Tomoyo was an excellent woofer. She is kind, friendly, and never shies away from meeting new people. I truly enjoyed hosting her. Her English is already very good, and I’m sure it will only improve further after her time in New Zealand. If she ever decides to come back, I would gladly welcome her again. I apologise for the late feedback. I was unable to write it earlier. I wish Tomoyo all the very best, and if she ever needs my help, I’m only a phone call away.

James and Emma were absolutely incredible volunteers. They were always in a great mood, full of good energy, and ready to help with anything we needed. Working with them was a real pleasure , not only because of their positive attitude, but also because they were amazing company. We truly enjoyed our time together. James mechanical skills and Emma´s attention to cleanliness were a huge help for us, and they approached every task with enthusiasm and responsibility. They made everything easier. To any hosts reading this: don’t hesitate to welcome them. You will be pleasantly surprised by how kind, hardworking, and fun these two are. They really are wonderful people. James & Emma, our home is always open for you. Come back whenever you want, and hopefully we meet again in England or anywhere else in the world… even if I pretend to say no. 😉 Thank you for everything!

Thank you again, Mélanie and Mack, for your incredible hospitality during our woofing stay. We truly had an amazing time with you you are such wonderful people: open-minded, kind, and so enjoyable to be around. Mélanie, your cooking is absolutely delicious every meal was a real pleasure. Mack, your kindness and willingness to help really touched us. We also loved spending time with your adorable dog Louis, as well as with your son both of them are truly lovely. The cultural exchange, the conversations, the games… everything was perfect and left us with great memories. A huge thank you for this beautiful experience. We sincerely hope our paths cross again! 🌿

I was so grateful that Aura looked after me and my safety like a mother. Her and her daughter Enya helped me navigate the busses to and from my stay and Aura even came to the nearest big city with me after my stay and helped me get on the right bus. They invited me to join whatever was going on in the community (like school events, church services, and soccer games), and they supported me in exploring, like when Aura suggested that I could go to a nearby town on my day off and her and Enya helped me plan it, and Enya even offered that I could bring her phone with me. They were so generous and supportive. My stay with them expanded my worldview. I experienced a lifestyle that’s so different from mine in the U.S. It stuck with me that people re-used materials they had in creative ways. And I was so impressed with how local the food we ate was, like vegetables from our garden and milk from our neighbors. I’ll always remember my stay here with love and gratitude.

I volunteered at this beautiful eco lodge/retreat centre for 2 weeks and it was a very fulfilling experience! I did all sorts of jobs from making beds to making chocolate, gardening to teaching english at the local school, construction and serving guests at the retreat- it was very diverse work! Yes the work was hard at times but also rewarding and there was a lot of time to relax in the gorgeous nature. On our days off we went horse riding, chilled by the natural piscina, went into town & visited a cloud forest! I especially enjoyed the yoga lessons with Eyal and cuddling with the very friendly dogs Mancha & Shosho 🐶 I had some health struggles whilst I was there but Nati and Eyal were always supportive & helpful. It was a pleasure to get to know them both, Natis infectious energy & Eyals countless visions for what's next! I truly had a wonderful time here- gracias! 💚

We are so blessed that Noah reached out to us for our workaway. From the moment we met him he was part of our family and became our new son! Noah is hands down one of the most hard working, fast learning and eager to help dynamic individuals we have ever met! The moment Noah arrived we laughed and enjoyed conversation for hours. Noah took on all our animals morning and evening routines with ease. He never forgot or missed anything. He took their care very seriously as it was an extremely hot summer. We have chickens, turkeys and sheep. He checked the animals throughout the day many times if nothing more than to give them a rub behind the ears and see how they were. All the chores were always done above expectation. Eggs collected, washed and put in the fridge for the farm stand daily. Garden watered when we couldn't. We had to leave home for work twice per week and we knew the animals were extremely well cared for alleviating all stress. Noah help with many projects around the yard and home. Moving and organizing lumber, chopping, splitting and stacking wood for winter and helping to finish a new fence and so much more. He always asked what more could he help with. We cooked together often and he eagerly wanted to make us our eggs and toast breakfast nearly every morning along with homemade bread for toast we learned to make together. He is a great cook. Homemade pasta, bread and more. We could go on in great lengths about our time with Noah. We love and miss him. If you have an opportunity to have Noah stay with you, you also will be blessed.

Roman stayed with us for about two weeks and was very helpful in those days! Someone who always likes to be on the move, Roman helped us move many wheel barrels of stones and soil and many barrels of wood. He was always ready for a nice cultural exchange or curious discussion and left the space clean and tidy when he left. We hope to have him back soon!

It was a true pleasure to have Jonathan as a volunteer. He brought a calm and adventurous presence to each day. He was always ready and curious to help us build our stone wall and often offered nice perspectives and conversation. We appreciated his patience, respect and being proactive in each task. We shared many meals and nice moments together and we hope he comes back soon!

My experience with the Binkleys was amazing: I stayed with them for 3 beautiful weeks, in which I really got the FULL EXPERIENCE. The comunication was perfect, so I never had a doubt about what they'd expect me to do or when I could take my time to do my stuff. They live in beautiful place, very calm, that I really enjoyed seeing. The house is wonderful and I had a lot of space for me. I got also to meet part of Beth's family which managed to make me feel also part of the family!! The kids are wonderful, very funny, smart and curious: I loved spending time with them, playing and trying to learn in alternative ways. We shared very good moments! Nic and Beth are great parents, I love their style! With them I could learn and experience so much about the US! We had such a good time together, and I feel like we managed to establish a good relationship that will go on also in the future. I would 100% recommend them as a host, just be ready to go on a big, funny adventure! See you in Italy guys!

We already miss Ylva! A true northern light, she stayed with us for just 5 days but brought a lot of joy and life with her. She always showed up enthusiastic, interested and proactive. We shared many nice stories, conversations and cultural exchanges and even a dance party one night. Ylva helped us build a stone wall and had no fear of solving the puzzle of which stone went where or carrying (or rolling :)) the heavy ones from near and far. She left her space clean and tidy and was always respectful of our needs and requests. We hope to see her again soon!

Ah, Ben... What an amazing time we had with you here! He's amazingly passionate about wood. We asked him to sand a slab of oak to make a table, and he transformed it into a masterpiece, going over and beyond any expectations, to a more-than-perfect final result! But to reduce him to that would not do him justice. He seemed a bit awkward at first, but once he opened his heart, we got to know him as a profoundly nice guy, very caring for anyone around him. He came to our place by car and regularly drove the other volunteers around for daytrips. He was always looking for ways to improve stuff, that seems like a button he can't turn off 😅 Multiple times he found better ways to do stuff on the project, Claire even ended up asking him to do small repairs to the house because Michiel would take to long to do them 😅 At some point made a little wooden bridge over a small gap between the pavement and the house, as a surprise, on his off-time. He's always gone over and beyond, whether it was on the project, with the kids, cooking or just being around. It was hard to say our goodbyes when he left, both for us and the kids. Thank you Ben so much for your time here, we hope you'll be back someday ❤️

Hi Thorina, Thank you very much for your time with us and for the help you offered during your stay. We appreciate every volunteer who chooses to support our project. I would like to clarify one situation for transparency. Before your departure, you kindly promised to organise a small school party for the children. However, on the day of the event, you told us that you had lost the money you planned to use. When asked, you said it was 50€. Although this amount was not enough to cover everything you had promised, we still appreciated your intention, and as hosts we offered to cover the cost for you. You also explained to us that you come from a difficult family situation in Germany. Because of this, we did not take any money from you and instead tried to help by arranging free accommodation and free food for your stay in Zanzibar, since you said you needed the 50€ for that. Later, you insisted that we should pay you 50€, even though we never took any money from you in the first place. You also stated that you would report us on Workaway if we did not give you the amount. This created a difficult situation for us, but to avoid further conflict, we agreed to pay the 50€ even though we had not taken it. We are currently in the process of sending it to you as promised. We always try our best to support our volunteers, even in personal matters, and we hope future volunteers understand that this was an exceptional case. We wish you all the best in your future travels and projects.
