I am grateful for the opportunity to have spent time with Mladen in Split. He is a truly unique person, with a plenty of knowledge on intriguing topics such as raw food and spirituality. Also, he is very warm, welcoming and easy to get along with. His appartment in Split is very spacious, and we shared some really nice time together. So thank you and all the best! :)

I am writing this feedback a bit late, but better late than never. I stayed at Jose&Phil lovely farm in July and August 2025. Choosing this place was one of the best decesions I have ever made – it was absolutely amazing. I am giving them 100 out of 10. Trust me, it is the best place in Australia you can find. Jose&Phil and their whole family are among the kindest people I have ever met. I had so much fun and enjoyed deep conversations with them. They showed me around, taught me a lot about farm, how to care of horses (I feel like an expert now :D), and about Australia its culture and nature. I had an opportunity to ride a horse for the first time ever, which was wonderful. Jose is the best teacher you could wish for. I also enjoyed watching her ride and I fell in love with the sport.I joined Phil's runs which was also fun. If you have read other reviews you might have noticed, that everyone writes about Phil's amazing cooking. I did not want to believe it, but it is absolutely true! I have never eaten better meals than those made by Phil, not even in a restaurant. They were absolutely delicious. We had dinner together every evening and after that we talked or played some cards which was a nice way to spend the long winter evenings. I felt like part of their family there <3 I really enjoyed the jobs. Mostly, I was weeding the paddocks, cleaning the horse yards, and cutting hedges and bamboo. It was fun. I left after two and half weeks there, because I went to another place and then to travel a bit around Australia. After that, I was supposed to go back to Europe. However, I loved and missed this farm so much that I cancelled my flight just so I could come back and stay a couple more weeks (until the end of August, then I really had to go back). Not a day goes by when I don't miss this place, people, and the animals, and I hope I can come back again soon. Thank you Jose and Phil for everything, you are the best! <3

Dr. Ivan Alejandro Perez was an ideal WorkAway for my particular needs at the time. He arrived, with the intention of helping me care for my husband, who was sick and close to the end of life. Unexpectedly, my husband died on about the third day of Dr. Ivan’s stay. It was very comforting to have the presence of someone compassionate, kind, and comfortable with grief. Ivan Perez was adaptable and willing to do many things he had never tried before. He painted the trim of a new door I had installed, and he helped me arrange a slideshow for the celebration of life several weeks after my partner of 32 years passed away. It was a time when his quiet caring presence was ideal. He was great at repairing things and had a lot of patience. Ivan cleaned all the filters of my heat pumps (I didn’t even know they had filters!). It was his first big trip, leaving Mexico and coming to Canada. He enjoyed the rain and lush forest, reminding me that I live in a very special place. He is a gentle soul, who, without words, offers help and solace, which I really appreciated. He is meticulous when he takes on a job, careful, thorough, and thoughtful. I appreciated his judgment at a time when I was tired, grief-stricken, and not always functioning well. It was a gift to have his warm and friendly presence while I was reinventing myself after the loss of my husband of 32 years. He did routine chores, such as recycling, bringing bags to the green dump, some house cleaning, and yard work. I appreciated his opinions while making decisions regarding my house and property. He assisted my friend and tenant with driving lessons, and adapted to our rainy season without complaints. I started taking Spanish lessons by the end of the second week, and I wished I had started sooner. I had not used my minimal Spanish for 10 years, so it was great to have a tutor who was not critical, despite my forgotten words. We laughed at my creative translations and enjoyed the simple stories I downloaded for beginners. He is a good Spanish teacher. Ivan is a smart, thoughtful person, diplomatic and sensitive to others' needs. He would be an asset, as he adapts to each situation with grace and sincerity. I highly recommend him.

I stayed with Marisabel for a week this summer and it was a lovely experience. I helped with cleaning up and household tasks. Furthermore we enjoyed each other's company and had good conversations about life. We also went around in Cuenca a bit as there was a market in the week I was there. It was really nice to stay with Marisabel and I would love to see all the creative things she will create in the future!

I felt surrounded by Annette’s warm, motherly love during my stay, and it truly felt like home. Lisa was also incredibly kind and told me, “Think of this as your home, relax and enjoy your time here,” which meant so much to me. Every morning, we meditated, played music, or walked through the forest. Here, I learned that instead of rushing toward the future, it’s more important to listen to the voice of my heart in the present moment. This realization is a big lesson I will carry with me for life. Annette’s son was also kind and has an amazing singing voice — I highly recommend listening to him. The daily tasks changed, but with Annette’s guidance, everything — from gardening to carrying firewood — was enjoyable and never too hard. We visited the town, the sea, and even a farm — every experience was meaningful and memorable. It was a heartwarming, unforgettable stay.

Piet and Grischa were fabulous workers. They spent 6 days with us and did amazing work , which included building a retaining wall, moving dirt , trimming plants and weeding. They were very pleasant to talk to and we enjoyed their company. We'd highly reccommend them to other hosts if you are looking for hard working, honest young men.

Jenny's month here was awesome! She instantly clicked with everyone—my family, my friends. Seriously, she fit right in from day one. She's super talkative and curious, always surprising us with cool, specific details about her home country. We laughed and talked until midnight most nights—we were exhausted sometimes, but we just had so much to chat about! Her mind is seriously sharp; she picked up instructions instantly and brought great, thoughtful ideas. She has serious stamina and is so adaptable; she’d be amazing at anything—from manual work to computer stuff and deep discussions. Plus, she taught us how to make music by blowing on grass, and she was so good with my son. We were definitely lucky to have her! We will miss you, Jenny

Me and Tam stayed for 3 weeks on Emines farm, the work was always varied with a few tasks that had to be done everyday like walking the dogs and taking care of the horses, i enjoyed the work and the hours were fair and respected. The food was really nice and we had lots of interesting and funny conversations with the great group of volunteers who were there! If you are looking for mostly a cultural exchange or you're a sensitive person it probably isnt the best place to go but if you like the idea of farmwork and good food then go for it. All in all i had a really nice experience and liked learning about the olive harvest, thank you emine:)

We had a positive workaway experience with Camilla; she really helped us a lot :-) The harvest in our greenhouse will be better because she sifted and distributed so much compost, and the quinces that Camilla picked have already been turned into juice and jelly (so yummy!). Her help in preparing for Holger's birthday party has been very valuable. That the wall in the holiday apartment is finally painted is also a big plus. To have Camilla around was such a nice and interesting experience. We had a lot of interesting discussions. Also, good luck with your PhD-Project, Camilla! Always safe travels!

First of all , we were really lucky to have Kyle as a volunteer. He became part of our little family from the first moment and we did not need to explain much about the tasks because he is used to be helpful and he understood what we needed almost instantly. This is why he was so helpful. We were having unexpected issues and it was a relief having Kyle at home. He was always willing to give a hand and with a smile. We appreciate this, Kyle, so thanks a lot for your comprehension. Apart from that it is really easy to be with him. We could spend very nice time sharing our points of view about different topics and having fun in the festival city, even though we think it was abit surprising some of our costums :D. He also was very nice to our dogs, they loved him and even one of them looked for him when he was in his room ! Definitively it is worthy to have Kyle as a volunteer. He is, overall, a nice person and very helpful, it does not matter what you ask him for. We know that now we have a good friend as well. Good luck, Kyle, in your trips! We hope to see you again.

Aileen came on a kind of short notice - after we had a friendly video call. She helped out with two other helpers and got along very well with them as well. She was one of the helpers who where really part of the project, seeing what needed to be done and also willing to do what was needed the most. At that time painting, varnishing, sanding, rearranging of the tool room, clearing debris in the garden, clearing the yoga area, removing old hedgerow, cooking, cleaning spaces... She was really effective! Aileen brought loads of good energy, we had nice and profound talks, a wonderful and very spiritual Halloween (she played the guitar and sang). She did share the cooking (delicious) and dishes... She even helped with extra energy work in the 'studio' - and also had an impact there. Too bad that she had to move on after a week - but she is ALWAYS welcome to come back at any time, as a helper, friend, new neighbour ... Good luck with everything - and thank you very much!

I spent a week and a half with Deborah this fall. Deborah provided me with a bike to explore the town, and she also showed me a local gym and introduced me to some other young people, which I appreciated as a solo traveller. Our main project together was refinishing the downstairs floor, which involved moving furniture, cleaning, vacuuming, organizing, sanding, and painting. I was also responsible for cleaning the main house (bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen) as well as her two Airbnbs. Unfortunately, Deborah and I struggled to communicate due to a language barrier, which led to several misunderstandings. The tasks and overall environment were not what I expected based on her profile, which describes the stay as a language and cultural exchange. Instead, the experience felt more like work-focused help, and I would have appreciated clearer expectations and a bit more gratitude for the contribution I was making. While there were some positives, the stay ultimately did not meet my expectations.

Kacper stayed for 3 weeks and he was amazing. He is self motivated and really interested and keen to learn more about what we do. He adapted quickly to the farm, to the animals. He is friendly, respectful, hardworking and kind. He helped with the cleaning, some construction, planting the strawberries and he fixed the house’s internet connection. (a big applause!) The communication was so easy with him. He would be a valuable member of any community in any situation. We are very thankfull for everything. You are always welcome to the farm.

I'm glad I found Maria. This was my 1st Workaway and I highly recommend helping her if you get the chance. She was very helpful in organizing transportation to our house. She then picked me up at the bus station. Her house is very peaceful, and the place for me to stay was an entire separate apartment. It is located 50 meters from the sea. We also had meals together and did fun activities. She is very easy to get along with. Her cats are super cute and always want to play. The work was easy and Maria helped along side me. I highly recommend joining Maria if you get a chance. I'm very glad I did. Thank you Maria!

What a fantastic time with Niamh and her sweet teenagers and unforgettable dog. It's a house full of energy, and no two days are the same. I enjoyed Niamh's performance, a fantastic singer. We went for a lovely walk with other Workaway members. Helping behind the bar was also a fun afternoon. And the trust that I could repair her walls was also very rewarding. I wish you all the best and will definitely see you again. Greetings Saskia.

My experience was really healing and comfortable. Mila and Rubin are gem of a person. The cabin for volunteers was super cozy and the place is very enchanting and quiet. I was there during a retreat and it was a lot of learning. The host doesn't stay there so you might not have a very extreme cultural exchange but whenever she's there, she tries her best to teach you new things. I would definitely come back if I get a chance! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us!
