On a moment that I was so overwhelmed by all the work that I couldn’t think straight anymore, Adriana and Nil came as lifesavers. Even though they only stayed a week, they left me feeling so much lighter for all the tasks they had taken out of my hands. Having them in the house felt natural, we had nice chats, doggywalks and movienights. Both of them are easy-going and independent, and up for basically anything you’ll ask. Nil is eager to truely understand how everything works and picks up very easily on new tasks. I trusted him completely with my machines, which he clearly enjoyed working with :-) Adriana is very good in social media managing, which she helped me a great deal in, I really hope she can make this her way to make money whilst traveling. Thanks for all, I’m very happy to read you felt at home, and wish you guys all the best travels!

I've had a lovely time with Alan and Sarah. I've had some workaway experiences before this but I have never had this much luxury before, with a whole casita for myself and a lot of time to rest. The food was delicious and I m gonna miss all the animals and the peace and quiet. It was my first time working with donkeys and I m very thankful to have learned how to take care of them. Even though it was a very short stay I m very thankful for everything they've done for me!

Nicole é inteligente e muito prática.Ela nos ajudou muito na agrofloresta onde tem grande interesse.Mas mesmo em trabalhos mais entediantes ela executou com alegria. Ela fala vários idiomas o que permitiu uma comunicação muito fácil e além disso tem uma conversa boa e divertida.Adoramos ter a Nicole conosco e ficaremos felizes em receber lá novamente.

I spent 10 wonderful days with this lovely family. I had a fantastic time and felt welcomed from the very beginning. The location is simply breathtaking, surrounded by nature and far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. My tasks included feeding the chickens (I loved them) and ducks and performing various gardening duties such as mowing the lawn and planting flowers. The volunteer's house is really nice, two rooms and a fully equipped kitchen that allowed me to prepare my own meals - using the herbs from the garden. I learned a lot about Malaysian plants that I didn't know thanks to Ella and Ka Munirah’ s fantastic explanations. I felt right at home :) and I truly hope to return one day! Thank you so much and a big hug to everyone! ❤️

It was such a pleasure to host Niels at our women's centre! He came prepared and ready to get immediately into the work as his time here was around 10 days and he wanted to make the most of it, it was such a blessing to us. His flexibility, excellent character and good humour brought a lot of joy to our team and to the women in our programs! Niels has a generous heart, and a sincerity to serve and help where needed. Such an easy guy to have around, we greatly miss him already and hope that one day he will come back! We couldn't recommend him enough.

Staying at Jasmina’s was a wonderful experience that I would definitely recommend. The property is beautiful and serene and the room was very nice and comfortable. I helped feed the animals twice a day, helped around the house, and with a number of other projects. I really enjoyed how every day had something new whether it was mushroom hunting, weeding, or making a pool in the creek. The days are structured around feeding the animals and then helping out with whatever needs attending to depending on the weather. Jasmina’s cooking is amazing as well as Nichola’s humor. I stayed with one other Workawayer which I appreciated as the area is quite remote. But it was very cool to get a taste for small village life and meet some of the neighbors. We often worked alongside Jasmina who is such a positive person and hard worker she made even the heaviest wheelbarrows and buckets feel lighter. She has lots of knowledge to share and I am excited to take some cooking tips into my own life. All the best to you and Nichola! I look forward to lots of photos and videos when Bianca has puppies :)

Staying with Petra was a deeply enriching experience. I came to help around the time of a foal’s birth, mainly assisting with camera monitoring, being present on-site, and lending a hand in the stable. From the very beginning, Petra welcomed me with warmth and kindness, taking the time to introduce me thoroughly to everything and making me feel right at home. I had my own beautiful room with a private bathroom and even a workspace – a perfect balance of comfort and privacy. Petra was always incredibly thoughtful and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed and was feeling well throughout my stay. Communication with Petra was always pleasantly open, clear, and respectful. She encouraged questions and valued my input, and we shared many interesting and meaningful conversations. One of the highlights was celebrating Easter with her family and friends – I felt truly included and part of the community. I’m especially grateful for the chance to experience Swedish traditions like Easter, the “Konstrunda” art tour, and Walpurgis. Petra generously shared her culture and way of life, while also giving me plenty of freedom to explore the area – from beach walks to hikes and city trips. The horses were another highlight – beautifully cared for and clearly loved. “Hästarna först” 😍 is more than just a saying; it’s a way of life, and it was an honor to be part of it. Although the foal was born a few days after I left, I had a wonderful time. I spoke and learned a lot of Swedish (thank you for your patience!), and I’m leaving with warm memories. A special thank you to Paul, also to Petra’s mom and to Åsa – it was a joy to meet you. Tack så mycket, Petra. I highly recommend this Workaway experience.

Even though we spent only about a week at Rosa's place, we cannot be more grateful for the experience. We had a great time and felt at home from the first minute. Rosa has an amazing property and we loved contributing to it. She's an amazing person and cooks the greatest noodles! Thank you for everything!!

Sabine is such a kind, warm woman, curious about people. She showed me around so many amazing places around the coast, introduced me to some typical Spanish dishes too! Overall I had an amazing time staying there.

Katie came to help with meals and house care duties while I am busy on a work project and she was superb in everything she undertook. Meals were beautiful in presentation and taste. Mostly we were just two but when we had friends round her ability from her time as a chef shone through and the results were amazing. Katie would always manage the fridges so we never had any waste, she would also cook enough so we had some to freeze for use after she was gone. Her thoughtfulness in her duties saves us time and money every day even after she has gone. Whilst here she spent time making adjustments to the workaway accommodation and making it more homely and adding some beautiful touches and styling with things we had around the home. I cannot recommend Katie enough she is kind, thoughtful, hardworking and fun to have around

What a lovely experience I had with Pili and José. They are very kind, open-minded couple with beautiful values living in a tiny village overlooking mountains. It was perfect to experience living in a small community, surrounded by nature. I'd definitely recommend visiting them :)

our stay in pucón was excellent. not just because it's a beautiful and busy city that has a lot to offer, but also thanks to the valuable experience as the first time volunteering in a hostel. it was so worthwhile! we got to truly live the business and learn about how to run it, what we enjoyed very much. working at the reception managing guests needs and check-ins/check-outs, was pleasant and made it possible to interact with guests from all over the world. we also helped preparing takeaway breakfasts, doing laundry, general maintenance and keeping the common areas tidy. it couldn't have been better and we couldn't have asked for better hosts. Esperanza and Sebastian are absolutely great people, always kind and supportive. they organised our shifts so we could have free time together and also even considering the weather. it was clear their concern about our wellbeing, making sure that we we'd have a good time. besides starting the everyday with the best breakfast overlooking a stunning volcano, we went to the beach many times, did beautiful hikes, had lovely strolls in the city and also relaxed at the hostel. they've created such a cozy place with this familiar atmosphere, everyone was friendly and happily sharing the space that felt like home to all. we left after 3 weeks already considering coming back, really grateful for the amazing time we had. thank you very much Espe and Sebastian for being so welcoming, for the opportunity, for everything we've learned and for your trust!

Per motivi di lavoro non ho potuto passare con Vittorio il tempo che avrei voluto, ma ne è valsa la pena! Vittorio è una persona veramente gentile ed accogliente, disponibile a spiegare metodi di coltivazione. Mi sono sentita subito a mio agio ed ho gustato i suoi piatti creati con le erbe dell'orto. E' stato bello stare in sua compagnia e la sua grande casa immersa nel bosco è quello che ci vuole per lasciare il brulicante mondo fuori, ascoltando il cinguettio degli uccellini e rinfrancare il cuore e la vista grazie al bellissimo verde da cui è circondato. Abbiamo eseguito diversi lavori fuori, come la costruzione di un'aiuola per i fiori, la messa a dimora di alcuni ortaggi in terra ed altri lavoretti inerenti all'orto ed alla cura e pulizia di un prato attorno casa. Spero di essere stata utile al suo progetto e gli auguro il meglio! Grazie, Simona

Anhaid stayed with us for three weeks, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better volunteer. She created the beautiful new design for our website, bringing both creativity and clarity to the process. Her work was not only professional and thoughtful, but also deeply aligned with the spirit of our place. Beyond her skills, Anhaid is a wonderful person to live with — kind, calm, independent, and respectful. She brought a peaceful and joyful energy to our home, and we genuinely enjoyed her presence. We would have loved to keep her longer! She will always be welcome here.

Sybille’s place was all i needed in this precise moment of my life! I felt at home, really. The simplicity of the accommodation, the “work in progress” vibe, the general flexibility of the exchange…and again: her strong and independent personality. Everything resonated a lot with my need of balance between warm human contacts and personal moments of freedom/introversion. I loved the tasks…the little challenges of her garden. And overall i’m very proud of the result of my work, even though i was superslow at times (due mostly to my lack of experience and my tendency of overthinking about details). It was a huge chance for me to improve in a lot of different ways. The place, Lajares, is incredibly lively and relaxed…and also it’s just half an hour away by car from one of the best beaches i ever “lived” (La Escalera). What to say? Thanks a lot to this little giant named Sybille, one of the most energetic person i ever met! And to her son Raiko, a very sensitive and lovely guy! Hope to come back sooner or later! :)

Staying with Claudia in Sounine was a great experience. I felt lucky to arrive in such a beautiful space, in a stunning and peaceful location with amazing views of the Tunisian Mediterranean. I initially helped with some light tasks like removing sheets and vacuuming the bungalow, but soon shifted to redesigning her website to something that reflected more the idea of the project, which is a place where creatives could go and have a calm place to relax and work. Working on this project would be a more helpful contribution and was a priority for her at the time. Claudia and Khalil are truly kind, friendly and creative people, as well as generous hosts. They welcomed me into their beautiful home and treated me to many delicious meals. I also happened to arrive at the end of Ramadan, which gave me the chance to learn more about local customs and try some traditional dishes. They even brought me along on a short trip to Tunis, and kindly helped me get my phone camera fixed after it broke — something I was really grateful for. I was also invited to spend time with their friends and family during visits. Everyone I met during my stay (including Salah and Nadia, who help keep the place clean and organized) was incredibly kind and welcoming. My room had a spectacular view of the sea and the sunrise, and I absolutely loved the garden, where we picked fresh spinach and arugula. I also had the pleasure of taking Hiena, their beautiful and sweet dog, for walks to the beach. I only stayed for two weeks and wish I’d had more time to work in the garden or paint a mural, because this is certainly a place that sparks creativity — but I completely understood Claudia’s priorities and felt happy to contribute where I could. I had a wonderful time and truly hope to come back one day. I’d absolutely recommend visiting! Thank you for everything, Claudia!

I had a lovely experience at Catherine’s rural place. The yard is beautiful and the upkeep and assigned tasks were straightforward. Catherine was very generous and was quick to show her appreciation for hard work with a nice meal to keep you going. I also had the pleasure to watch and hear her play at a trad session at the local pub. If you play an instrument, bring it with you.

It was great to meet Clari and have her staying with us for a few weeks. She's a really lovely person, and very hardworking, super easy to get along with and genuinely interested in everything thats going on. We really appreciated all the work she did here, often times working alone with self-motivation as we we're struck down with an awful flu.... in that respect, she was fantastic, just able to get on, with minimal instruction and using a lot of initiative and care in her tasks. We look forward to welcoming her back again in the future! Clari was such a great help to us!

A month we’ll never forget! We spent a truly special time on Jackie & Julias permaculture homestead - we took care for animals and learn how to make the soil fertile again. We built new garden beds, worked with the land, and gained deep insight into the lifestyle of nature-loving expats. During our time with them, they became like big sisters to us. They taught us so much – from the relationships between plants, to the essentials of making a place truly livable and sustainable. Their knowledge, kindness and patience inspired us every day. And ofc our game night was great fun! And let’s not forget the food – staying with them is worth it for the meals alone! A true paradise for vegetarians (and for anyone who loves fresh, creative, soul-nourishing dishes). We already miss them – and of course, the animals too. Thank you for everything, Jackie and Julia!

Looking back on the days when Stefanie was here, a smile comes naturally to my face. Steff is pleasant company. Besides, she is a hard worker; she knows her way around in house and garden! Keywords are: Friendly, caring, helpful, clean, handy and she has the talent to surprise you. That's why it is a pity she stayed shorter than actually intended. But, however briefly, I look back with satisfaction on an enjoyable time, during which a lot was nevertheless done. Thank you Steff!
