I am a belgian woman living on the beautiful island of utila, 4km outside of town, near the beach, in a jungle environment and need some help with general house upkeep.

This was my first workaway experience and certainly won’t be my last. I had a fantastic time with Barbara. Her house is absolutely stunning and so peaceful, you can hear the waves crashing on the beach at night. Paul came to shelter at my house for 4 days during the tropical storm/hurricane Sara . He was very responsible, thoughtful , ethical, protective towards the dog- and house sitting job he came to the island for and went out of his way to do the right thing to keep the dogs and that house safe. This was an absolutely incredible workaway experience. Barbara was able to take me on, very last minute and I'm so thankful she did. Her house is a jungle paradise away from the hustle and bustle of main town Utila and very close to a quiet beach. Had a lovely time staying with Barbara and helping her get her home ready for sale. She's very knowledgeable about all of the local events and taught me some wonderful new dishes that will be on my permanent menu. I look forward to running into her in Istanbul or at an African music concert some day very soon.

We had a great time with Barbara. The place is lovely in a quiet and beautiful environment, so it's a nice change when you want to get out of the parties in Utila. She's really fun and gave us a lot of freedom. We would definitely recommend staying with her and helping her out!

Had a nice time with Barbara, she's a legend. It was cool to be brought into a whole community on the island and shown a ton of cool stuff, that month went by faster than I realized :)
