I had an amazing time at the farm and wish I could've stayed longer if I didn't have a flight already booked. I visited early in cacao season and it wasn't in full swing quite yet, we broke open cacao pods and the rest of the work was related to general farm upkeep like watering construction areas, taking care of the dogs and cow, chopping wood etc. Mukunth organises the volunteers and does a great job planning out what everyone will be doing and is super receptive to feedback. Mayoor is a wealth of knowledge about all things fermentation as well as having lots of tips for the local area. The accommodation is basic but good, especially now with the mosquito nets on the beds! Food is generally pretty good as well. I hope to return again some day to see cacao season in full swing

Amazing time with Paul and Yvonne. They have a beautiful property and even more beautiful energy as hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and included as part of the team. Working alongside them was such a rewarding experience. Their permaculture garden is inspiring, and we learned so much about sustainable living, planting techniques, and working in harmony with nature. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to share what they know. The donkeys were an absolute highlight, gentle, funny, and full of personality. Spending time with them made the whole experience even more special. Call out to doggos Eidevitis an Titatous for guiding us around the farm.

Ale is my first Workaway host and has provided me with an amazing farm experience in Sciacca! (my "farm life in Sicily" dream-come-true!!) Even I was a bit last-minute and could not stay for too long. It was so nice to get connected to the plants, trees , his soap museum and his friends in Sciacca. And of course we had super interesting conversations from permaculture, to emotional growth, to "decolonising" talks hahaha. Thank you Ale and I look forward to coming back in summer!

I feel so lucky to have Lahcen as my host in Morocco. He is super kind, friendly, openminded and helpful, always willing to help his volunteers. Assa is a beautiful, lovely and peaceful city with lovely people. The students are always willing to learn. They are angels:) I'm so sorry about leaving early because of some personal stuff. Thank you Lahcen! Thank you all the other volunteers Camila, Sarah, Juba, Maxim... It's a lovely experience with you guys:)

Hedayah is an incredible person and one of the best volunteers we've had here at our guesthouse. Always willing, proactive, responsible, communicative. She did an excellent job in her volunteer assignments, but also helped with other tasks thanks to her willingness, and dedication. We are immensely grateful for all the affection, contribution, and exchanges we experienced. Know that our doors will always be open to welcome her back. I highly recommend her to all hosts!

Klara and Simon were the perfect workaways.
As well as being nice people who were interested in permaculture, they both worked very hard and completed all the tasks that were set.
They were keen to learn about how we worked on the land.
The jobs were mainly composting our trees using our organic fertiliser, clearing, cutting grass, raking, doing the orange fruit harvest. They used their initiative and were good at working independently. We had a great week with them chatting about life and learning about their world travels. They would be an asset to anyone who hosts them .

Connecting with Mauro feels like something the universe always had planned — a little bit of divine timing 💫 I’m so grateful everything aligned for us to spend this time together, sharing music, culture, stories, and genuine friendship. Mauro has a truly beautiful spirit and a calm, grounded energy that immediately enriches any space he’s in. Beyond that, he brings a strong work ethic and quiet discipline to everything he does. This not only makes him a gifted artist (do ask him to play — his renditions of Argentinian folk classics are absolutely beautiful!), but also a reliable, thoughtful, and supportive member of any team or community. He’s also a wonderful cook, and it was such a pleasure to experience the warmth and generosity he brings into the kitchen. Sharing meals prepared by Mauro felt like an extension of his culture and care — simple, soulful, and deeply enjoyable. I only wish we had more time and the right conditions to make fuller use of his incredible skill set — his Argentinian wood-fired clay ovens are something special, and I’m still hoping we’ll bring him back one day to build one here. During his stay in the autumn, Mauro shared the space with several other volunteers and welcomed a steady flow of guests. Everyone experienced him as respectful, engaged, and genuinely contributing to the atmosphere of the place. He added something intangible but deeply felt... especially in the quiet evenings, where his music made everything more memorable. Mauro, we would love to welcome you back anytime... perhaps again next autumn! It would be a joy 🥰

We had the most amazing time with Mark! This was our first Workaway experience so we weren’t sure what to expect. Mark immediately welcomed us to his home and showed us around the neighborhood, you can tell how much he loves his home and sharing it with others. We did meaningful work that was very manageable and enjoyable. Mark was mindful to not have us working outside when it was too windy, and he left us plenty of time to explore the area. He gave awesome recommendations for food, hikes, and historical sites. Oh and his cooking!!! He took such great care of us, we are so grateful for his generosity. I hope we can come back soon to visit our new friend!!

We stayed two weeks in Irina’s place. Irina is a wonderful Host and great workaway. She was incredibly welcoming and we were part of the family from the moment we arrived. Our tasks were - feeding and taking care of the animals - cleaning duties - gardening and - construction work (we built a pathway through the jungle) which were pretty cool. The animals are super cute and friendly. It is an absolute joy to take care of them. There is a lot of flexibility in the work and the hours. On one day we worked more hours to finish the project and we got one more day off. Thank you very much for having us. It was a great adventure! We cooked, laught and heared music together and met new friends. ☺️ We had lots of fun and enjoyed our time here very much. Koh Phayam has lots to offer and one of the most beautiful sunsets on our journey. Highly recommended! We will definitely come back. ❤️

Iris is a conscientious and hard-working individual who approached every task with dedication and care. Whether helping with daily responsibilities or taking initiative on her own, she consistently demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic. Her communication skills were excellent, making it easy to coordinate tasks and ensure everything ran smoothly. She was always polite, clear, and thoughtful in her interactions, which made a big difference in a shared environment. She was also very respectful towards our guests, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for everyone. On top of that, she showed a natural affinity with animals, handling them with kindness, patience, and confidence. Overall, I highly recommend her to any future hosts. She would be a valuable and positive presence in any Workaway placement.

Laurent was our second host in Portugal, where we stayed for three weeks in March and learned so much new and interesting things. His property is beautiful and invited us to sit outside in the sunny weather. He also has goats, sheep, and a pig, as well as the sweetest little dogs, Simba and Luna, who are always heard loudly ;) We were able to choose our working hours, which are five hours long, and we decided on 8 AM to 1 PM, which worked perfectly due to the warm weather. We had the weekends off. The tasks were always clear, and he explained many things to us, for example, about the forest. Most of the time, we spent in the forest, where we helped Laurent create paths by manually cutting smaller trees. We also pulled weeds in various beds. It was physically demanding work, but manageable. Laurent was always attentive to ensure we understood everything and felt comfortable. Breakfast was always prepared in the morning, and we ate independently. We will really miss lunch and dinner, which were always freshly and healthily prepared! We shared these two meals with Laurent. The accommodation was also comfortable. We stayed in a small apartment separate from the main house. The only thing to know is that the Wi-Fi does not reach there. We heard various funny and also educational stories and experiences from Laurent. Even though he is not Portuguese, he told us a lot about Portugal and its history. The shared meals were ideal for exchanging ideas. We thank you for the new, valuable experiences.

I stayed 2 weeks at the finca. It is a beautiful small paradise in the depths of the mountains of Andalucia. My day started with a nice morning Tai Chi and Yoga with an older spanish man Teo and Maria. Both were pretty joyful and positive. The food overall was versitile with lots of fruits vegtables and desserts as well. I was surprised how creative the vegan kitchen can be. The work was mainly some paintings or maintenance work outside. Sometimes I helped cooking as well. I liked to spent my free time just sitting outside, reading a book or journaling. I really appreciate the stillness and peace in nature. There are possibilities to go for a walk as well. Maybe mountainbiking could be a good option as well. Before dinner I could participate in an one hour medition with Maria and other volunteers. Sometimes Hannes played beautiful songs for us on the guitar afterwards. I told Maria that I was curious about spirituality. She explained me some topics and borrowed me some spiritual books. She even invited me to a spiritual event. I am very grateful for that. Maria is very joyful and caring. Always smiling and open. Generally the people there are very funny positive good people. Its a nice small environment. Hannes and Michael took me to some Yoga classes as well which I really appreciate. One day there was a „Finca day“ which is a day where only self grown food from this finca could be eaten. A cool idea to see how much food you would actually need to be self sufficient. All in all I am grateful for the hospitality and the good people there. All the best!

Jannis and I spent four wonderful weeks with this lovely family and had a great time. During our stay, we helped out at their second house with painting, cleaning, and renovation projects. Toward the end of our stay, we also did some gardening. The tasks were varied and well balanced, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the experience. For accommodation, we first stayed in their main house. We moved to the second house for our final week once the first room was ready. It was great spending time with their two boys and their dog Roxy, who is absolutely lovely. We also enjoyed the social side of this Workaway. We spent many beautiful evenings together with the family and their friends from the neighbourhood which was a great way to feel connected to local life. It truly felt like being part of the family :) A special thanks to Yika, who went above and beyond to help us explore the region. She often drove us around, gave us countless great hiking tips and even lent us a tent and sleeping mats for a three-day hiking trip. Thank you very much for your hospitality and the warm atmosphere. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this host to anyone looking for a welcoming and genuine experience.

It was my first Workaway experience and also my first time in Europe, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better start. The homestead is absolutely beautiful, and I can really feel how much love and care they put into everything. I learned so many new things during my stay, and every day felt meaningful in its own way. I’m truly grateful for this experience, and I would love to come back again if I have the chance in the future. Thank you so much for everything 💗

We had a very nice time with Naoki. Even though he is very young, he behaved very maturely, ready to help and learn, taking initiative and doing tasks with enthusiasm and interest. We were generally a good match as he was very interested in many things we offer like yoga, meditation, veganism etc. Welcome anytime, thank you for the help, the music and your presence :D

Althought we had a short exchange, Tiberius helped us a lot. Thank you for everything! I really liked the fact he expressed his concerns and feedback immediately ,so that we can adress them in timely matter. Thanks to that great communication this was a great exchange!
