarding and enriching experience that I would definitely recommend.

I stayed with Camille for two weeks (that turned into three because I just couldn’t leave!) in May and it was a truly magical stay. I didn’t expect that my first Workaway experience would leave such a mark deep in my heart but I really enjoyed meeting the family and friends and see the beautiful surroundings of NY. I could work independently with different tasks around the garden - preparing for a new summer season, building low fences with sticks, organising in the garage, digging up weeds etc. It was also very nice to visit friends and family around and go watch the kids play soccer (eh, SO talented?!), not to mention all the cuddles from the cute animals! I loved our deep conversations, experimenting with sourdough and watching my favourite guilty pleasure tv-shows together! There is so much I have taken with me from this stay. Many wise words and realisations, so much inspiration for using everything around us in nature - preserving, drying, making jams out of both flowers and weeds, living this harmonious life on the countryside. I am very grateful for having met Camille and the fam, and there is no doubt about that our paths will meet again and again and again <3

We had a good time in Caroline's place. We had the chance to feel at home in Vietnam, we bonded with people from the village and we used our time doing several activities: from teaching to playing with kids or painting and building bamboo furnitures! I liked that we felt kind of autonomous and at the same time we collaborated a lot with other voulunteers to keep going with the schedule. We had time to explore the beautiful area around and also to carry on personal activities. We think Caroline's project is ambitious and positive for the village. Thank you very much also to all the beautiful people we met, it was a great team ♡.

It's hard to summarize what an amazing experience this place is.. I spent ~2 months here over the summer mostly doing housekeeping. The work is super fair given all you're getting in exchange (3 delicious, professionally prepared vegetarian meals, a comfy bed in a wonderful community, and proximity to some beautiful/quiet swimming spots). I quickly felt like it was my home too and I wanted to take care of it so the work was enjoyable for me/a nice practice of reciprocity. I'm also at the start of my journey as a yoga teacher and Ema was so incredibly encouraging of this so I got to teach morning classes here which was really special for me! The community is so open and caring, the owners/management are lovely people and I really found myself evolving positively as a person from sharing space with them. The type of guests/volunteers this place attracts are all so interesting so you'll definitely meet some cool individuals and (personally) some lifelong friends :-) Couldn't recommend this place more, I've done ~10 work exchanges in the past few years and this was by far one of my favorites. Eternal gratitude to this place and the crew, will definitely return someday!
