Thank you so much for this lovely review. I’m really glad your three weeks here felt meaningful and peaceful — our little village is quiet, but it has a way of slowing people down in a good way. You both brought great energy to the workshop, and I’m happy you enjoyed the welding, the projects, and the community here. Zaki will be very happy to hear your compliments, and Afik will smile for the whole day — he’s really growing into his role. I know you’ll be just as amazing with your next hosts too. Any Workaway place would be lucky to have you. You’re always welcome back in Wawasan. Safe travels and all the best on your journey!

My time at the ashram was a very special and meaningful experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, grounded, and supported. I had the chance to meet many incredible, like-minded people, and the conversations I shared with the community were truly transformative. The daily routine — yoga classes, satsangs, meditation, and healthy meals — creates a balanced structure that naturally helps you become healthier and more grounded. Following this schedule helped me feel more connected to myself. I’m deeply grateful for my time with the media team. They were understanding, welcoming, supportive, and made it all easy for me to contribute. Overall, this experience touched me in ways I didn’t expect, and I am truly grateful, especially to the media team, for receiving me so warmly and for everything I learned during my time with them.

Thank you so much for this lovely message. It really means a lot. You blended into our little community so naturally, and after surviving that jellyfish sting, you’re officially pirate status forever! I’m glad you enjoyed the food, the weddings, the fishing trips — and I know you’ll be just as amazing with your next hosts. They’ll be lucky to have your energy and kindness. You’ll always have a home here in Batu Pahat. Come back anytime.

I stayed with the family for two months and felt welcomed and included as soon as arrived. Fabrice and Amadine are very generous and friendly people that teached me a lot about life on-board and hearing about their life stories it was very inspiring for me. Their 3 children are very sweet and kind kids, interested about the world, easy going, intelligent and funny! I'm very grateful for this first experience on a boat, I felt part of the family and hope to be back again. Thank you to you all for your kindness, wonderful dinners full of laughs, lessons about sailing and life on-board.

I had a very good time with Yvonne. The house, the garden, and the surroundings are all beautiful. Yvonne was very flexible with the working hours and tasks, which made the experience very enjoyable. It was also very nice and interesting to get a glimpse of life in rural Portugal. Great experience!

I stayed here for four wonderful weeks and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hostel is beautiful, with a rly beautiful garden, pool and a cozy bar where you can really feel the local vibe. The owner and Hana are incredibly kind, relaxed and very easy to work with — always flexible and always there if you need anything. They also provide some food, like eggs, vegetables and other essentials. The work itself was simple and enjoyable, and I also got the chance to meet a lot of locals who regularly hang out at the hostel. Because of that I really felt connected to the place and the community. The other volunteers were also amazing, super friendly and fun to be around, which made the whole stay even better. Overall, I had an amazing time here and I truly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm, genuine and enjoyable Workaway experience.

Siri is a wonderful person, lovely and sweet. She knows how to get her hands dirty with all types of tasks, and when asked to help she always do it with a great attitude. She made us some nice mozerala and other food. She took care of cooling for the other volunteers and help us with some videos for our lodgez she helped with gardening, horses, seeding, cattle grazing and with the kids. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with siri and consider her n friend after this workaway experience

Ben is n very nice guy, always up to help when needed and takes responsibility when needed. We had some nice deep chats, and Ben has a wide range of knowledge regarding different topics He stayed at us for 3 weeks and we really enjoyed our time with him. He would benifit any workaway host, and we would highly recommend him.

A thriving farm born out of the barren desert where horses, animals, nature, and humans can heal. I would describe Belal's style of horsemanship as a blend of natural horsemanship and liberty - something that is unique and special not just in Egypt, but in the world. It was an incredible experience to spend time with Arabian horses (including stallions), a humbling experience that gave me much deeper insight, respect, and empathy into a horse's mind. The farm was created by community and if you have the opportunity to spend time there, I highly recommend it. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the space in whichever way speaks to you. The ethos reminds me of early Couchsurfing / Workaway days. Special thanks to Nour and Mohamed who made my month at the farm truly memorable. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

I thoroughly enjoyed the nine days that I spent with Michiko and her family. Michiko, Jensen and Sarasa (their six year old daughter) were so helpful, knowledgeable and energetic. We (2 other volunteers and I) were initially accepted during this period to help out with a kids camp but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the typhoon. Still, Michiko planned many different activities for us. Each day was filled with unique experiences from farming to packing goods to interacting with the children. In the first few days, we helped out with some upkeep of the farm area. We helped to start a small garden vegetable patch by weeding and sowing the seeds. After that, we also helped with digging the water channels for a small plot of rice paddy field. This work was tougher but it was manageable with the other volunteers. Michiko also did not rush us to finish the work and reminded us to take plenty of breaks. These two areas are only but a small part of Michiko and Jensen’s farm and work. Michiko and Jensen have a wealth of knowledge on how we can grow our foods sustainably and are collaborating with different partners towards their dream of keeping the natural resources in the area clean so future generations will still be able to enjoy these resources. It’s inspiring to hear about their journey and also see first hand the hard work that they have put in towards this goal. Apart from planting rice, the family also makes a lot of other products from the raw ingredients. Michiko is a fermentation master who is able to make so many delicious products (wine vinegar etc) from the rice that they grow or other fruits and vegetables that are found in the area. Aside from farming, I also learnt a lot about the donguri inspired education and even got to help out in a short workshop. I enjoyed the thoughtful conversions on early childhood education and it has been eye opening to learn about an education approach that really puts the child first and emphasises on building the child’s creative and problem solving capacities. We also had the chance to enjoy the nature of the local area as well as the ambience of the small towns in the area. On some afternoons, after the morning work at the farm, we had a chance to relax in the cooling waters of the nearby waterfalls. On some days, when Michiko had to run errands in town, we could also tag along with them to visit the morning and night markets. Thank you to Michiko and her family for having me! The things I’ve learned in these short nine days have been deeply enriching, and I’m sure they will continue to shape me for years to come. I wish you and your family nothing but the very best as you continue to grow your vision. I hope to return one day and continue supporting you on your journey.

This was our first Workaway experience, we stayed with Connie for 3 weeks at the Balapitiya location and we quickly fell in love with the animals. It was clear to see how much Conny loved and cared for the animals. During a our stay we fed and cared for the injured cats and dogs and did lots of dog walks! Connie made sure we had some days of to explore the beautiful island, and had the use of a moped. We highly recommend this Workaway!

Spend 2 weeks at Sandra's shelter, was a beautiful experience, whether at work or with others volunteers. Organisation is not easy everyday, there is a lot of things to know, if you have the willing to understand how is work, give helps to the others and taking care of animals, the experience will be rewarding. Thank you Sandra about the committment you have.

Staying with Hilarie and Ray was absolutely amazing. They are super nice folks and always try their best to make you feel at home. The workload was totally manageable with lots of free time to explore beautiful Vancouver. I’d recommend this experience to everyone, as I don’t think it can get any better than this. 10/10. Hopefully I’ll be able to come again someday :)

I had the most amazing 1,5 week with Angelika and Dennis. (And of course Griff, Daisy, Halo, Zara and Abby) They gave me a very warm welcome and I immediately felt relaxed and at ease. The tasks I had to do were very manageable and most of the time even fun to do because there was quite an array of different things to be done, so I was allowed to choose which ones fit me best. The evenings were spent eating wonderful and fresh food from the garden and afterwards some very fun kiwi movie nights or even playing card games which they taught me with a lot of patience. I was honestly sad to leave and am so grateful for the time I could spend with them during my time in New Zealand.

We are so glad that Eva joined us to help out in the garden. We found her very friendly and respectful. We were also impressed with the quality of her work, she worked well independently and can be trusted with tasks. We wish you all the best,

My experience at Masseria Lanzolla has been a dream from the very first moment! It's been a life-changing experience in many ways, but the best part has been the wonderful people I've met there, as I'm returning with a new family in Basilicata. Meeting Enrica is one of the best things that can happen to you in life, and her cooking is a true gift. But working with Marcello, spending time with Anna, or even just bumping into anyone who works there is a pleasure. On top of that, the surroundings are wonderful, and I wouldn't trade walks in the countryside for anything. Finally, I must say that the accommodations are incredibly comfortable, the food is amazing, and the wine is excellent! I highly recommend spending some time here because it will be an unforgettable experience! Thank you so much for everything, Enrica!

I stayed with Ayhan for almost two months in his beautiful place, which I had the chance to call home during that time. And it truly felt like home. We did so many things together and slowly built a strong bond. I was with another volunteer, and we were both treated like family, especially when his parents were around. It felt like a warm, cosy household where I didn’t just receive delicious food and a home, but also so much love and care. Staying in Kayaköy was incredibly inspiring, and Ayhan has a wonderful community there. The work varied from day to day: most of the days were light, and other days were more tiring depending on the tasks and the rhythm of the house. Communication was not always perfect, but we managed to understand each other with time, and everything flowed better once expectations became clearer. We cooked delicious meals, made art, created music, explored… Ayhan is a unique and generous person, and I believe many people will enjoy the experience of staying with him.
