  My name is Rachel.
  I have been working to build my future home in the Caribbean!
  Right now, the priority projects I need help with are taking care of and leveling the yard and getting the rocks out, sanding, and painting!
  I look forward to hosting someone who can help and be independent and dependable! Trading work help for your time on this Caribbean island, a scuba and snorkeling paradise, is my desire! I have several bicycles that can be used to get around the island. I only ask that you keep the bicycles inside when not in use so there's less exposure to salt water. FYI it is an uphill bike ride from the home, mostly low grade up...

  You would be a one minute walk from the Caribbean ocean where you can snorkel and become familiar with the sea life here. There are so many dive shops here (12 minute tuk tuk ride to those) as well as freediving! Utila has so much history. Between the pirate history, local folklore, and diverse cultural history, you just can't go wrong!
  This is a wonderful conservation association on the island if you are looking for volunteer opportunities.
  
  The project is very active with saving turtles. You can become involved with either organization of that interests you!
  
  The beach next to my home is where they release the baby turtles!

  Currently we are working on sanding, primering, and painting the wood deck railing on the second floor!
  
  I would love to find someone who does not mind getting dirty. My yard is rolling mounds of dirt. I'd love to get it looking pretty with local vegetation. A food garden is what I prefer! Tropical and Caribbean! There will be guidance from the local person who is planning my yard layout!
  
  I also have a few woodworking projects in mind. Shelves and cabinets etc that need to be built. Plus a few things that I shipped over for the kitchen that need to be built.
  
  Gutters save my rain water. There is a triple reverse osmosis filtration system in the home.

  Hi all!
  I'm updating this in July 2026.
  The following two rooms are available. There is the guest room in my personal home.
  I also have a bonus room. Instead of a door that room has a curtain.
  I have even hosted in my living room when someone wanted to extend their stay.
  The kitchen has all of the basics and then some... Pots, pans, dishes, sink, stove, coffee maker, coffee grinder, refrigerator, and microwave.
  There is a shared washing machine at the property for a small fee of 35 lempiras per load to cover electricity. You are welcome to hand wash at no charge. No dryer as it's not needed. We hang our laundry to dry.
  There is no TV. I do have Starlink Wi-Fi.
  I would prefer someone who can supply their own food as I travel for work and may not be here.

  My home is on the part of the island where it's a 12 minute drive to town on a golf cart. So it's a bit of a walk. However there is one bar and one restaurant approximately one block from me and a grocery store about a third of a mile walk or so. This is a brand new home that still has some building detail going on. I have four shared bicycles that can be included if you need. I only ask that you respectfully keep bicycles inside when not in use.

  I have starlink wifi here. I prefer non smokers. No smoking allowed on the property please!

  Dogs that are not incessant barkers are ok. Your dog must get along with other dogs! Please be kind and pick up after your dog right away when they go outside! There are several dogs in the neighborhood who sometimes wander so your dog should be able to get along with other dogs! This is not a fenced yard.
