Akira and Yuki are an amazing married couple. They stayed with us for three weeks and it became an unforgettable time for us. They performed every job at a high level. At the same time, we tried to plan each work together and discuss it at every stage. As a result, we have a well-coordinated, friendly team. One day, they let Gulnara and me go for three days so that we could visit our newborn grandson in another city. It turned out to be a short but eventful vacation for us. Without their help, we would hardly have been able to leave the house and household. Akira and Yuki are very open-minded people, and almost all our friends and neighbors who talked to them at least a little bit loved them. Our chickens, sheep and cats loved them too))). For us, it was not just a project, but the acquisition of new, loyal friends. Thank you very much Akira and Yuki! Arigato! With gratitude Yeldos, Gulnara and Raya!

Levi is a lovely young guy and a pleasure to host . He tackled all tasks with enthusiasm and very conscientiously. He appreciated learn ing new skills such as vege gardening, creating new vego meals, (that said Levi is a very good cook with his own yummy repertoire) . Levi's considerate and thoughtful nature is very evident. He is open and warm, and as his profile says, he is really keen to connect and discover more about different lifestyles, sustainability, what makes us who we are etc, so needless to say we had many great chats. He was great at checking in regularly re his arrangements and my schedule and asking what he could help with even if it wasn't a task on his task list, and if a task is new to him he will be honest and ask you to teach him.

Where should we start? Everything was so amazing that it’s hard to put this experience into words, but we’ll give it a try! As for our tasks, they were very diverse: harvesting rice and laying it out to dry, picking vegetables from the garden, cleaning and sorting them, clearing a path so that Naoko and her family could use it, playing with Satsuki and Yamato, sharing our culinary culture… and many other things we’re probably forgetting. What we’ll truly cherish is the warm welcome we received from Naoko, Guchan, Satsuki, and Yamato. We had the chance to live with them for a little over two weeks, and therefore learned so much—not only about Japan, but about life in general. So once again, thank you for everything, it was truly wonderful to spend time with you! And thank you, Guchan, for introducing us to the world of carpentry. 😉 Sending you our love! Ki o tsukette!!

If you're looking for an extraordinary and absolutely incredible place to volunteer, we have just what you need! We spent 10 weeks volunteering at this farm. The farm work is fantastic and incredibly interesting. We learned so much thanks to Michael and Anja. Every weekday (excluding weekends), we worked 5 hours and then had free time to do activities with the other volunteers. If you want to meet people from all over the world, this is the place for you. We had our best summer in Canada. I 100% recommend the farm. A huge thank you to Michael, Anja, and their entire family.

I had a great time staying with Chris. He is a great host, who made sure there was lots of food available at all times and even cooked some great meals almost every day. I had my own room and bathroom and was free to use the gym in the barn, which was great. My tasks where very manageable and included weeding, feeding the ducks and geese in the morning and mowing the lawn. They left me with lots of free time to spare. Chris, Ed and Jesse were nice to chat to and brought me closer to the (sometimes weird) kiwi culture. Chris even resubscribed to Neon just so I could finish GoT (thank you for that!).

Torna presto 👍

I spent only one week there. I hoped I will meet another volunteers and I did! Family is very nice, welcoming and communicative. They are always willing to help with anything you need. They can give you very helpful information about the area and hiking and trekking there. We worked couple times at the field but it wasn't hard job and it took just approximately 2 hrs, maybe less. You have a lot of free time so you can relax or explore surrounding areas. Nice stay!!

I’m embarrassingly late with writing this feedback — you’d think I’d forgotten what they did. But the truth is, every day I see something they helped me with, or I remember one of our conversations. Because Andrej loves to talk. Sometimes he’d be chatting away and I had to remind him, “Work and talk!” But it was always enjoyable and meaningful. Bilja is quieter at first, but in one-on-one moments we had really wonderful conversations. They are great people! They didn’t have the easiest tasks to do, yet they did everything without a single complaint (Yheat, or whatever the spelling is! ;) So thankfull we could remove those big walls! And the plaster is still on the ceiling! It is amazing! I’m truly curious and excited to see what life will bring them next.

I met such beautiful people here. I’m already on the other side of Peru, but honestly, my heart is still in the jungle. This was one of the best months of my life — truly transformative. Korina and Guillermo are incredible people and I’m so grateful I got to spend a whole month with them. Guillermo knows so much about the jungle and plants, and I loved our conversations. He listens, he supports, and I learned a lot from him. Korina has a heart full of love — I felt so welcomed and understood by her. Being around her is just comforting, she’s such an empathetic soul. This place and this family helped me reconnect with myself, find more clarity about my path, and feel more confident about my next steps. I always felt safe and trusted them completely. I helped with the kids and around the house — and oh, I miss the kids so much! My time in the jungle shifted something inside me. I’m more relaxed, full of joy, and I see what I want in my life more clearly now that I had time to slow down and think. Their lifestyle is so inspiring — close to nature, fresh and healthy food (I’m more conscious about my diet now!), connection, cooperation, and a peaceful rhythm of life. Communication and tasks were always clear, and you have plenty of free time in the afternoons and on weekends. Yes, it can be hot and humid and the mosquitoes can be annoying — but it’s absolutely worth it. Connection – Love – Learning – Clarity. I really hope to meet them again, hopefully next year, because I feel like my journey with Peru isn’t finished yet. 😊 I was also lucky to meet Guillermo’s parents — such lovely people. I’ll carry this place and these people in my heart forever. Bless this family. ♥️

Ann was the ideal volunteer. She quickly grasped every task and performed them accurately. She was also strong, making even tasks like hammering and shoveling a breeze. She always treated every task with the same meticulous attention to detail as if it were her own, so we always felt safe entrusting her with a task. Ann also got along well with those around her. Laughter was constant wherever she was. She was also comfortable cooking and cleaning for others. Last fall, the weather in Korea was extremely difficult for organic farming. However, we persevered through the difficult times by working with Ann on the farm. We were happy to finish the year's farming with Ann. We hope to see Ann again soon.

I spent a lovely 10 days with Jacques and Seung Hwa at their quaint home in rural Jeollonom-Do! They are very kind, interesting, and reasonable hosts who offer a unique cultural experience through a glimpse into their traditional Korean lifestyle. I highly recommend this workaway! I felt welcomed from our first evening when Jacques and Seung Hwa greeted me with a delicious warm dinner. Family meals were a highlight of my stay. Seung Hwa and Jacques shared almost every meal with me, introducing me to many charming local restaurants as well as Seung Hwa’s impressive home cooking! I got a culinary tour of “Korea’s Kitchen,” which would be difficult to achieve without such qualified local guides! My friend Xavier and I also had the chance to share some of our American cooking. ;) Our chores varied from day to day but included working in their small field, pruning bushes, collecting stones and bamboo, and scraping wallpaper off of a bare concrete wall. Seung Hwa and Jacques were very reasonable in their expectations. We took frequent breaks in between jobs and several days did not include much work at all. I especially appreciated how Seung Hwa and Jacques often work alongside their workawayers, making the experience more fun! Doam and its surroundings make for a picturesque and relaxing visit. Life is slow-paced, but activities abound nonetheless, and Seung Hwa and Jacques like making time for their workawayers to experience them. During my visit, we visited a local temple, walked around a nearby island, experienced the Gang-jin fresh market and went to a traditional public bath (twice). As someone who loves the peace of the countryside, I immediately felt at home. This was my first workaway experience and I’m glad it was with Seung Hwa and Jacques! They are special people with an unusually interesting lifestyle and accompanying philosophy. I learned so much about their fascinating life stories as well as South Korean culture more broadly. Oh, and their french bulldog Haudou is extremely cute! Thank you Seung Hwa and Jacques for an amazing stay!

Pedro is one of the nicest young men you can meet, very pleasant, good company , always a smile, kind, really very nice person. He was with us a short time - our schedules were in conflict that could not be resolved and caused difficulty . I do advise that you be exact for the time you are willing & need to & are able to host. Pedro works part time - that is his priority as also social events he has. You can contact me for any further information. We regret that we could not work out our schedules because Pedro is so very nice a person.

Diane was such a wonderful addition to our family. She arrived while we were completely exhausted from our baby’s sleep regression, and she immediately stepped in and eased the load. Once we’d caught up on sleep, we even got to enjoy a lovely day together at the Grey Lynn Festival. She shared her knowledge as a botanist, played piano for us, helped with cooking and gardening, and was absolutely amazing with our dog. We felt so lucky to have her.

Tristan was so easy to host and he was an outstanding Workaway as well. He put in long hours and worked independently with confidence and skill. I had no problems allowing him to use any of our machinery or tools — he handled everything safely and competently. He made a real, lasting difference on our property by building a mountain bike track, extending current walking trails and helping with foxglove management. We are very grateful for all the effort and time he put into our place. He stayed with us for two weeks, and we would welcome him back anytime.

More of the same, folks! J & J were absolutely wonderful. They take their responsibilities seriously, think critically, and pitch in with what needs to be done—so they’re able to integrate themselves seamlessly and quickly into creating solutions. And it was hugely appreciated. From the mundane to the high-level, they offered support in ways that will have a lasting impact. Yes—the dogs loved them but even help with weeding the garden, straightening up the back patio and their fried rice and air fried sweet potato chips were truly laud-worthy! Thank you both. The dogs and I already miss you!

Marius and Annika helped me tremendously. They arrived just as the fires started, which was not an easy moment, but they handled everything with so much support and calm. They are tidy, neat, and take real care of things. When I had to leave for a longer period, it felt natural and to ask if they wanted to stay and look after the house. When one of them couldn’t work on a particular day, the other discussed it with me and offered to work longer to make up for the time. Both are honest, considerate, and genuinely kind. And beyond all that, they’re artists. Marius played me a song he made, and I thought it was incredible. And if you want to be in for a real treat, listen to Annika sing. Her voice is breathtaking. It really is!

Nazha is a really kind host. She has a really good heart and always makes sure that you are happy. The most important thing is to communicate well and ask again if you didn't understand. I felt like family there and I am really happy about this real maroccan culture experience. Teaching in the school was also very interessting and the stundents (small and big) are very kind and open. Thank you so much for everything!

Heyo!☀️ I don’t know why it took me so long to write this review. I guess I still needed time to let everything sink in. And most importantly, I felt that Amit had already understood everything I experienced in Samothraki, not only through the tears I shed when I left, but throughout the ten incredible days I spent there at the end of October. Amit’s land is a special place. I won’t try to describe it, because there are no words that can contain enough emotion, sound, colour, texture or scent to make you truly understand it. But if you're reading this, trying to decide what to do: go. Just go, and see for yourself. Mind you, this isn’t a place to “rest”… at least not in the ordinary sense. Your soul will rest more deeply than ever, but you’ll also find yourself wanting to participate, to be present, to do things, to give something back to that land. When I was there, we were six people, and the daily tasks were shared in the most natural way, based on what each of us felt drawn to, what we enjoyed, what resonated with us. I loved that. Nothing forced, nothing mechanical...it felt right. I found a place like no other, and I was lucky enough to also find amazing people there. And while Amit says it’s “the island’s magic,” I agree with something Rohna (a very special soul I met there) once told me: “This isn’t Samothraki’s magic…this is Amit’s magic.” He created something that only someone deeply empathetic, and shaped by a long inner journey, could create. You can feel it in every inch of the land he cares for. Just go. As for me, I hope to return one day. This place will stay carved in my heart forever. Thank you🪾🍁
