Jeremiah joined us for 3 weeks, and he helped us in the garden. To be completely honest, we must say that gardening is not one of his favorite jobs. He never helped on a farm; this was his first experience. Nevertheless, he tried to do his best to manage the situation. He is very polite and respectful. He always tried to join different kinds of experiences and food; he appreciated the meals, even if we are mostly vegetarian.  We hope the best for you, Jeremiah! Look after yourself!

Alexandra is a smiling person. She loves cooking; she baked us a very nice oat bread! She met other workawayers in that moment, and she had no problem building good relationships with all of us! Furthermore, she helped us in the garden, in the house, and in the kitchen. Always ready to enjoy life and always smiling. It was a very amazing experience to host her! Highly recommended! I spent 3 weeks here and I have to say the people here are of the kindest people I have met! I felt welcome from the beginning with their warmth! They were very patient with my French practice and helped me improve a lot and I also learned a lot about DIY and organic gardening from the various people I worked with here. The house is warm and the food is healthy here. Each day I worked with someone different based on their schedule and we did some tasks that were necessary for the garden or the house. The town / village nearby has a small super market and laiterie and a small library, although I didn't get to go there much. Transport to larger towns / cities can take around 40m to 1h. There are beautiful scenery (view of Alps) and it is possible to borrow a bicycle for a cycle up the mountains nearby. I think this is a great place if you want to relax and take some time away from chaos of cities, and enjoy country side life on an organic farm with lovely people. A degree of autonomy will be useful as well, as sometimes you have to carry out some tasks yourself after being given instructions (you can always ask questions though and everyone is super helpful!)

Jacopo is a beautiful person! We miss him a lot! Always smiling, always ready to help, never said no, never complained. He helped us a lot in the garden; he enjoyed transplanting little vegetable plants, seeding carrots, spreading straw, and cleaning weeds from cultivation beds. He helped us in many other different things, also bulding home stairs! A very nice person, able to build strong relationships with us and other workawayers and our friends. We enjoyed his company a lot: we always remember him playing guitars on the sofa while cooking dinner! Very curious, he always asked for more information and tried to get through things very deeply. He is very responsible, very reliable. You can count on him! He wanted to enjoy the experience from every side. Highly recommended: the workawayers every host would like to meet! We wait for you to come back soon! We love you!

Iris stayed with us for 3 weeks. We immediately felt her energy, her way to enjoy life and to see the beauty and the potential. She was always ready to go: ready to help us in the garden and in the house, to bake biscuits, and to explore nature around us. Never said no, always ready for new experiences. You don't have to explain how to run the garden to her twice because she is very intelligent. No need to ask for her help: she was able to see and to do properly. We enjoyed her company, and we will never forget “the Queen of Bakery”, her way of taking care of herself by doing yoga and taking care of people around her. We hope to see you soon, Iris!

I had an amazing time at Eimer and Laoise’s place. First of all, (in my opinion) they are incredible and interesting people. They really made sure I got to experience as much as possible of the Irish (music) culture and the surrounding area. They took my fellow Workawayer and me on trips, hikes and we had movie nights with Irish movies. I loved the conversations I had with them, and very much enjoyed the work, which was mostly outside tending to the garden, trimming and weeding. But there was also a list of chores to choose from if the weather was (too) bad/wet, and because Eimer knew that I liked to tidy and organise I was allowed to clean and (re)organise the kitchen cupboards. Besides that, I got to do yoga with Eimer (almost) every morning, which I very much enjoyed, and got to experience a sound bath. I really hope I will be able to visit them again!

After Callum forgot that I was not a General of the second world war ("Jawoll!") we got along really well! I really appreciated his quick learning to move in the middle of the horses and he survived the try out of a riding lesson without too much harm done...He helped to catch a runaway pony and never complained about too much of shovelling horse poo - which is not so easy in winter time. He also really loves cooking and surprised us with a wonderful yorkshire pudding on his last evening here. The other co workers and I appreciated his friendly way always to offer help and they had funny times playing board games with Theo, our "left over " worker. He specially fell in love with Hugo, the Riesenschnauzer and we have seen an authentic picture with my untouchable cat Grisgris on his lap. I specially appreciate his reliable personality and his very british humour. So - where ever life is taking you - I wish you all the best - thank you again for your help here! Elke

I had a great time staying with Cynthia and her family. They are all very kind, friendly and welcoming. They were always willing to help me out, with recommendations, planning, picking me up and dropping me off of my trips and excursions (no matter the time). The chores were not hard, leaving enough time to fill in myself, and could vary each day. These chores could, for example, be doing laundry, dishes, dusting, hoovering, general cleaning and tidying, weeding, baking, and tending to/cleaning up the garden. I had my own place in the guesthouse, which was very nice, but I was always welcome in the main house. Cynthia is funny and kind, she really made me feel appreciated and I very much liked spending time with her; talking, walking or watching a movie. I’m very grateful for the time I got to spend in Castlecomer, so thanks again!

We had a really great time with Erika in our home, such a pleasure to meet her and spend time together. She is super motivated and always ready to give a hand for different tasks. She also repared many clothes, she said she enjoys wool and hand crafts and she did so well. She was also very lovely with our baby Luna and we could trust in her from the first day.

Hella spent one month in our home, providing us with all the help, love and wellbeing we were looking for. She looked after our three kids with great affection and helped us out with any task we asked. Had the most wonderful time here! I quite liked the morning and evening meditations, the rewarding work thoughout the day, and the great food. I had a very memorable and meaningful experience here, and can defiantly recommend it to anyone.

It was a wonderful experience hosting him. He is easy-going, friendly, and always willing to help with tasks around the hostel. He got along very well with both staff and guests, bringing a positive energy to the place. We truly appreciated his contribution and would happily recommend him to other hosts. He is responsible, kind, and a pleasure to have around.

Dennis has been a great part of our housekeeping team over the winter and spring - our peak season! He came with a good attitude and integrated himself into the social dynamics of the hostel very fast - he felt like part of the family right away. He was welcoming to our guests, polite, and always did what needed to be done. He helped out extra a few times when we were understaffed which was very appreciated. He worked with us for around 4 months and helped train new staff members when they joined. We would gladly have him back to work with us again!

Atenção brasileiros e latinos eu super recomendo vocês essa casa ! My experience with Peter and Mayu on Workaway saved my trip to Japan and completely changed my initial perspective during the first three weeks traveling through the country. First, having the opportunity to live in an old, traditional Japanese house, full of history, and being able to help with its renovation was incredible. Second, living with Peter and Mayu for three weeks was a great relief because they make you feel at home and part of the family. They ensure everyone has their own space and respect everyone's time to do their own things. Furthermore, there wasn't a single day I didn't have a good laugh in that house. They are wonderful people and I wish them all the best because they truly deserve it. If you want to experience the best of Japan and have an amazing experience, participate in community activities, experience life in rural Japan, and appreciate the stunning nature of Myoko, I highly recommend this couple!

My stay at Tim was really great! Everyone on the property was really friendly and super nice. The food was tasty and they keep your preferences/allergies in mind. Tim was really flexible in terms of working hours which made it possible to explore the nearby towns. I definitely recommend stay at Tim!

We loved having Adrien and Marina! They are a very lovely couple and were very keen to learn and gave us so much help in the week they were here. We had a big gardening project and they achieved so much, we are very happy with their work ethic an what they did! They would be an asset to any household. We enjoyed having them in the house with our family and they fitted right in with everyone. Would love them back! and the Tiramisu they made us was the best! We wish them well on their exciting adventures ahead!

Hey man, words can't express how much this trip meant to me. You generously gave me the opportunity and help, I'll never forget. It's a shame you were away on business during this time and I couldn't offer more assistance. I also met a Spanish couple (Ismael and Lucia) and had a wonderful time with them (I'll be different next time we meet! At least my cooking skills will be better!).
