There is much to explore in this area which is rich in history and culture. You can go inland to beautiful hilltop villages. The transport system is cheap and available regularly. I spend my time between the boat and my house which is in Soliera (Apuana).

The area is rich with history with La Spezia city nearby, Portovenere and the Cinque Terre, The poets Shelly and Byron lived nearby.

The scenery here is beautiful and there are lots of nice walking areas. The house is around 550 years old and is situated at the bottom of the Apennine mountains.

General cleaning and polishing at my boat. It is a classic and needs constant TLC.
The help that I need doing is light, nothing complicated, general cleaning and varnishing.

Accommodation is on the boat or at my house depending on the weather, some pictures are shown below. You can cook for yourself or eat out with me, the choice is yours. The boat has a toilet, shower and private cabin and is moored on a private marina near Sarzana which has members toilets and showers.

Fred was a very nice host and we learned a lot from him. unfortunately during our stay the boat was broken but we could do some gardining and it was really nice on his terrace! we really recommend his place if you like to see some very small Italian villages with a lot of nature !

Yvonne was an excellent guest. A warm and kind person she was willing to do anything around the house and on my boat. She was always looking for things to do, often on her own initiative. An absolutely delightful person any host she stays with will be sorry to see her leave.

Me and my friend had the most amazing stay with Fred this October! Fred was so generous and welcoming, we instantly felt comfortable. The work wasnt too hard. Fred lives in a really beautiful part of Italy. Fred introduced us to a few of his friends, two of which we ended up going to stay with after Freds! All in all it was a great experience.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Fred. My friend and I spent 10 days with him- mostly on his boat but also at his house.
