We (0,5,36,47), our 2 dogs and our cat live in the countryside, 2km from a tiny village by the sea, where I run a little guesthouse business. We have a lot of trees to fertilize and prune, and a tiny vegetable garden, but plenty of land. At the moment we could have some support mostly with cutting branches and moving logs (preparing for the winter) , cleaning and painting some walls, renewing wooden boxes for the vegetable garden, fertilizing trees, pruning trees, sanding and painting furniture, playing with the dogs, cooking, shoping, babysitting, tidying up, caring for the chicken, etc etc etc :P

With two kids life has changed, so we dont host so much because hosting adds to the chaos, but i’d like to give it a try again : )

Volunteers have a little house for them alone, 300m from our place, so its better if you come in 2 or enjoy spending some time by yourself. At the moment the best deal for us is 3hours work, 5 days/week, with no meals, or 4 hours work 5 days/week and we provide food for one daily meal.

The village is accessible by bus.
Best way to enjoy spare time here is just reading a book, relax on the beach, getting creative, visit local historical sites, go for long walks, surfing/body boarding/SUP, renting a kayak, biking, snorkeling, etc

We stayed for a week at Ritas and helped out in the garden (in company of a very active puppy) and moving around furniture. They have a busy household and Rita has a lot of ideas what can be done around the house, which can make it a bit chaotic sometimes 😃. Rita and her family are very lovely people and made us feel welcome and at home.

Teresa and Rafi were very helpful and kind. They helped me carry furniture around, cleaning, hanging clothes, sowing beans and peas while dealing with a furious puppy, cooking, etc. They also built a nice box made of wood to plant veggies in : ))

Lou is a driven worker and shy but kind company! She helped me and another volunteer to clean, white wash and organize an old storage room. She was great at sanding some old iron beds, painting and other smaller tasks as unmounting furniture, carrying heavy stuff around and dog sitting. She also learned how to prepare calc paint.
