Really nice Family, they made me feel welcome, sadly i arrived with a lot of rain and cold temperatures :( They really cared for me, for example they lend me rubber boots, hot-water bottle and clothes (because mine got wet). In their eco village they have an outside kitchen, a compost toilet, a vegetable garden and you will be sleeping in a nice little cozy camper. Except the weather i really enjoyed my stay, but i had to go early because i sadly got a cold and couldn't work :( But i want to say, thank you for welcomibg me into your home and the really good food! I wish you all the best!!🌟💗

From the moment, Kacey wrote to me, I was looking forward to meet her ! And then she arrived, like an old friend of the family. Our animals loved her and I absolutely enjoyed her company from the first moment on. Kacey is a real hard worker ! She cleaned our whole backyard from the terrible blackberry bushes, old plans and wood. Always been followed by the chickens, where Kacey also worked in the stable. She helped to clean the horse stables on the farm, where our cute Bonny Ponny lives, and Bonny loved to be brushed and cuddled by her. Also in the house, Kacey helped cleaning for the weekend, to join the free time on a cozy place. Our cat and dog loved to lay beside her on the sofa, and we shared a lot of amazing storys. Kacey has been traveled a lot, and also lots of life experiences, so that we also had conversations about "God and the World", as we use to say. I like to take her around our area, to Flensburg and a short trip to Dänmark. In the time, Kacey stayed with us, I had to take our old cat Max to the hospital, for a dangerous operation. It was sooo good, to have Kacey by my side, to support me. So, Max survived everything very well and became strong and healthy, with all the cuddles of Kacey. Also my friends were happy to go for dogwalks with her, enjoying the uncomplicated and lovely kind of Kacey. I guess, I forgot some works, she has done, because the weeks were like some days and went by much to fast !!! I hope, I will meet Kacey again. Here will always be a place for you... Thank you, for the wonderful time 🤗

I stayed with Sven and Teresa for about 5 weeks, and they were wonderful hosts. The communication was clear from the start and I spent most of the workaway playing with chainsaws in the forest with Sven, a few weeks on my own while they went to Italy, and at the end a few days of cleaning the terrace in preparation of summer. The work was always very laid back. Also worth mentioning, Teresa is an amazing cook with a seemingly infinite repertoire of recipes. I think in the entire 5 weeks I was there she pretty much never made the same dish more than once. All very tasty, especially her soups and her pasta. I can recommend staying with Sven and Teresa to anyone. Thank you both for your hospitality!

Hello Clifford & Erica, We just realized that we hadn't sent our review to you yet, oops time got away from us. Here we are... We had a lovely volunteer experience with Clifford, Erica, and their team in February 2026. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel incredibly welcome. They have created a truly beautiful home, and the accommodation provided to us was private, comfortable, and had absolutely stunning views. Those sunsets were something out of this universe. Clifford and Erica are generous, knowledgeable well read individuals, as well as very easy going, which made communication and day to day life very smooth. We worked on a variety of tasks, from gardening to helping with the ponds which are especially impressive, as Clifford designed them himself. It was really interesting to be involved in maintaining such unique features of the property. The working hours felt fair, and there was a good balance between work and free time. We also shared meals together, which we really appreciated. It created a warm, home like atmosphere and gave us a chance to connect more personally. Overall, it was a positive experience, and we’re grateful for the time we spent there and everything we learned. If we are ever back in the area we will most certainly pay another visit to your little paradise. Thank you for an incredible time there. Happy Hosting Until Next Time Chad & Anna Ps: Hope Muffin Recovered.

Vlad only stayed for a bit over a week as the trailer he was accommodated in was not to his liking . The following Workaway loved the trailer and was quite happy there . While he was here he helped out with a few things and was fine at that. He’s got a sense of humour and he’d be welcome back here.

This is the best place to meet friendly people from all over the world! I stayed there for 2 months and it was a memorable experience. You can talk with local people and learn about Japanese culture from them. During weekday, cafe is quite cozy and nice but every Friday night, they have party so if you like to meet other travelers and local people, I do recommend!! It’s located on the center of Tokyo so it’s very convenient to explore :) I love everyone I met and my experience at the cafe, Thank you so much Yuta-san!! :)

We were at Rennet’s place for the better part of a month, and it was just lovely. Rennet cares about her workawayers in a personal way. We had great talks, and heard some incredible stories. She also always made sure we were comfortable and especially well-fed – by all means, not trying to overstate, the food was amazing (also for Cons, who is vegan)! Rennet was also always very flexible with scheduling tasks and working hours/off days. Last but not least, Ayo and Yara were the sweetest; they always made us good company and we shall miss them dearly. Thank you for everything!

Miku is very open-minded and hardworking, and she does everything you ask of her. With her talkative and friendly personality, both our customers and staff really liked her. She also speaks English fluently. I strongly recommend her to all hosts on Workaway!

Yannick, Nikki and the Children were wonderful hosts. Cannot speak highly enough of my experience with them. Kind compassionate, inspired people who are making their own little corner beautiful. The work trade agreement was clear ahead of time, the exchange, i felt, was more than fair. The land that they live on is lovely and the vision for their multiple projects is inspiring and worth contributing to. I was very impressed by the school they were building as well as the scope of the musical project that Yannick hosted. Both hosts are warmhearted people, I also got the opportunity to meet some extended family and all were kind and interesting people. The work trade agreement was between 18-25 hours per week but normally ~22 hours (as advertised). I got sick when first arrived and they were kind to give me a bit of time off to recover. The highlight of my stay is something hard to pin point but probably lay in the sweet times i got to spend looking after the kids; cooking and gardening with them. Things worked well between us because we all were providing and exchanging, i think trying our best to co-live, coexist and be symbiotic. I would discourage people who want a "free-ride" or just a cheap place to stay- these people are very deserving of others who are going to actually contribute in the spirit of reciprocity- one thing i can say is that I was completely supported and comfortable during my stay.

This was such a wonderful experience in Opinogora, Poland and I’m so grateful to have been welcomed as a last minute volunteer by Adam, Anna, and Franek in the week leading up to Easter. They are incredibly warm and accommodating hosts who truly share their lives with you. From delicious homegrown food (and vodka:) ) to meaningful conversations, laughter, and insights into Polish culture, I felt fully immersed and very lucky. Adam has a great sense of humour and an infectious energy, and I learned a lot from him about farm life and I am very inspired by his beautiful artwork and life as a working artist. Anna is exceptionally kind and generous, and an amazing cook, despite my allergy she always made sure I was included with meals which I really appreciated. She makes fantastic food from fresh goats cheese to delicious cake! She also kindly helped me organise my free weekend, including trips to and from to the station, which was super helpful. It’s clear they are very experienced hosts who genuinely enjoy meeting people from around the world and have so much knowledge because of this. The work is fair and rewarding. During my time, tasks included preparing their agritourism space for guests, cleaning, gardening, tidying, clearing materials such as wood to make space on the farm, cleaning out the greenhouse, and removing old plastic sheeting from growing areas on the land. You quickly learn, ‘there is always something to do on the farm’ which keeps things varied and interesting. No day is the same. I was lucky to work alongside another volunteer, and we made a great team. We worked independently and they trusted us to get the work done but there were also moments when we would work as a team and have very lovely breaks together. In my free time I enjoyed drawing and soaking up the peaceful surroundings, as well as spending time with their lovely animals. Overall, this was a truly special experience, and I would absolutely recommend this Workaway to others.

Yujia was such a wonderful volunteer. She is from China and worked incredibly hard during her stay. Together with Paivikki from Finland, she always gave her best and approached every task with great dedication. She is very responsible, thoughtful, and intelligent. In my experience, many Chinese people are hardworking and kind, and Yuija is definitely one of them. She helped a lot with daily tasks like washing dishes and doing laundry, and I truly appreciated her support. We also had so much fun playing UNO together every night — those moments were really special. Although her stay was short, I sincerely hope she will come back to Japan again someday. She is always welcome here.

Kaja was a wonderful part of our team during her time with us. She has a very positive and easygoing personality, and is always willing to help wherever needed. She supported us with photography and video production, and the quality of her work was consistently strong. Kaja communicates clearly and effectively, and is very open to feedback. She is willing to adjust and collaborate to achieve the best possible results, which made working with her very smooth. She also works well within a team, is responsible, reliable, and always meets deadlines. We truly appreciate her contribution and are very grateful for her support.

Dear Viana, Thank you so much for the opportunity to become part of this beautiful community. Its people felt like home to me for four weeks, and I enjoyed my time there immensely. Our mornings were spent doing different kinds of work around the grounds :cooking, gardening, cleaning, and creative projects such as woodwork or sewing. Some tasks were challenging, but they were just as rewarding, and most importantly they were always done in the company of lovely people and often accompanied by good music. And even when the work felt demanding, you always knew you could look forward to lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. Vegan meals prepared with care and from the heart by the amazing kitchen team. In the afternoons we had the freedom to do whatever we preferred. Usually we would relax together, play lots of card games (Cambio!), chat, and enjoy the pleasant weather. Sometimes we went to the first or the second river nearby to cool down and refresh ourselves. The evenings were varied. Sometimes we sang karaoke, played board games, or watched a movie; other times we had long and interesting conversations around the dining table. You could always choose what you felt like doing, even if that meant taking some time for yourself or going to bed early. Whatever the choice, I never felt lonely or left out. Everyone was welcome. And the landscapes! It is surrounded by incredible mountain views that delight you every day. On your free days you can even hike those mountains and spend a night in a mountain hut, which I would definitely recommend. If you have a car or are open to hitchhiking, you can also visit Cannobio, a lovely town on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Thank you again, Viana and your family, for these heartwarming weeks. In the end it is all about the people and you can be sure that you will always find wonderful people here. Lots of love, Lina

George and Avery stayed with us from September 9 to September 18, 2025, and although their stay was short, they made a very positive impact. They helped us with renovation work and approached everything with great energy and a hands-on attitude. George’s background in architecture and carpentry was especially valuable, and both of them worked efficiently and thoughtfully on various tasks. In addition to the physical work, they also filmed and edited a renovation video for us, which we later posted on Instagram. The video was beautifully made and captured the atmosphere of the project in a very professional and creative way. It was a great contribution beyond the usual Workaway tasks. They are a very nice and easygoing couple, and it was a pleasure having them around. They worked well together and brought a positive and friendly vibe to the house. Even though their stay was short, we really appreciated their contribution and would happily recommend them to any host. Thank you both again, and you are always welcome back!

With Jasmin I was very fortunate to have an exceptionally reliable volunteer at our cat shelter for a few weeks. From the very beginning, she demonstrated a high level of commitment, a strong sense of responsibility and great empathy in her interactions with the animals. She always carried out all the necessary tasks carefully and independently – whether it was cleaning the enclosures, feeding the cats or providing them with loving care. Particularly noteworthy is her keen sense of the animals’ needs; even with shy or fearful cats, she patiently took her time and quickly gained their trust. Furthermore, she was always positive, helpful and a great support. Her positive attitude and dedication made day-to-day life at the shelter and on the finca noticeably nice for us and the cats. We can recommend her without reservation and would be delighted to welcome her back at any time.

I spent a couple of weeks with Hilde and Micha on their beautiful boat and I felt right at home. They are a set of kind and good hearted people, it's been a pleasure being in their company. Besides working on my paint job and some gardening I also got the chance to visit Berlin and relax on the boat, which is hands down the coziest boat I've ever been on! It's been such a great experience and I'm definitely going to miss everything about it.

This was my first experience as a workawayer and I truly loved it! I spent 1 week with them, mostly prepared dinner and did some light cleaning. Declan and Michelle are hospitable, generous hosts and I felt welcome as soon as I arrived. Liam and Tadhg are playful, easygoing and adorable kids. I admire the way Declan and Michelle encountered them with love. Rauland was a calm village, I enjoyed walking and skiing there. I will miss those beautiful mountains! We also took a day trip to a nearby village and visited an industrial worker -museum there, it was really fun. They also took me by car if I wanted to go anywhere. I hope to see you again someday, maybe in Baltimore. Thank you <3

I spent three weeks at Majken's in March, and it was a great and peaceful experience ! Majken is very kind and thoughtful, we had great conversations and laughs together. She also drove me to the station on my days off so I could explore more of Denmark, or let me borrow her bike when she was not here. And last but not least she bakes delicious homemade bread and biscuits 😋 The daily work is usually feeding / checking on the animals (especially when Majken was on her 24 hour shifts) and working on some various garden projects. Thank you for letting me ride the tractor that was very fun and I enjoyed my weeding mission and helping taking care of the animals (they are all so cute) ! I also really enjoyed having the forest starting right in the backyard for walks and jogs and the small lake to relax there when the weather was nice !
