Lily and Archie stayed with us in October. They are an amazing couple, engaging, hardworking, skilled and most of all full of kindness and generosity. We all had a most positive and rewarding workaway experience. Apart from all the routines and chores there was an atmosphere of energy and fun. Many many conversations were had about….food, books, music, travel, animals, culture, swimming and much more. . Lily is a skilled and enthusiastic cook of good food. Archie can turn his hand to any task. We appreciated our time with them and missed them both when they left. However we are still making Lilys “toasties”. Thank you both Lily and Archie.

Jack is a great guy with a big heart. He has a lot of life experiences with livng around the world and it was nice to have him around. He is welcome here any time.

ITALIAN / ENGLISH Purtroppo l’esperienza con Erica e Nicholas è durata solo una settimana a causa di problemi di comunicazione e mancanza di rispetto delle regole di casa. La coppia non parla inglese e conosce pochissimo italiano; quando spiegavo le cose rispondevano “sì sì sì”, ma spesso senza aver realmente capito, cosa che può diventare pericolosa quando si parla del funzionamento di attrezzi o impianti. Nonostante avessi spiegato chiaramente il nostro stile di vita sostenibile (pannelli solari e stufa a legna), hanno acceso autonomamente il riscaldamento senza chiedere, manomettendo anche i parametri dell’impianto quando io ero fuori casa. Al mio ritorno il riscaldamento non funzionava e ho dovuto sistemare tutto. Quando ho chiesto spiegazioni, Nicholas ha negato di aver toccato l’impianto, cosa non possibile perchè quella giornata nemmeno i miei figli erano a casa e poi noi sappiamo come usare l'impianto. Lo stesso è accaduto con le bombole del gas: senza competenze e senza chiedere, Nicholas ha cercato di scambiare le due bombole credendo che una fosse esaurita (in realtà era piena ma il gelo ne blocca il funzionamento) rischiando situazioni pericolose, per poi scrivermi chiedendo di comprarne una nuova. Se mi avesse chiesto gli avrei spiegato come fare ma non lo ha fatto. Non posso fidarmi di chi mette mano a impianti che non conosce senza prima chiedere e poi addirittura nega. Consiglio la coppia per lavori estremamente semplici o se conoscete bene lo spagnolo. Inoltre non ho apprezzato che passassero tanto tempo chiusi in camera: la sera quando i miei figli non erano a casa mi sentivo obbligata a cenare da sola con Nicholas perchè Erica restava in camera per il suo digiuno intermittente, per me estremamente imbarazzante. Anche se non si mangia, è buona educazione sedersi a tavola con gli altri. Anche perchè altrimenti dov'è lo scambio culturale di Workaway? ENGLISH Unfortunately, my experience with Erica and Nicholas lasted only one week due to communication problems and a lack of respect for the house rules. The couple does not speak English and knows very little Italian; when I explained things to them, they would say “yes, yes” even when they hadn’t actually understood, which can be dangerous when dealing with tools or home systems. Even though I clearly explained our sustainable lifestyle (solar panels and a wood stove), they turned on the heating system without asking and even changed the system settings while I was away. When I returned, the heating was no longer working and I had to reset everything myself. When I asked for an explanation, Nicholas denied touching the system, which is impossible because no one else was home that day, and of course we know how our own system works. A similar situation occurred with the gas bottles: without any experience and without asking, Nicholas tried to switch the bottles, thinking one was empty (it was actually full, but freezing temperatures can temporarily block the gas). He risked creating a dangerous situation and later wrote to me asking to buy a new gas bottle. If he had asked first, I would have explained what to do. I cannot trust someone who handles systems they don’t understand without asking, and then denies it afterward. I would recommend this couple only for very simple tasks, or if you speak Spanish well. I also didn’t appreciate that they spent so much time in their room: in the evenings, when my children were not at home, I felt obliged to dine alone with Nicholas because Erica stayed in the room due to her intermittent fasting, which was quite uncomfortable for me. Even if you are not eating, it is polite to sit at the table with the others — otherwise, where is the cultural exchange that Workaway is based on?

I spent 3 amazing weeks with Ronald, Rachel, and their little daughter Julia. The Project is a very interesting initiative to help reduce the effects of climate change in Uganda, through climate education in schools and tree planting in a rainforest subject to deforestation. Ronald is very passionate about the environment and truly dedicated to his work. He always made me feel safe and warmly welcomed me into his home and daily life. Uganda is a special country which offers beautiful natural landscapes, delicious food and very welcoming people!

Having the opportunity to visit Munay Forest with Ellen, Sven, Layra, and Aylani was a wonderful experience! We thank them for opening their home to us and allowing us to help with their beautiful project. We had the opportunity to work the land, plant trees, care for the animals... all in a natural, peaceful environment with idyllic scenery. We learned so much about permaculture. Ellen is a great teacher! She always made us feel at home and prepared delicious meals for us! If you have the chance to visit Munay, don't hesitate. You'll enjoy the walks with Ibo, family meals, the wonderful nature that surrounds you, and Ellen's kindness. She's always ready to help and make you feel welcome. Thank you so much for this experience! We hope to see you again.

Griffin and Emma, what a great couple, always on time, and no problem jumping into whatever we gave them to do. Both have a great attitude and were really enjoyable to be around, Griffen was always eager to use gardening and power tools and could finish the job given without supervision which is always a good trait. Emma was the same ready to jump in and get things done. A good example would be, we had several last minute bookings they wouldn’t hesitate to setup the treehouse for new guests arriving. They both participated in wood and plumbing projects and repairs. They left us an awesome addition to our jungle art mural that highlights lots of animals, critters and plant life. 🦋🐒🦎🌴🌺 Overall we loved hosting them both and would take them back in a heartbeat, and I don’t normally say that, they will be missed.

I stayed with a friend for 2.5 weeks in September and we had an amazing time staying with Adi :) We were in Palampur for most of the time and went up to Kunr for 4-5 days and both places are very special in their own way! Palampur was so friendly and welcoming, especially with Adis wonderful family while Kunr felt more unfamiliar and magical. We could only get to Kunr later because the roads had been destroyed during the monsoon, but Adi took very good care of us. He is a very hardworking and attentive person, who did everything he could to show us the area, told us about his family stories and even helped me organise an interview in Dharamsala. I cannot thank you enough, you are the best! Also Adi and his family have a lot of humour and always did their best to spend time with us, either sitting on the terrace, playing cards or going through old family photos. I truly cannot recommend this place enough! And I'm very sorry for leaving this review so late, I hope you are doing good and wish you all the best for your future :) Thank you for everything!

I spent three weeks in the Kedeli community last April, and that will be a memory I will always carry with me! Time spent there was so lovely and nice, I remember how I walked from the main road through a fog so thick you couldn't see your own feet, and when I arrived all the people from the community were waiting for me with big smiles and so much excitement. I immediately felt so welcomed and at ease in the house. I had no previous experience with people with disabilities and before arriving I didn't know exactly what to expect, but there was really no reason to worry. It's so easy to make friends with everyone, you will just blend in the life of the house so naturally, and the sincere and warm light of each person will make even linguistic barriers seem not that important. I worked mostly outside in the garden clearing it out from branches, a very peaceful and relaxing job. Hours of work are super reasonable, and you get two days off per week, so I could spend the weekend visiting other places in Georgia or just exploring around the area, which is absolutely amazing. I wish I had more time and I could stay longer. The food served for every meal is so delicious, and I miss sitting down at the table together with everyone. A really really beautiful experience that I am grateful about.

Cessco! Thank you so much for having me for over two weeks. you were super cool, reliable, smart, and knowledgeable about so many things, easy to talk to, and very hardworking man. From day 1, you and Yumi-san welcomed me like family and taught me so much about the ocean. You took me along to the surf lessons with the guests it was my first time, and I loved it and want to continue. You’re also a great professional surfer, and I was really happy to learn from you. I felt safe in the water and learned everything I needed as a beginner. My work was mostly around the house cleaning, doing chores, making beds for the guests, preparing the surf gear sometimes, picking up guests, explaining the house rules, and cooking dinner. but yes, you were the best cook in the house tho! loved your pasta. During my stay, I enjoyed learning Spanish with the workers and guests from different countries, watching movies, chilling and chatting and laughing on the porch, swimming after work, and of course “suffering” every morning! 🏄‍♂️ I’ll definitely would like to come back! I truly recommend this place to anyone loves meeting new people and who loves the nature& outdoors. Grazie mille!😊

Veronica was an excellent volunteer here for two weeks. She took on a variety of tasks including painting, harvesting & replanting around the finca, preparing our range of natural soaps for the local markets and helping us clean deep clean for the upcoming high season. Veronica had a positive, enthusiastic and hard-working attitude to all her tasks no matter how difficult, she understood what was asked of her every time and was comfortable asking any follow-up questions which we really appreciated. We also really appreciated her always asking if she can help more around the house or to make meals with us. Veronica is a very interesting and friendly volunteer so she was a joy to be around outside of her working hours as well. We really enjoyed swapping travel stories over our shared meals and heading to our favourite local beaches and waterfalls together. She is also very happy being independent and doing her own thing on her time off. Highly recommended!

It was a pleasure having Sarah as part of our volunteer team. She is a very friendly and respectful person, always willing to help with everything. She had a great relationship with both her colleagues and the guests. We hope everything goes well for her and that she can return to our hostel someday

Audrey was with me for nearly 2 weeks. She is great company and a very hard worker. The dogs adored her and even Mr Darcy (puss cat) allowed her to stroke him. I would highly recommend Audrey, especially her brownies!! Thanks for all your hard work.

I had an amazing time at 'el trullo del re'. Francesco was a great host, providing me with information about perma- and italian culture. He was very welcoming. I loved the little van I could sleep in and ofcourse the two lovely dogs that walked around. I would definately recommend a workaway with Francesco!

We would like to thank Cameron for a wonderful and fruitful time from September 25 to November 17, 2025, which she spent with us. It was delightful to work with her and also to spend quality leisure time together, a real win-win situation. Cameron is very reliable, communicative and was interested to learn about our life and participate in it. She not only helped us harvesting the olives, but was involved in all the necessary preparatory and afterwork. She walked our 3 dogs regularly in the mornings and made friends with them really fast. All our cats also loved her. She took over the responsibility to care for and clean the pond. We loved her occasional cooking and were happy that she helped with many everyday chores as they came up and were necessary.

IT* La presenza di Shawn che e' venuto come primo ospite per iniziare questa avventura del nostro nuovo progetto, e' stata d'avvero importante. I volunteered for 6 weeks, and had an amazing time. Students of all ages made this such a well-rounded experience - from kids as young as 7 to mature students learning English online. I met so many people that I'll be carrying with me on future trips. Teaching in Catriel was an amazing cultural exchange; we worked on small projects involving writing short stories and playing games, and even a Halloween camp, which took work but was incredibly rewarding and made for lots of memories around the camp fire after dark. The school schedule is very manageable, allowing for plenty of time to explore the town and surroundings area. Classes are Monday to Thursday, mostly in the afternoon and the students make it fun and engaging. Time flies really. Then, there are overnight buses from Catriel that go pretty much anywhere. Also, Lili and Iris, and Ben (Lili's son) were more than happy to show me around town, and help introduce me to all sorts of activities available -- my favourite was taking tango lessons for about a month, which added to the lovely experience. Made new friends, had plenty of asado, and long nights chatting with these amazing people. For most of my time in Catriel, I shared to experience with another volunteer, and it felt a bit like camp, when paths cross and you make friends. I'll miss you all!

This experience was truly the highlight of our trip in India. We are absolutely in love with everything - the place, the mountains/lush valley views, morning yoga til late night jamming guitar session,… and especially the people! Yudhish is a super kind and knowledgeable host. Together with his amazing team Genie, Sanju, Umish,… they truly filled up our time with unforgettable memories. Our day-to-day consisted of helping with creative work, cleaning and simply chill with guests in the evening around the fireplace - next to the guitar, next to Hachi and Bonzo (the cutest and sweetest doggos ever), accompanied by homemade cheesecakes, lots of singing and late night talks. Additionally, we shared jungle walks, temple visiting, birthday party dancing, stargazing nights, and endless life stories. We learnt a lot about yoga’s essence from Yudhish, life on the mountains from the locals and most of all, how to live in the rhythm of nature with care, respect and deep gratitude. When we arrived first it felt like family, but when we left even more than that - a place where our hearts now are anchored at. Thank you Yudhish and everyone, we’ve found our favourite place to be in India, and we cannot wait to be back again (soon)! 🩷
